CHAPTER 536: CHAPTER 536: EXTRAORDINARY IDENTITY

James Grant and Evelyn Clayton simultaneously looked towards Isabella Garrison.

Isabella Garrison apologized with a smile to the two of them, "I’ll go check on the children first. Mr. and Mrs. Grant, please enjoy the tea."

With that, Isabella stood up and hurried out.

Soon after she left, there were some voices in the corridor, mostly youthful, with occasional adult voices urging the children to get up and out.

The tone wasn’t warm and friendly, but it wasn’t harsh either.

Everything seemed so normal.

Too normal, in fact.

Evelyn Clayton’s gaze returned to the teacup in front of her.

"This is Silver Needle Tea..." Evelyn gently blew over the tea in the cup, "I’m not mistaken, am I?"

Her voice was very soft, and James followed suit, lowering his voice, "No mistake, and it’s top-tier."

Evelyn chuckled lightly, "Honestly, I’ve only seen this tea twice before; this is the third time."

"I haven’t had it much either," James half-joked, "I’m not a tea lover, and it’s definitely not cheap."

There are few things that James would consider expensive, implying that it’s mainly things he doesn’t like or find necessary to buy.

Clearly, Silver Needle Tea was one of those things.

"Interesting." Evelyn mused, "In such a poor place, there’s such good tea."

James mused, "When something is unusual, there’s usually a hidden reason. You saw that director earlier, seemed like she’s used to drinking this type of tea."

No sooner were these words spoken, Isabella Garrison returned.

"The children are all up," Isabella looked eager, "Would you both like to go see them in the courtyard first?"

Evelyn smiled without a word, and James responded calmly, "No rush, there are some questions I still need to ask Director Gan."

Isabella’s unease began to show.

She hesitated for a moment, then sat back down, a cautious look in her eyes.

When she first saw these two people, Isabella felt they were not simple.

Just from their attire, these two didn’t look like ordinary people, and there was a noble air about them.

In any case, they were not easy to fool.

A trace of an indistinct shadow passed in Isabella’s eyes, and she once again displayed a gentle smile, "What questions do Mr. and Mrs. Grant have?"

Evelyn tapped lightly on the teacup, a faint smile on her lips, but shifted the topic, "Director Gan, your tea leaves are quite good."

Isabella’s smile froze for a moment.

Then, Evelyn raised her eyes and looked at Isabella, "What’s the matter, Director?"

"It’s nothing." Isabella’s hands under the table tightened slightly, "These tea leaves were a gift from a businessman who previously did charity work at our orphanage. I’ve always been reluctant to drink it, saving it for honored guests. I’m glad you like it."

Evelyn showed a knowing expression, "I see."

She paused, then smiled at James, as if engaging in casual conversation, "Darling, I recall that this grade of Sovereign Peak is only found in Aethelburg, almost like a tribute. Am I remembering correctly?"

At these words, James was momentarily stunned, then a tingling sensation spread through his heart.

Even though he knew Evelyn was just putting on a show by calling him ’darling’, James still felt entirely at ease.

A barely perceptible smile crossed James’s eyes, "You remembered correctly, dear. This indeed is at the level of a tribute."

Saying this, James looked at Isabella with a half-smile, "The philanthropist Director Gan knows seems to have an extraordinary background."
