CHAPTER 234: NO CALLS FROM HIM!?

The private room was bathed in the soft glow of morning light filtering through the heavy curtains, a quiet contrast to the wild, neon-lit chaos of the club the night before.

I stepped out of the small bathroom, the clack of the door echoing softly as I emerged, a towel wrapped snugly around my chest, barely covering my thighs. My long dark hair was damp, clinging to my shoulders, the hot shower having washed away the sweat and heat of the night with Sonny, though my body still tingled with the memory of his touch. The air felt cool against my skin, and I kept my eyes down, casually wiping my legs on the mat by the door, trying to shake off the lingering thrill of the morning.

"You can go take a shower now," I said, my voice light but a little shy as I glanced at Sonny, who was still sprawled on the bed, his muscular frame catching the morning light. I focused on the mat, avoiding his gaze, my cheeks warming at the thought of how we’d spent the night—and the morning—tangled together.

"Sure thing, sweetheart," Sonny replied, his voice smooth and teasing as he slid off the bed, walking past me toward the bathroom. I glanced up, and my breath caught. He was completely naked, striding across the room without a care, his chiseled body and tall frame commanding the space. His dick, still slightly hard, moved with his steps, and I stared for a second, a blush creeping over my face, my heart racing with a mix of embarrassment and lingering desire.

Sonny paused, noticing my glance, his dark eyes glinting with amusement. "Is something the matter?" he asked, a playful smirk tugging at his lips as he tilted his head, clearly enjoying my reaction.

"N-no! Nothing. Go fast," I stammered, my face burning as I turned away, hurrying toward the bed to grab my clothes, my towel slipping slightly as I moved. I clutched it tighter, my cheeks flushed with heat.

"Hmm?" Sonny sounded confused for a moment, then let out a soft chuckle, his footsteps light as he headed into the bathroom. The door clicked shut behind him, and I heard the faint shwaaaa of the shower starting.

"Sigh... such a bold guy," I muttered to myself, shaking my head as I sat on the edge of the bed, my damp hair sticking to my neck.

My body still buzzed with the afterglow of our morning, but a flicker of reality was creeping in, the weight of the day ahead. I glanced around, my eyes scanning the room for my things. Wait... where’s my phone? I thought, my heart skipping a beat. Then it hit me—I’d left it in my bag at the main counter downstairs in the club’s hall.

I stood up, clutching my towel, and padded toward the door, opening it just a crack to peek out. The hallway was quiet, the club eerily still in the morning light.

"Hey..." I called softly, my voice hesitant as I spotted a female staff member at the reception desk nearby. I tried to hide my half-covered body behind the door, my cheeks flushing again as I waved to get her attention.

"Yes, ma’am? How can I help you?" she said, walking toward me with a polite smile, though I caught a faint glimmer of amusement in her eyes.

"Umm... actually, my phone’s in my bag at the main counter in the hall," I said, my voice a little sheepish as I laughed nervously. "Can you grab it for me? Ehehe... I kinda forgot it there."

"Ahh, I see... sure thing, just a minute," she replied, her smile widening slightly, a knowing look crossing her face. She probably thought I was a mess for leaving my bag behind like that, but she nodded and turned to head downstairs, her footsteps echoing softly in the empty hall.

The door creaked as the female staff member returned, holding my small black bag in her hands, the faint rustle of groceries inside catching my attention. "Here you go, ma’am," she said, her polite smile tinged with amusement as she handed it over, her eyes flicking to the towel I clutched tightly.

"Yes, yes, this one. Thank you so much," I said, my voice quick and a little flustered as I took the bag, my cheeks warming. I noticed the milk carton and a few vegetables peeking out, and a pang of frustration hit me—I hadn’t even had a chance to put them in a fridge last night, caught up in the whirlwind with Sonny.

The staff member tilted her head, a teasing glint in her eyes. "It’s rare for anyone to leave their phone out like that," she said, her voice light but playful. "You must’ve had a very wild night in there that you forgot about it." She gave a knowing smirk before turning to walk back to the reception desk, her footsteps soft in the quiet hall.

