The moment the words were spoken, the friends and family gathered around sipping coffee were all left speechless.

Silas Sinclair appeared calmer, merely glancing at his wife beside him.

Pauline Warren’s expression shifted through worry, shock, and unease, finally becoming faintly pale.

Shane Sinclair also showed a slight change in expression, pressing his lips together as he pondered.

Yara Reagan was at a loss, opening her mouth but unsure what to say, then shutting it.

Iris Lockwood, the most restless among them, muttered, "Are you sick or something?"

She made a gesture to feel Evelyn Clayton’s forehead.

"No fever..." Iris Lockwood seemed puzzled.

Evelyn Clayton smiled helplessly, "I’m fine, I’m okay, don’t worry."

"Evelyn, why do you have this idea?" Pauline Warren finally couldn’t sit still, eagerly looking at Evelyn Clayton, "Do you want Sharon to acknowledge James Grant?"

"No way, impossible." Evelyn Clayton’s tone was resolute, "Just a meeting, but Sharon will always be a Sinclair."

With the Sinclair family, she was able to safely give birth to Sharon.

For so many years, Sharon received endless love and care from the Sinclairs. Evelyn Clayton wasn’t ungrateful; she couldn’t let Sharon pursue so-called ’acknowledging her roots’ just because of blood ties.

Yara Reagan understood Evelyn Clayton’s intention first, and slowly said, "So, you’ve decided to let Sharon know who her biological father is?"

"You could say that. Moreover, Sharon herself agreed to it."

Saying this, Evelyn Clayton recounted the events of the previous night to everyone.

Now everyone got it.

Shane Sinclair also showed a hint of understanding, sipping his coffee thoughtfully, yet still not voicing his opinion.

Pauline Warren, however, remained anxious, "But, if James Grant finds out Sharon is his child, and wants to take her away?"

Silas Sinclair calmly said at this point, "That kind of thing cannot happen."

Shane Sinclair precisely echoed, father and son sharing the same calm resoluteness, "That’s right, cannot happen."

"That’s right. I also won’t allow such a thing to happen. So, mom, rest assured, I am merely respecting Sharon’s wishes; she’s a smart, sensible child, she deserves that respect, right?"

Evelyn Clayton held Pauline Warren’s hand, gently encouraging her.

Pauline Warren seemed a bit calmer, yet still worried, "But if, if Sharon herself wants to go to James Grant’s side? We can’t force her, right?"

"She won’t." Evelyn Clayton smiled, "Sharon even said last night that if you don’t agree to let her meet James Grant, she’ll just take a glance from afar, definitely not making you upset."

Upon hearing this, Silas Sinclair and Shane Sinclair both showed a faintly relieved expression.

Pauline Warren felt both moved and saddened after hearing.

"Such a good child..." Pauline Warren’s eyes reddened, somewhat indignantly, "Why must she have half the blood of someone like James Grant."

"Don’t worry, mom. With dad and me here, even if James Grant uses the entire Grant family’s influence to try to take Sharon, he won’t stand a chance." Shane Sinclair spoke with composure, "Let him see her. Once he knows what he missed, that kind of pain could be his punishment."

Silas Sinclair agreed, "Exactly."

Iris Lockwood sighed, "Uncle Sinclair, Shane, you two are quite cunning, huh."

Silas Sinclair and Shane Sinclair simultaneously frowned, puzzled, "What does ’cunning’ mean?"

"Nothing, nothing." Iris Lockwood laughed awkwardly, "It’s a compliment to you both."

"Alright, then I’ll take it that everyone agrees." Evelyn Clayton stood up, "I’ll find a time to take Sharon to meet him. As for Samuel Quinn, I’ll have to trouble you, brother, to handle it."
