Forgotten Love: Mr. President, Mrs. Fordham Has Rejected You!
Chapter 106: Her Redemption
CHAPTER 106: CHAPTER 106: HER REDEMPTION
Stella Grant walked in.
The bedroom was instantly filled with a special fragrance. This scent was distinctive, unlike any floral fragrance, yet it strangely carried a calming power.
It is said that the sense of smell is the most primitive human perception, with emotional reactions coming first and cognitive evaluations later. When sad, a whiff of fragrance can adjust one’s mood at the fastest.
"Aiden Fordham." She called softly.
He didn’t look up, but she clearly sensed his almost imperceptible tremor.
Stella Grant never imagined Aiden Fordham would have this defeated and desolate side; it seems Andy Lockwood has dealt him quite a blow this time.
She took a deep breath, her voice cold and sharp, provoking him once more.
"Aiden Fordham, are you going to admit defeat?"
"Admit defeat to Andy Lockwood?"
"Admit defeat to this world?"
"And then, completely quit the medical industry, become a coward?"
His originally hollow eyes suddenly filled with intense hatred, glaring at her sharply.
That look seemed to want to devour her.
Stella Grant saw this out-of-control, destructive aura in Aiden Fordham for the first time, causing her heart to clench suddenly.
But her expression remained calm, her sharp tongue fully unleashed.
"Actually, I quite like D, but unfortunately, it couldn’t escape the fate of being destined to fail."
"The Fordham Group, tsk, seems to lack the courage to face all this."
"The once compassionate Aiden Fordham who cared about the world’s suffering is nothing more than empty words; I almost believed it!"
Aiden Fordham’s fists slowly tightened, his knuckles turning white, veins popping.
Stella Grant did not pause, continuing to cut into his most painful areas with verbal knives.
"In just one day, The Lockwood Group’s C has taken 92% of the global market share. Orders are lined up for the next ten years, ten years!"
"Aiden Fordham, do you not care about the remaining 8%?"
"Oh right, that’s only 16 million families! Naturally, Aiden Fordham wouldn’t care!"
She bit heavily on the words "only."
"However, even if D can save just one person, that is its significance; no one has the right to negate that! Isn’t it? Medicine is great not because it can bring money, profits, and has nothing to do with boundaries, race, or wealth!"
"But because its most powerful remedy stems from the healer’s original intention! Where is your initial intention?"
Aiden Fordham’s heart was heavily struck, his eyes swirling with turbulent emotions.
"Aiden Fordham, don’t let me look down on you! If you attend the press conference tomorrow, I’ll be there to support it. If you wish to continue hiding here as a mushroom, then so be it!"
Having spoken, she turned and headed towards the balcony, her powerful words uttered:
"When God closes a door for you, He will surely open a window!"
"Swish—"
She grabbed the thick window curtains and blinds and pulled them open together, the dazzling sunlight pouring in without obstruction, instantly sweeping away the room’s gloom.
Stella Grant stood in the bright light and shadow, her figure upright.
At that moment, there was an unspeakable majesty and aura about her that made him feel small and unattainable.
His heart, after a long silence, slowly began to revive.
She did not look at him again and turned to leave the room.
Not long after, the melodious sound of a piano came from downstairs.
It’s "Canon"!
The piano music floated in the air, gradually becoming more intense from its calm start, with each keystroke heavily striking his heart.
Cold liquid slid down from the corner of Aiden Fordham’s eyes, quickly disappearing.
After an unknown amount of time, Aiden Fordham stood up, walked into the bathroom, shaved his beard clean, and changed into a neat set of clothes.
He had returned to the cold, aloof Aiden Fordham of the past.
He went downstairs, and the hall was empty.
But on the dining table, there sat a bowl of steaming chicken noodle soup, alongside a plate of fresh green vegetables.
He silently sat at the dining table, picked up chopsticks, and started eating slowly.
One bite after another!
...
The next morning.
Stella Grant stood in front of the mirror, wearing a blue professional suit, well-tailored, accentuating her good figure.
Her face wore light makeup, bright and beautiful.
Vivi Sterling walked in, wearing the same outfit, even her hairstyle was deliberately mimicked with some semblance.
She scrutinized Stella Grant up and down, pouted, "Wretched woman, wearing blue looks better than me."
