Flirted Wrong, Married Right
Chapter 633: Answer the Phone
CHAPTER 633: CHAPTER 633: ANSWER THE PHONE
After two medical staff completed a basic check-up for Gene Young, they seated him in a wheelchair and took him downstairs.
"Miss Reagan, we’ll take Mr. Young down first. By the way, Mr. Hawthorne is waiting for you downstairs."
Before leaving, the medical staff reminded Yara Reagan.
Yara exchanged a glance with Iris Lockwood, and Iris immediately caught on, following the two medical staff while attending to Gene Young, occasionally leaning in to speak to him, looking quite like a couple.
Yara went down a bit later, by which time Gene Young and Iris had already boarded a black luxury van.
Next to the van, Trevor Hawthorne stood in front of his Aston Martin, leisurely waiting for Yara.
"Thanks a lot." Yara approached him to greet, "Today you really went out of your way."
Trevor smiled wryly, "No need to be so polite, come on, get in the car."
With that, Trevor opened the car door.
Yara smiled back, said nothing, and got into the passenger seat.
Trevor also got in the car, following behind the van, driving at a moderate pace.
The car was filled with a light fragrance of agarwood, complementing Trevor’s persona. As Yara took in the scent, she suddenly thought of Franklin Ford.
What kind of scent did Franklin’s car and his person always have?
Yara’s thoughts were chaotic, so she turned to look out the car window, calming herself.
Before she could start a conversation, Trevor suddenly chuckled and spoke: "What are you thinking about? Worried about Iris’s boyfriend?"
His tone was ambiguous, and Yara simply played dumb.
"Yes, I wonder when his leg will recover." Yara lowered her eyes, hiding her mixed emotions, "I hope there will be some improvement at the convalescent home."
Trevor looked ahead, not glancing sideways, "Jadenhill’s medical facilities aren’t poor, there shouldn’t be any issues. Just not sure how long Iris’s boyfriend will stay there?"
"It’s hard to say." Yara remained nonchalant, "It took a lot of effort to convince him this time, that man can’t stay still, he might sneak out after a few days."
Trevor chuckled softly, not pursuing that topic further.
He swiftly changed the subject, "How are things going with Franklin Ford?"
Yara paused slightly, glancing at Trevor.
Trevor’s expression was calm, as if he were merely making small talk.
"What do you mean by how things are? What could possibly be?" Yara chuckled lightly, "Mr. Hawthorne, your questions have bewildered me."
Trevor laughed as if amused, "Why the sudden use of ’Mr. Hawthorne’? Are you also this formal with Franklin Ford?"
A faint shadow passed in Yara’s eyes.
"Franklin and I are fine, after all, we’re considered business partners." Yara’s voice turned cool, "If Mr. Hawthorne is willing, maybe we could do some business in the future. By then, I could give you a discount, to settle today’s favor."
Trevor sensed something was off and wanted to say more, but Yara’s phone rang.
This call brought relief to Yara. She glanced at Trevor apologetically and then answered the phone.
She hadn’t paid attention to the caller ID, but upon answering, she recognized the voice: "Miss Reagan."
Yara instinctively looked at her phone screen again, instantly becoming tense.
It was Shane Sinclair.
"Director Sinclair." Yara’s throat tightened, and her heart rate quickened slightly, "Why call so suddenly?"
"Nothing much, just couldn’t get in touch with Evelyn, are you with her? Could you let her take the call?"
