CHAPTER 589: CHAPTER 589: LET HER GO WITH YOU

Evelyn Clayton took out the phone inside, her eyes becoming somewhat complicated.

She looked at Ian Sinclair and said in a low voice, "No offense intended, but I want to ask, is Mrs. Wang..."

"Her mental state isn’t very good."

Ian Sinclair stated directly, seemingly not considering it to be of much importance.

But he didn’t continue on the topic, saying, "I won’t disturb you any further. Regarding what I mentioned earlier, if you want, I can have the agreement delivered to you anytime."

With that, Ian Sinclair took his leave.

Evelyn Clayton hesitated on the bed for a long time, then powered on her phone.

A flood of texts and missed calls poured in, leaving Evelyn Clayton almost unable to discern the senders.

Even though it was a new phone, the sheer volume of messages caused it to lag a bit. Evelyn patiently waited for them to load completely before opening her inbox.

It was crammed full, mostly messages from James Grant and Yara Reagan.

Iris Lockwood also sent quite a few, but her dozen or so messages got lost in the mix, making them less noticeable.

As for the missed calls, they overwhelmed Evelyn Clayton.

Looking at the screen filled with James Grant’s name, her vision blurred unknowingly.

A bitter sensation rose within her, and Evelyn bit her lip slightly, pushing back the inexplicable urge to cry.

After pondering for a long time, she decided to call Yara Reagan.

The last time they met, they parted on bad terms.

But just from the messages and calls Yara had sent, Evelyn knew that her Yara wasn’t truly angry with her.

She was really worried about her.

The phone rang twice before being quickly picked up.

A few seconds later, Yara Reagan’s trembling voice was heard.

"Hello?"

Tears immediately fell from Evelyn Clayton’s eyes.

The person on the other end seemed incredulous, their voice quavering, "Is it... Evelyn?"

After a long while, Evelyn finally stifled her sobs, her voice hoarse as she spoke.

"Yara... It’s me, it’s Evelyn."

There was a moment of silence on the other end before Yara Reagan began sobbing.

"Where the hell have you been these two months?"

Yara’s crying became increasingly uncontrollable, and she ended up bawling, "Do you have any idea I really thought you were dead! Why didn’t you answer the phone or reply to messages? What happened to you?"

Listening to Yara’s breakdown, Evelyn Clayton also struggled to hold herself together.

She trembled as she said, "I... I’m sorry, Yara, I’m sorry."

Yara cried for a long time before finally remembering to ask.

"Where are you?" Yara demanded, "Tell me now, I’ll come find you! You better see me!"

Evelyn bit her lip, "I... I was in a car accident, now I’m in a hospital in Aethelburg, someone saved me."

"A car accident?" Yara was stunned, nearly breaking down into tears again, "Are you okay? Are your arms and legs alright? How did it happen... Why couldn’t I find out any information?"

Evelyn calmed her down for a long time and finally explained her condition after waking up.

Yara couldn’t believe it, muttering, "This is too unbelievable... Who would believe it if you told them... You don’t know, for the past two months James Grant has been going crazy, running everywhere, looking for you, besides me and Rhys Jacobs he barely saw anyone."

"Oh! And that cop! The one from Vernal Road Police Station, James even got into a fight with him!"

Veins throbbed on Evelyn Clayton’s forehead, "You mean, Gene Young?"

"Yeah! Two months ago when he couldn’t find you, he immediately came back to investigate all your connections and found us... Then James Grant somehow found out and stormed into the police station to beat him up."

"He even threatened him, saying if anything happened to you, he’d go with you."
