CHAPTER 505: CHAPTER 505: WHAT ARE YOU DOING

Violet’s last ounce of patience was exhausted.

She curled one corner of her lips into a smile and said, "As for Franklin’s matters, it’s up to him. If he knows that I’ve presumptuously set him up for a blind date with random people, he might blame me."

This remark really didn’t leave any face for Shirley Owens.

Earlier, Shirley was flattered by everyone she spoke to, with five people greeting her as she stepped out of the living room, so now her warmth meeting with indifference was naturally unsettling.

She forced a smile, her gaze turning colder, "Oh, Miss Ford has quite the vision. I wonder who she’ll deem fit to be her sister-in-law in the future."

While they were talking here, Franklin and Yara had already noticed the commotion and were heading over.

Violet and Yara remained unaware.

"That’s hard to say; after all, our family only values character," Violet said with a half-smile. "Girls who love to snatch from others’ bowls, well, not just The Ford Family, I doubt any family would appreciate that, right?"

Shirley’s smile completely faded, seemingly maintaining the last bit of rationality, refraining from direct insult.

"What do you mean by that, Miss Ford?" Shirley’s expression slightly darkened, "Who snatched things from others?"

Evelyn wished to stay away from such a tense atmosphere, but with Violet here, she couldn’t just leave.

So she braced herself, thinking about how to mediate.

However, Violet clearly had no intention of diffusing the situation.

She squinted her eyes and smiled lightly: "Who snatched things from others? Well, it’s not polite to say directly, right? After all, everyone cares about face in such occasions, saying it outright might not be good. Mrs. Owens, do you really want me to spell it out?"

Shirley finally couldn’t hold it anymore and pressed her voice down angrily: "You! Miss Ford, don’t speak in riddles, I haven’t provoked you!"

"Is that so?" Violet casually sipped her champagne, smiling indifferently, "Then let me be frank, Mrs. Owens, Franklin isn’t interested in your niece, even if she were a fairy descended from heaven—besides, Franklin already has someone as outstanding as Evelyn working with him, how could he be interested in anyone else?"

Evelyn’s pupils widened slightly as she looked at Violet.

However, as Evelyn glanced to the side, her pupils shook even more violently.

Franklin and Yara didn’t know when they had already come close.

She instinctively looked at Yara, and immediately captured the dazed look in Yara’s eyes.

"Mrs. Owens, Miss Ford was only joking, surely you won’t take it to heart? But perhaps you’d better not play matchmaker so randomly in the future to avoid any awkwardness for everyone."

Evelyn’s tone sped up slightly, fearing Yara might misunderstand.

However, Shirley glanced at Evelyn, and the disdain in her eyes was glaring.

"Evelyn, don’t pretend to be a saint." Facing Evelyn, Shirley tore off the last facade, her eyes filled with glaring disdain, "You’re impressive now, clinging to James isn’t enough, and now you’re trying to cozy up to little Director Ford?"

At these words, Yara was the first to explode, coldly saying, "Mrs. Owens, don’t speak nonsense!"

The commotion caught the attention of those around them.

Violet’s gaze was icy cold, yet she didn’t say much more to Shirley, instead, she looked at Franklin.

Franklin’s eyes also carried a chill.

"Mrs. Owens, it’s Director Grant’s birthday party, what are you doing?"
