Chapter 278 - 291 I Think You’ve Opened Your Eyes
CHAPTER 278: CHAPTER 291 I THINK YOU’VE OPENED YOUR EYES
An Ran was woken up by loud wails and shouts from downstairs in the early morning. Besides Mu Xingfeng and her, there were only the servants in the villa. The servants would hardly ever appear before them unless needed and would never make such a ruckus. An Ran, sensing something was wrong, didn’t even bother to change her clothes and ran out in her pajamas and bare feet.
Hearing the noise, Mu Xingfeng disdainfully kicked the loudly shouting man in front of him and looked at the girl on the stairs, "Did they wake you?"
Only then did An Ran realize that besides Mu Xingfeng, there was also a man and a woman in the living room. The man was none other than Lin Junyang, whom she hadn’t seen for days, and the woman was Lin Ruonan, her top target in this mission.
Instantly, she felt an awkward embarrassment, like catching a mistress at the door.
Then she thought that she was the so-called ’official wife,’ a title she had given herself. It seemed that Mu Xingfeng had never acknowledged her from beginning to end; otherwise, he wouldn’t have let her stand in for him on this mission. This realization steadied her heart a little.
Seeing An Ran appear, Lin Junyang’s mouth widened again as he pointed at An Ran in shock while looking at Mu Xingfeng, "Boss, this is too much. I’ve followed you for so many years, working diligently, putting in effort even if there were no credits. You’ve secured your lifelong happiness, and you didn’t even give your little brother a hint?" He lamented that he had come back only to be scolded by his grandfather.
"I thought you had eyes," Mu Xingfeng said, waving An Ran over.
An Ran had intended to go back and change clothes, but since they had already seen her, it didn’t seem appropriate to go back. So, she walked down the stairs in her pajamas.
Fortunately, her elder sister had brought her some fitting pajamas yesterday. Otherwise, she would have been wearing Mu Xingfeng’s pajamas, which would have been even more inappropriate.
Lin Ruonan watched An Ran without saying a word. She had noticed that An Ran emerged from the master bedroom, and her heart felt like it had fallen into an icy lake.
This morning, Lin Junyang had come to check on Mu Xingfeng. Remembering his recent gunshot wound and knowing he had snuck out of the hospital some time ago, she couldn’t help but want to see him despite knowing he had brought a girl home.
She thought, as long as he was fine, it would be enough. But facing the sight of her beloved with another woman, her heart couldn’t help but ache.
Last night, her grandfather had called her to the study and told her that the Mu Family wouldn’t interfere in Mu Xingfeng’s marriage. As long as Mu Xingfeng was willing, his words seemed to encourage her to win him back.
She wanted to tell her grandfather that as long as Mu Xingfeng was happy, she would step aside. Originally, she felt this way. Throughout the journey, she had constantly warned herself that if she loved someone, she should let him be happy. If his happiness was not with her, she would let him go.
But when she saw that tall figure she had dreamt of, all the intentions that had sustained her collapsed in an instant. A voice in her head kept telling her that she loved him, she wanted to marry him, and without him, her life would be meaningless.
She just stood there, watching that petite figure walk naturally down the stairs and approach Mu Xingfeng with a sweet smile.
When Mu Xingfeng looked at her, his eyes were as soft as a gentle spring. That kind of gaze, which she had longed for, was now not hers.
Lin Junyang glanced at his elder sister beside him and exaggeratedly covered his eyes, "Oh my, my dog’s eyes are blinded."
