Mu Xingfeng irritably pinched his temples, glanced at An Ran in the distance again, and turned to go upstairs.

Before evening, Mu Xingfeng left the house with Liu Hu, reminding An Ran to eat well before he went out.

An Ran watched the departing Audi A8, then looked around the empty house, losing interest in reading.

"Young master, Miss An wants to go out for a walk."

Jiang Zhuo is the villa’s driver. While others might not know, Nanny Chen was quite aware; most of the servants here were former soldiers from Mu Xingfeng’s squad, retired military personnel with skills.

An Ran sat on the sofa in despair when she heard Nanny Chen was calling Mu Xingfeng. Based on her understanding of Mu Xingfeng, there was no way he would let her go out alone. After thinking about it, it made sense; he had said he wouldn’t care about her, and it seemed this time he meant it.

Then she thought, she was his girlfriend only in name, so why should he control her? Habit is a frightening thing.

After hanging up, Nanny Chen called Jiang Zhuo, "Jiang, Miss An is going out for a walk later, you’ll accompany her."

"You silly boy, Miss An is the boss’s person. Watch your mouth or the boss will punish you," Nanny Chen threatened half-jokingly, knowing Jiang Zhuo’s character.

"Yes, mission guaranteed." Jiang Zhuo seemingly performed a standard military salute, and Nanny Chen could hear the crisp sound over the phone.

"Nanny Chen, can I go now?" Seeing Nanny Chen finished the call, An Ran asked.

It’s really not easy just to go out.

"Alright, alright. The boss is worried about Miss An, so Jiang Zhuo will take you. Just tell Jiang Zhuo where you want to go."

"Okay then, I’m leaving, Nanny Chen."

When An Ran went out, the car was already waiting at the gate.

Getting in the car, An Ran casually instructed Jiang Zhuo to take her to the busiest part of the Imperial City. She felt she was losing her mind these past two days in the villa.

Not because of Mu Xingfeng, but because of herself.
