Evelyn Clayton’s smile froze a bit.

"Just called home," Evelyn asked unrelatedly, "talked to Sharon, she misses you all. When are you and Iris going to visit?"

Yara Reagan instinctively choked up for a moment but still followed Evelyn’s words, "Very soon. We were supposed to leave tomorrow, but with this situation now, I’m afraid James Grant will have someone track us."

Evelyn let out a soft laugh.

"I told you, he would find out sooner or later. It’s no big deal," Evelyn remained calm, "You should leave as planned, don’t make Sharon wait too long. I’ll return in a few days too, no worries."

"We’ll go as usual." Yara glanced at the clock, "Not much work can be done at the company today, have Rhys Jacobs bring the signed documents for the medicine tonight, and have him come over for dinner as well."

Iris responded with an "oh", "Perhaps we can invite Nadia Archer too? More people make it livelier."

"Alright, alright, got it." Yara held back her laughter, "But don’t keep him waiting too long, or else if Rhys, such a straightforward guy, gets upset, I’ll be without a special assistant."

After Evelyn left Riversend, Gem’s affairs were entirely managed by Yara, and as Gem expanded, Rhys and Yara’s working model hadn’t changed much.

Rhys’s title outwardly was vice president, but in reality, he was still doing assistant work.

Only his salary has increased several times.

"Don’t talk about me," Iris gave her a sideways look, "Since Evelyn officially left Gem, hasn’t your relationship been tense with Franklin? If it weren’t for Franklin thinking of you and mediating, when you took shares from Violet’s hands initially, Violet would have turned against you."

Yara’s eyebrows moved slightly, indifferent, "Am I afraid of her turning against me now?"

Iris’s eyes rolled.

"Honestly Yara, are you really not considering giving Franklin a chance?"
