Flirted Wrong, Married Right
Chapter 682: To Tell the Truth or Not
CHAPTER 682: CHAPTER 682: TO TELL THE TRUTH OR NOT
Meanwhile, outside the slightly ajar door, Yara Reagan looked at the scene inside the room, her eyes reflecting a hint of worry.
After a while, Yara turned and walked towards her own room.
Ever since Sharon was born, this kind of scene was something she could almost always see whenever she was around.
The love Evelyn Clayton had for Sharon could be said to surpass any emotion Yara had ever seen, so intense and overwhelming that it was as if one dared not look directly at it. It was the first time Yara had witnessed such maternal love.
She often saw Evelyn holding Sharon tightly, just like earlier, after the child fell asleep. Sharon, too, was quite content with this, and the mother and daughter were happy together.
Sometimes, when Evelyn was awake, she would hold Sharon like this, watching her quietly, gently stroking her forehead and the top of her head, brushing Sharon’s delicate eyelashes.
Sometimes Sharon would sleep for several hours, and if Evelyn had nothing else to do, she could maintain this state for hours.
Yara had seen mothers who loved their children deeply before, but Evelyn’s maternal love was truly breathtaking.
Sometimes Yara couldn’t help but imagine.
What if, what if one day James Grant found out about the child and wanted to take Sharon away, or if something happened to Sharon herself, Evelyn would absolutely not survive it.
It seemed as if Evelyn had made Sharon her entire mental support.
Sharon made the current Evelyn increasingly different from before. The Evelyn of today was cheerful and composed, even more fond of smiling than before.
All of this was Sharon’s doing.
But the more this was true, the more afraid Yara became.
If, if in the future there was an accident, Evelyn could collapse at a moment’s notice.
Yara suppressed the slight fear in her heart, her gaze growing colder.
She absolutely, absolutely would not allow such a thing to happen!
The next day.
Sharon woke up very early, wriggling in Evelyn’s arms, occasionally letting out a burst of giggles.
Evelyn was already awake but pretended not to be, waiting until Sharon quietly tried to touch her eyelashes before suddenly opening her eyes.
Sharon was startled but then laughed again. Her giggles, like silver bells, echoed throughout the room.
It wasn’t until Yara and Iris Lockwood came in to urge them, saying the sun was already up, that the mother and daughter’s warm morning moment came to a temporary end.
"Sharon, are you looking forward to seeing Uncle Samuel today?"
In the bathroom, Evelyn asked while braiding Sharon’s hair.
Sharon nodded, smiling, "Uncle Samuel gives me diamonds, I like it!"
Samuel Quinn was always generous and had long wanted to be Sharon’s godfather, never holding back when giving gifts.
One of the gifts Samuel gave for Sharon’s birthday this year—a pink diamond crown—was worth over ten million.
Evelyn smiled and asked, "Would you like to consider Uncle Samuel as your godfather?"
"Yes, I would." Sharon answered without hesitation, "Or Uncle Samuel could be daddy, that’s fine with me!"
Evelyn was caught between laughter and tears, "Why? Why do you want Uncle Samuel to be daddy?"
Sharon’s young face showed a bit of longing, "Because Sharon wants a daddy."
Hearing the anticipation in the child’s sweet voice, Evelyn was momentarily stunned, feeling very uneasy.
To keep Sharon happy and innocent, Evelyn never talked to her about James Grant. Whenever Sharon asked where her daddy was, Evelyn would only say he had gone far, far away, making it hard to come back, but he loved her dearly.
To maintain this lie, she even pretended to be the father, sending gifts and letters to Sharon every year.
Sharon never rejected the idea of a father, rather she longed for one very much.
But now, Evelyn was beginning to hesitate.
Should she tell Sharon the truth?
