CHAPTER 684: CHAPTER 684: DOES AUNT AGREE?

The gathering was held at the famous Zenith One Club in Aethelburg.

Because Sharon was there, Evelyn Clayton and the others didn’t enter through the front door but discreetly came in through the back.

As they reached the top-floor private room, just pushing the door open, they heard a cheer —

"Hey, you’re finally here! I’ve been waiting forever!"

Putting Sharon down, Evelyn looked up to see a figure in a floral shirt swiftly rushing towards her, giving her a big hug.

"Evelyn! I’ve missed you so much!"

Before Evelyn could even see the man’s face, she was overwhelmed by the scent of his cologne.

Once the man let go, she said, half-amused and half-exasperated, "Samuel, long time no see."

The flamboyantly dressed man in front of her was none other than Samuel Quinn, his handsome and charming face particularly eye-catching. His flirtatious, phoenix-eyed gaze seemed to hold a smile, and one couldn’t help but feel a bit charmed even if he just looked at you casually.

"Indeed, it’s been a long time," Samuel said with a playful smile, his eyes moving from Evelyn to Sharon, who was looking at him expectantly, and his smile grew warmer.

He bent down to pick up Sharon, teasing, "Our little beauty is here too!"

Just as Evelyn had described, Sharon was quite "reserved," greeting him politely and shyly, "Hello, Uncle Samuel."

Samuel chuckled aloud, "Aw, what’s up with our Sharon today? Not happy? Won’t even give Uncle Samuel a kiss."

"Boys and girls are different!" Sharon said, clenching her little fists, "I’m a girl, I can’t just kiss Uncle Samuel."

All the adults were amused by Sharon, and the atmosphere in the private room was lively.

After they sat down, Samuel sat next to Evelyn, unabashedly flirting with her, "I heard from your brother that you arranged this meeting yourself to see me. So, did you miss me?"

Evelyn couldn’t hold back her laughter, "Yeah, I missed you. Yara and Iris both miss you too."

Samuel feigned surprise, "Really? Last year Iris got so drunk when we drank together, didn’t she curse at me on her way back?"

Around this time last year, Iris had followed Samuel to meet a director. During the drinking session, Samuel deliberately played a prank, not stopping Iris from drinking, and after that session, she was bedridden for a week.

For as long as she was laid up, Iris cursed Samuel.

At those words, Iris rolled her eyes at Samuel, "Cursing you was mild, I came this time planning to beat you up."

Samuel hastily pleaded, "No, no, no, Iris, have mercy. This time I’ve found several great directors for you, made connections, and in a few days, you’ll meet them. They all have new scripts, don’t you want to fight for your star’s future?"

Only then did Iris snort lightly, "Alright, I suppose you’re being considerate."

Saying that, Iris toasted Samuel.

The drinking session warmed up, and amidst the exchanging of toasts, they chatted about recent interesting happenings, keeping the topics light because of Sharon’s presence.

They joked with the child occasionally, maintaining a harmonious atmosphere at the table.

After a few rounds, Shane Sinclair was the first to bring up serious matters.

"Didn’t you always want to be Sharon’s godfather?" Shane said coolly, "Today’s your chance."

Evelyn’s eyes glimmered slightly, taking a small sip from her wine glass.

Yara and Iris also chimed in, not forgetting to ask Sharon, "Sharon, do you want Uncle Samuel to be your godfather?"

Sharon’s sparkling eyes turned towards Samuel.

Samuel seemed incredulous, carefully glancing at Evelyn, "Does Evelyn agree to this?"