Immediately, she twirled in front of the mirror, admiring herself, "But this outfit looks pretty good too, doesn’t it?"
Stella Grant curved her lips, "You’re the most beautiful."
The two women exchanged smiles, then suddenly pulled a third figure dressed in blue through the door. They all donned wide-brimmed hats of similar style, covering most of their faces.
"Claire is still the prettiest, mainly because... she’s so fresh!" Vivi Sterling pinched her tender cheek.
"Ah!" Claire Norton’s face suddenly turned red.
Stella Grant reached out to hold Vivi Sterling and Claire Norton tightly, "Promise me, take care of mom and dad! Vivi, you can’t always bully Claire."
Claire Norton looked up at her, her eyes rimmed with red, and signed some words, wanting to ask her where she was going and what she was doing.
Stella Grant smiled, "Sister is going to catch a big fish, and this fish is really cunning. Once I catch it, I’ll be back!"
She didn’t expect that D’s data would leak, nor did she expect that she would have to support Aiden Fordham today. Once God N’s identity was exposed, it would be fraught with dangers.
The "Alice Plan," which was originally in secret preparation, had to be activated ahead of schedule.
At the moment, for her, the biggest and most immediate danger came from the man named Erwin.
That guy was ridiculously bold before, stealing core human gene data and accidentally got poisoned by the lab’s protective toxins.
And this poison, under the heavens, only she could cure.
So, Erwin would definitely stop at nothing to find her, at any cost.
This is sure to be a fierce battle, but she cannot retreat. This demon must be caught, or it might trigger a terrifying gene war in the future!
But she never thought that Erwin was not alone, and the sharpest knife had been hanging over her head all along!
She also never imagined that Aiden Fordham would not even want his life for her...
Vivi Sterling’s eyes reddened too, "Promise me, make sure to protect yourself, bring more bodyguards, and never act alone!"
"Alright!" Stella Grant nodded, holding them even tighter!
Before long, a black and a white sedan drove out from the Sterling Family’s garage, one after the other.
In each car sat a woman in a blue suit, wearing a hat.
The people in the two cars surveilling from a distance were instantly bewildered.
"Damn it! They’re identical. Which one is Stella Grant?"
One bodyguard pointed to the car in front, "Follow this one! This is the route to The Fordham Group!"
Another person smacked him on the back of the head.
"You idiot! The enemy knows you’ll think like that, so they create a diversion!"
He ordered fiercely.
"Chase the rear car! Send a team to intercept the front one, don’t let Stella Grant reach the Fordham Group’s press conference site!"
"The boss said, once you capture her, bring her back to The Lockwood Group immediately!"
"Yes!"
As the two black sedans drove off in different directions, the garage door slowly rose again.
A flashy red convertible sports car, its engine growling in a low rumble, leisurely drove out.
In the car, sat a woman in a blue suit, wearing large sunglasses and a chic hat.
"The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind," Carlos Fenton, hiding in an even darker spot, curled his lips and started his car, following unhurriedly.
He thought to himself, sure enough, his senior sister’s ideas are always plentiful.
The red sports car drove steadily on the highway for a while, seemingly sensing something.
Suddenly, the engine roared and the car accelerated sharply!
With a sharp turn, there was a stylish and slick drift, the tires screeching against the ground.
In the car, Mrs. Sterling, through the rear-view mirror, watching the car behind struggling to keep up, smiled smugly.
(Mrs. Sterling: Mrs. Ayers, after a hundred Chapters, I finally have my own name, I’m a bit excited!)
"Want to catch me? Hmph, when I was playing with cars, you were still just a fertilized egg!"
She slammed the accelerator, and the sports car shot out like an arrow, almost shaking off the tail behind it, soon becoming nothing but a little red dot.
Carlos Fenton’s expression changed, quickly pursuing while dialing a phone number.
"The target vehicle suddenly accelerated towards Bayview Road, arrange an interception!"
After successfully luring away the three groups of trackers.
A fourth inconspicuous black business car slowly drove out from the Sterling Residence’s garage.
In the driver’s seat, Charles Sterling, with one hand free, gently patted the woman’s hand on the passenger seat.
His voice was gentle, "Let’s go, daughter, today let dad escort you."
Stella Grant took off her sunglasses, revealing a pair of clear eyes, she smiled, "Thank you, dad!"
Aiden Fordham, I’m coming!
...
