Under Xiao Liu’s careful care, in less than ten days, the little cub had greatly improved.

Its main issue initially was that it had trouble sucking milk, leading to insufficient nutritional intake, which caused its condition to deteriorate.

Now with a dedicated caregiver, alternating between breast milk and formula, the little body that once had visible ribs was slowly becoming plump.

This little creature showed obvious signs of gaining weight; initially, its siblings dared not touch it at all, but now, during its daily sunbathing and outing time, they would take turns keeping it company; along with its loving mother and two aunts who came from afar, the little cub was enveloped in happiness, its condition improving day by day.

“Brother Ying, at this rate by December, the little cub should be able to undergo surgery, right?”

“No problem, but this surgery requires outside assistance; I’ll first ask if any domestic doctors can perform it; if not, I’ll have to ask Professor Everett.”

Xiao Liu pursed her lips and looked up at Chen Ying, “Brother Ying, can I assist with the surgery?”

I can perform this surgery, but not alone, so for the first time, we can call for outside assistance. Chen Ying painted a big, ambitious picture for her; Xiao Liu was delighted and all smiles.

Regarding her situation with Duanmu, Little Sen and Ji Xin had privately informed him before. As an outsider, he couldn’t intervene, but Chen Ying felt that the Jiamu Gully First Aid Station, as Xiao Liu’s backing unit, could give her confidence to live the life she desired.

After uploading the day’s data, Chen Ying went to find Professor Bai to discuss the surgery team matters.

Professor Bai’s team hadn’t performed a neurosurgery before, but there’s a young man in his previous team who is quite good; in the past two years, he’s accumulated a lot of experience following Chen Ying’s senior apprentice brother. Professor Bai thought Chen Ying could include him, to serve as a main surgical reserve.

Xiao Liu’s surgical skills were standard, but she had her unique experience in judging animal conditions; in internal medicine, she could completely hold her own. Moreover, she could take responsibility for postoperative care during the surrounding period of treatment; cooperating with Ruan Mengmeng, there wouldn’t be any issues with the animal post-surgery.

After discussing the surgery matters with the teacher, the topic of the surgery location for the little cub was brought up.

Professor Bai pondered for a while, “I will help you find some people to ask around, you should also privately mention to the big leader, and moreover, you must propose a proper plan for Er Niu’s placement.”

“This is what I’m thinking. The Snow Mountain above Old Northern Gully used to be the territory of a male Snow Leopard; last year, it had an accident and was gone. Later, a female Snow Leopard with cubs started living there. However, the territory of that Snow Leopard isn’t small; the female Snow Leopard couldn’t occupy all the land left by the male. I plan to let Er Niu temporarily live there for a year and a half, and once the little cub recovers, return to the River Source to live.”

Er Niu was a healthy adult female Snow Leopard and also the mother of the little cub; leaders considering Chen Ying’s application would also take this factor into account.

Chen Ying, with his considerable reputation in the animal circle and significant contributions to the research community, as long as his proposal didn’t have obvious shortcomings, generally the leaders wouldn’t intentionally make it difficult for him.

With the surgical issue resolved, now the problem to solve was the Super Snow Leopard and the three adolescent Snow Leopards.

The Super Snow Leopard eagerly wanted to follow Er Niu along, but after a private conversation with Chen Ying, it listlessly consented to let Chen Ying take Er Niu away.

The three adolescent Snow Leopards knew that mom and the little brother were going for treatment; though they were reluctant, they were strong enough to assuredly let mom leave, assuring her they could take care of themselves.

Yellow Fur Snow Leopard and Little Snow Leopard also promised to look after the three little cubs, and with help from the Snow Leopard Cub and lynx cub, as long as they survive this winter, there will be three more robust adult Snow Leopards on the plains by next year.

While Chen Ying was working on persuading other big cats, the Super Snow Leopard pledged allegiance at the door of Er Niu’s animal shed.

“Roar, sweetheart, I’ll wait for your return; I won’t let other female leopards take over your territory, you really must come back!”

Er Niu was feeding the little cub when it heard the Super Snow Leopard’s words; it sighed humanly and soothingly licked the little cub’s head, before getting up, slipping out the door, and sitting squatting in front of the Super Snow Leopard.

“I’m just accompanying the child to the Two-legged Beast to heal; when it recovers, I’ll come back, it won’t be long. If you…if you can’t wait that long, you can go find another female Leopard to have cubs; I won’t mind.”

After all, in the cat world, there’s never been a lifelong commitment to one cat; Er Niu really didn’t mind if the Super Snow Leopard found another female Leopard to have children.

But hearing it say that, the Super Snow Leopard wasn’t happy at all. Despite being a big Leopard, it directly staged a drama of rolling around crying, whining, and acting shamelessly, stirring the little cub inside the room to curiously peek out through the door crack, let alone the other cats and dogs.

At the first sound, everyone took advantageous positions and began to enjoy the spectacle.
