CHAPTER 65: CHAPTER 65: SECOND UNCLE’S SHOCK

"Are you saying you can earn thousands or even tens of thousands a day now?"

"And you replaced my tricycle cart with this Nine-Star Hong Guang RV?"

"And my surgery costs were covered by the money you made in these two weeks?"

Uncle looked Wang Fan up and down and asked in a very serious tone, "Did you... latch onto a rich woman?"

This kid’s got the looks and the physique, latching onto a rich woman would be a piece of cake.

What other way could there be to make money so fast than latching onto a rich woman?

Wang Fan couldn’t help but laugh and denied it: "Absolutely not. I really went out to sell..."

Uncle was shocked: "What? You went out to sell? Latched onto a rich woman would be better than that. How am I supposed to explain this to your deceased parents?"

Wang Fan slapped his own face, already at a loss for words.

He simply pulled his uncle by the sleeve into the house, pointed at the various kitchen appliances inside and said, "I didn’t go out to sell anything! And I didn’t latch onto a rich woman! I made money by selling breakfast and dinner."

Uncle looked at the steamers and unfamiliar cooking utensils in the room, barely believing him about 0.0001%.

Even he had sold snacks before, 300 a day was already considered a lucky day, thousands a day? Go fool a ghost!

Looking at Uncle’s clearly skeptical eyes, Wang Fan stopped explaining.

He directly opened the refrigerator door, took out a few rock-hard frozen rice noodles and some steamed buns from the freezer.

"These are what I made the other day, let me heat them up for you and then you’ll know."

Very soon, the buns were warmed up, and Uncle sat at the table, staring at the fragrant rice noodles and buns with great surprise.

"Did you really make these? You used to only know how to cook instant noodles before."

Wang Fan responded, "The saying goes, ’A scholar who has been away for three days must be looked at with new eyes.’ You haven’t seen me for 21 days, so you should look seven times. Taste it, and you’ll understand why I can make thousands a day."

Uncle picked up his chopsticks and ate a piece of rice noodle.

Even though freezing definitely affected the taste, it still retained about seventy to eighty percent of its flavor.

Just the raw ingredients without the addition of sauces already tasted incredibly delicious to Uncle.

Then he picked up a bun, and the rich flavor of its sauce was extreme; with one bite, the delicious broth burst into his mouth, surpassing any bun he’d ever eaten in his life.

Uncle looked at Wang Fan in disbelief: "Did you really make these? In just 20 days, your skills improved this much?"

Wang Fan chuckled, "Don’t you like reading novels? Ever heard of the Innate Chef Saint Body? That’s me."

Uncle sneered, "Nonsense, novels are all fictional, there’s no such thing as a saint body. You’d better watch out, or you’ll grow red hair when you’re old."

"When are you going to cook again? I really don’t believe this magic."

Wang Fan didn’t answer Uncle; instead, he asked, "Uncle, if I took you on a trip now, where would you want to go?"

The system is on vacation now, so we’ve got to quickly decide on a destination to get this worker bee moving.

Uncle froze, "Why are you suddenly asking this?"

Wang Fan pointed to the Nine-Star Hong Guang RV in the yard and said, "We’ve been holed up in this place for so many years, honestly, it’s gotten a bit stale. Now that we have this guy, wouldn’t it be great to take it out for a spin?"

Uncle scratched his head, a bit embarrassed, "Going for a spin isn’t a problem, but being in the hospital has drained our savings. And what about money?"

Wang Fan patted his chest, "Let’s go, today I’ll show you the power of my buns."

Uncles scoffed, "You’re the old one, I’m still young!"

Wang Fan pushed Uncle into the yard, opened the RV, sat Uncle on the sofa in the living room, then got on the driver’s seat, and drove out of the yard.

Uncle sat on the comfy sofa and casually asked, "How old is she?"

After asking, Uncle thought to himself, he is a modern-minded elder. If it’s true love, he should give his blessings and not meddle like an old fool. He was just curious about how old this lady was that young Wang might be dating, and if she could still have kids...

Wang Fan finally realized what he meant and explained, amused, "I really didn’t latch onto a rich woman! You wait until I sell my buns this afternoon, and you’ll see."

The two strolled around the market, watching Wang Fan greet several familiar vendors, and Uncle began to believe a little more.

But no matter how hard he racked his brains, Uncle couldn’t imagine how you could earn thousands a day selling on the street.

Wang Fan bought beef from the butcher, an old hen, pork suet, and then onions and tofu from a lady vendor, then picked up some cumin seed, Sichuan peppers, and chili powder before heading home with Uncle.

Today’s plan didn’t include anything new, just cumin beef and Mapo Tofu buns.

As soon as they got home, Wang Fan chopped up the old hen and put it in a clay pot to make soup before starting to make buns.

Watching Wang Fan skillfully render oil, knead dough, and prepare bun filling, Uncle was already in shock, his mouth gaping like a hippo, falling deep into self-doubt.

"Have I been in a coma for years?"

"This kid’s skills have surpassed mine by countless levels. Could he truly possess some Innate Chef Saint Body?"

"Have all these years of my life gone to waste?"

"This isn’t science, but it’s sure magical..."

Watching Uncle’s bewildered expression, Wang Fan found it amusing and couldn’t help showing off his skills.

Wang Fan used his right hand to hold the bun wrapper, while his left hand scooped up a spoonful of cumin beef filling, spread it on the wrapper, and quickly pinched the bun closed with deft fingers.

"How’s that, Uncle? Wasn’t lying, was I?"

Uncle sighed, "Was I wrong not to let you into the kitchen to cook instead of concentrating on studies? With your talents, you might have ascended by now if you started a few years earlier!"

Wang Fan chuckled, "What’s the point of thinking too far ahead? If it weren’t for you raising me, I might not have made it this far. Now that I can make some money, let’s enjoy life and appreciate the great landscape of our motherland. Didn’t you always say you wanted to see more of the outside world when you got the chance? Well, now we have that chance."

Uncle laughed heartily, "Alright, alright, I’m definitely following you this afternoon to see how you make thousands in a day. In the future, this uncle will indulge in good food alongside you."

Wang Fan placed the bamboo steamers filled with buns onto the gas stove and then checked on the chicken soup. "You’ll have to save the indulging for later, you can only have bland food for now. Once you’re healthy again, I’ll cook you whatever you want."

The chicken soup had stewed for two hours, the rich and savory aroma filling the house. Although Wang Fan didn’t have the system’s recipe for chicken soup, his Level 20 Chef Level was no joke. Making chicken soup was a breeze for him, and it tasted exquisitely delicious.

Watching Uncle obediently sitting there sipping soup, Wang Fan felt much more at ease.

After all, humans are social creatures; being alone in this world was still too lonely.
