CHAPTER 512: CHAPTER 512: SENSE OF SUPERIORITY

Evelyn Clayton’s brow furrowed imperceptibly.

She always felt that Violet Ford was doing it on purpose.

But then again, she thought she might be overthinking.

Franklin Ford felt tight in his chest; he glanced at Yara Reagan through the rearview mirror to see her looking down at her phone, unable to see her expression clearly.

"Sis, this is my own business," Franklin’s voice deepened, his tone heavy, "I’ll handle it myself, don’t say anything reckless."

Violet laughed lightly, "I was just joking, of course you’ll have to manage this yourselves."

Taking advantage of the shift, Franklin changed the subject, "Evelyn, Yara, I’ll drop you off first."

The car drove near Yara Reagan’s neighborhood, but before entering the gates, Yara called for a stop.

She remained cheerful as usual, "Just stop here, I want to get something to eat at the entrance, I didn’t eat enough tonight, only drank wine."

Evelyn discreetly observed her expression, finally just nodding, "Alright, be careful on your way back."

Violet also thoughtfully reminded, "If you’re not feeling well, remember to drink some honey water, if necessary, take a rest tomorrow."

Yara sweetly responded and left.

Franklin hadn’t managed to say anything before he found himself staring somewhat absentmindedly at Yara’s departing figure.

Closing the car door, he drove to Evelyn’s home, and none of them spoke again the whole way.

At the entrance to Evelyn Clayton’s apartment building, Violet suddenly spoke.

"Franklin, wait for me downstairs for a moment, I need to talk to Evelyn."

Franklin frowned slightly, "Sis, what do you need to say?"

Violet shot him a look, "You want to ask about chat between girls too?"

Faced with this, Franklin couldn’t pursue the matter further, reluctantly nodding, "Alright then, go ahead, I’ll wait here."

Violet got out with Evelyn, but stopped at the building’s entrance.

"Alright, Franklin shouldn’t hear anything now, let’s talk here," Violet glanced at Franklin in the car and laughed.

In the darkness, Evelyn’s slightly furrowed brow went unnoticed, "Violet, is there something you want to tell me?"

"Sort of," Violet thought for a moment, then chuckled awkwardly, "It’s a bit embarrassing to talk about... Do you really not have any feelings for Franklin?"

Evelyn was almost stunned by this.

After her initial shock, Evelyn calmed down.

She could sense Violet’s subtle matchmaking between her and Franklin.

Yet, due to Yara, she always avoided stepping into Violet’s conversation traps, which inevitably led to misunderstandings, making Violet think she was hesitant or shy.

It seemed that some things needed to be made clear today.

"Violet, I only have friendly feelings for Director Ford. To be more strict..." Evelyn paused, choosing her words carefully, "Sometimes I only consider him a partner without more thoughts."

Violet’s tone carried some disappointment.

"Evelyn, you should feel that I am very satisfied with you. It seems you’re destined but not meant to be... However, I have another favor to ask of you."

Evelyn did not respond immediately, a trace of caution in her eyes, "What is it? If it’s something I can do, I’ll do my best."

"I can tell who Franklin actually has feelings for—it’s Yara," Violet said leisurely, with an inherent superiority, "Could you help me keep an eye on them, make sure they don’t end up together?"
