CHAPTER 87: BURNING JEALOUSY

Everything happened so fast, and I felt like a prey being cornered with not much room to move about to get away from him. Raphael moved on top of me, straddling my hips as he captured my wrists in his large hand and pinned them above my head.

"What has gotten into you? Why are you doing this?" I snapped at him, feeling anger rising up inside of me.

"Why did you run off like that?" he asked after a moment of pause, and I could feel the undertone of anger in his voice. My eyes widened when I realized he must have been referring to the fact that I did not return to the party after supposedly taking a toilet break. Of course, that was just an excuse for me to get away from the two of them so they could spend time alone, just as Rosabella had wanted.

"It didn’t seem like you two wanted me at the party. So I figured that I was just in the way and that I should leave to give you two private space to enjoy your date," I replied with a cold edge in my tone.

"I didn’t think my little sister would be so heartless and leave me alone to fend for myself," Raphael said teasingly, though I could tell he didn’t find it very funny.

"Don’t try to pin the blame on me. It looked like the two of you would have fun together," I replied sarcastically while I tried to avoid his intense gaze.

"Is that the conclusion you reached after staring at me the whole time while we were together?" Raphael asked before letting out a little chuckle. I was stunned speechless at his accusing words as I wondered if I really was staring at him the whole time.

"I wasn’t staring at you," I quickly denied.

"Really? I thought you looked quite bothered when you stared at me. It made me think that I might have done something to piss you off," Raphael replied smoothly before his lips curved into a teasing smirk.

"I didn’t do such a thing," I reaffirmed my denial.

"Really? Because to me it seems like you were burning with jealousy," he said as he brought his lips dangerously close to mine.

My body stiffened beneath him as I wondered if that was how I truly appeared to him. Had I been staring at him while feeling jealousy boiling up inside of me when I saw him with Rosabella? Was something like that even possible? His words truly confused me and made me begin to doubt myself and my own feelings. Before I could think of a smart comeback to deny his accusation, Raphael captured my chin between his fingertips before his lips crushed down on mine from above in what felt like a punishing kiss.

His lips moved fervently on mine in a passionate kiss, while my body began burning from the heat of his kiss. I heard myself let out a low moan before Raphael thrust his tongue between my lips and filled my mouth with his sweet taste. Our tongues moved fervently together as the kiss deepened and became more enticing. I closed my eyes as my body began to relax beneath his. Raphael was truly talented at turning me on and seducing me. My body felt like it was singing from the pleasure he was making me feel, and the pleasurable ache in my lower tummy made me very aware that I had started to desire him. As my body naturally surrendered to his seduction, my mind raced in a state of panic at this sudden development. I would be lying if I said that I couldn’t foresee something like this happening when I opened the door to my bedroom for him. However, it was like I had no choice; Raphael would have found a way to enter my bedroom sooner or later, even if I hadn’t opened the door for him.

"Wait. Where is Rosabella?" I asked after breaking our kiss.

I was already gasping for breath from the aftereffects of our demanding kiss, but I had to ask the question that was on my mind. If Raphael was with me right now, that meant he had left Rosabella alone. I had no idea why I felt slightly relieved at the thought that he was with me rather than with her, when in truth, his rightful place was probably by her side instead of in bed with me.

"Does it matter? I don’t want to talk about her right now," Raphael said before his lips approached mine again. This time, I managed to place my hand on his lips before he could kiss me again. My emotions and thoughts raged a massive war inside my head because I knew that I wasn’t supposed to be doing this, and with Raphael of all people. When I came on this trip, I thought that I had made up my mind to help Rosabella achieve the perfect relationship she wanted with her fiancé. Making out with her fiancé was the complete opposite of what I had in mind.

"I don’t think we should," I began protesting. This time, it was Raphael’s turn to place his fingers against my lips to withhold my words.

"It’s your fault for leaving me so cold-heartedly to fend for myself. I wouldn’t have come on this trip if I knew that something like this was going to happen," Raphael said while playfully sounding sorrowful.

"I thought you came because Rosabella wanted you to," I mumbled softly as I found myself feeling slightly embarrassed.

"I came because she told me that you truly wanted to come on a cruise trip," Raphael corrected me.

Is that so? Is that really what happened?

My eyes widened in surprise at his words. It then occurred to me that what Rosabella had been telling me might not have been the truth after all. Her story did not match up with what Raphael was telling me and that made me start to doubt everything that she had told me as well. My mind wandered to how assertive she was when pointing out that the rumors surrounding his family business was in fact true.
