Mo Hua had been a good friend of mine for many years, and his dream was to be a good police officer, but now he suddenly quit..."

"Why did this happen?" An Ruo asked, puzzled.

"He told me he was tired and wanted to rest for a while. Actually, he is very talented, and the seniors believe that if he wants toe back, they would let him continue. Miss An, please persuade him toe back to work. I don’t want him to one day regret resigning."

An Ruo nodded, "I understand, but I know he’s not the impulsive kind. Since he has made up his mind to resign, it means he will not have a day of regret."

Police Officer Qian also nodded, "You’re right. I have to go now; I leave Mo Hua in your hands."

    "Mmm."

An Ruo returned to the hospital room and sat down beside him, not knowing what to do, just watching him. It was unclear how much time had passed when Mo Hua groggily opened his eyes and saw her face.

    "An Ruo?"

"You’re awake," she said to him with a slight smile.

"Didn’t you leave? Why did youe back?" he asked, confused.

"I went back to make some food for you. How could I leave you alone in this state?" An Ruo said with a smile.

Mo Hua turned his head and saw the insted lunch box on the table, feeling very moved. He thought she had left, but she hadn’t abandoned him.

    ...

After taking care of Mo Hua in the hospital until nightfall, An Ruo said goodbye and told him she woulde again the next day.

As she left the hospital, she received a call from Tang Yuchen.

Pressing the answer button, the man on the other end asked her, "Where are you now, why haven’t youe back yet?"

"I’ll be back soon," she responded lightly and then hung up the phone.

Back at home, the man sitting in the living room stood up and approached her, asking, "Have you eaten?"

    "Not yet."

"Go and sit down to rest; I’ll heat up the meal for you," he said, and then he went to the kitchen.

Although he clearly saw the insted lunch box in her hand, he didn’t ask her what she had been doing; he wanted to wait for her to tell him. But An Ruo didn’t offer any exnations, and without her opening up, it was even harder for him to ask.

Now, he had to learn to respect her and not be too domineering and selfish, or else their rtionship would remain stagnant.

The next day, An Ruo didn’t go to work but stayed home to cook for Mo Hua. After preparing the food, she carried it to the hospital to visit him.

Mo Hua insisted on not letting his family take care of him, so she could only look after him herself.

She always felt guilty toward him, and his hospitalization was partly her fault, so she felt even more obligated to not ignore him.

After making sure he had eaten, An Ruo went to wash the lunch box.

Mo Hua watched her silhouette, his expressionplex. In his life, he had never seen a woman as kind as An Ruo. Even though they had broken up and were no longer involved, she still selflessly stayed to take care of him, showing meticulous attention without any reluctance.

He understood she was not caring for him out of love. Her demeanor was proper, leaving no room for misconceptions. She was simply dedicated to taking good care of him, and that was it.

But just because the goddess shows no affection, doesn’t mean the charmed doesn’t dream. He had never been able to forget her, to let her go. Now, once again feeling her warmth, he found it even harder to let her go.

An Ruo returned to sit beside him and asked, "Would you like some fruit?"

    "An Ruo."

    "Hmm?"

Mo Hua looked deeply into her eyes and muttered, "Why did God let me meet you?"