"Ehh..." My face flushed bright red, a smile creeping across my lips despite my best efforts to hide it. Embarrassment burned through me, and I shut the door instantly with a soft clack, leaning against it for a moment, my heart racing. "God, that was awkward," I muttered under my breath, shaking my head as I crossed the room to the bed, the bag still in my hands.

I sighed heavily and sat on the edge of the bed, the towel slipping slightly as I set the bag beside me. The milk and vegetables stared back at me, a mundane reminder of the life waiting outside this room. I rummaged through the bag, pulling out my phone, my fingers brushing the cold screen as I unlocked it, my heart giving a small lurch.

I needed to check if Ezra had called or messaged—something to ground me in reality, to remind me of home. But as the screen lit up, my eyes widened. Nothing. No missed calls, no messages, not even a text from him.

"This is the first time..." I whispered to myself, my voice barely audible, my eyes fixed on the blank screen. "He’s never not called or messaged." A knot formed in my chest, a mix of worry and guilt tightening as I stared at the photo on my lock screen—a picture of me and Ezra, smiling together, his arm around me, both of us laughing on some sunny day that felt so far away now.

My mind flashed to yesterday morning, the way I’d brushed him off, subtly rejecting him when he’d poured his heart out, telling me he’d been in love with me for years. I’d shut him down, not ready to face it, and now the silence on my phone felt heavy, like a consequence. Is he okay? Did I hurt him that badly? I wondered, my heart sinking as I replayed his words, the way his eyes had softened, the vulnerability I’d turned away from. Guilt flooded me, sharp and cold, as I gave a blank stare to the screen, the happy photo mocking the reckless night I’d just spent with Sonny.

The clack of the bathroom door broke the silence, and Sonny stepped out, a towel wrapped loosely around his waist, water droplets glistening on his chiseled frame. His dark hair was damp, sticking to his forehead, and his skin glowed in the morning light.

"Phew, that felt refreshing," he said, his voice light and carefree as he tugged the towel off, using it to wipe his hair, leaving himself completely naked without a hint of shame.

My eyes widened, a blush creeping over my cheeks as I took in his tall, muscular body, his dick catching the light for a moment before I forced my gaze away.

"Oiii, don’t just get naked like that all the time!" I said, my voice a mix of embarrassment and playful scolding, my hands fidgeting with the hem of my skirt.

Sonny paused, glancing down at himself with a casual smirk, his dark eyes glinting with mischief. "Hmm!?" he said, raising an eyebrow. "But you’ve been seeing me naked since last night, Aeri. And you sure enjoyed taking this big thing in you." His voice was shameless, teasing, and he gestured vaguely toward his dick, his grin widening at my flustered reaction.

"Fucker," I exhaled, rolling my eyes but unable to hide the smile tugging at my lips, my face burning as I stood up, trying to act unfazed.

My heart raced, the memory of our night—and morning—flashing through my mind, his bold confidence stirring that reckless thrill again.

Before I could move, Sonny grabbed my hand, his grip firm but gentle, and in one swift motion, he pushed me back onto the bed, my body bouncing against the soft sheets.

He climbed over me, his naked frame hovering close, his damp skin brushing mine, my heart skipping a beat as I gasped. My sweater and skirt felt tight against my skin, a thin barrier between us, and I could feel the heat radiating from him, his dark eyes locking with mine, intense and playful.

"Seriously... you’re so fucking adorable," Sonny said, his voice low and warm, a smirk softening into something more genuine.

He leaned down, his lips crashing against mine in a sudden, hungry kiss, locking us together. My face flushed again, warmth spreading through me as our mouths moved, the familiar heat of his kiss pulling me back into the fire we’d shared all night.

My hands instinctively reached for his shoulders, my fingers grazing his damp skin, my body betraying the spark of desire despite my earlier resolve to leave.
