Forgotten Love: Mr. President, Mrs. Fordham Has Rejected You!
Chapter 38: The Boss Cried for You
CHAPTER 38: CHAPTER 38: THE BOSS CRIED FOR YOU
"Since... she has done so much for you, you can repay her in another way. She loves being a star, invest in her, give her money, give her resources!"
"But, it absolutely cannot be with status!"
Steven Fordham’s attitude softened a bit as he continued,
"Don’t forget, in the first year of your marriage, how Stella took care of you. Without her, your eyes wouldn’t have recovered so quickly."
He hoped this young man would remember this gratitude, though it’s feeble, it’s still a bond between husband and wife.
Aiden Fordham’s eyes were cold.
It was the special medication his mentor found in F-Country that cured him, what did that have to do with Stella Grant?
"You must listen to me this time. Only by announcing your marriage can this scandal be quickly quelled. As for Miss Kensington, I’ll have someone send her abroad to help her start over."
This was Steven Fordham’s greatest concession.
"I cannot..." Aiden Fordham clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white.
Announcing Stella Grant’s identity means publicly acknowledging Corinne Kensington as the third party, essentially pushing her into an abyss.
How could he bring himself to do this?
"You must do it!" the old man shouted, "The Fordham Family cannot collapse under your hands!"
"Thump, thump, thump."
The sound of knocking broke the tense atmosphere in the office.
The door was pushed open, and Secretary Cole walked in.
"President Fordham, the press conference is ready."
Aiden Fordham gave her a cold glance, "I’m not available now!"
Turning, leaving!
"This damned brat!" A roar erupted from behind!
Kensington Family Mansion.
The luxurious living room lay in disarray.
The throw pillows were torn apart, and cotton was flying everywhere.
The expensive mobile phone’s screen was shattered, discarded in the corner.
Corinne Kensington, her hair disheveled, curled up on the sofa, her eyes swollen like walnuts, her face still streaked with tears.
Again and again she dialed that well-remembered number, but the receiver always emitted the cold tone of a busy signal.
"Beep... beep... beep..."
She suddenly slammed the receiver to the ground, making a sharp crashing sound.
Her mind buzzed, filled with her agent’s caustic scolding.
"My gracious lady! Wake up! Now everyone online is defaming you, endorsements are dropped, the roles are canceled!"
"Are you still counting on President Fordham? If he really cared for you, he would have come out to clarify things for you by now!"
"Unless he publicly acknowledges you, giving you status, otherwise, expect to be completely sidelined! Understand?"
Sidelined...
Those words pierced Corinne Kensington’s heart like poisoned needles.
She shivered all over, grabbed another spare phone and dialed Aiden Fordham’s number again.
Still, no one answered.
Despair engulfed her like a tide.
"Cry, cry, cry! All you do is cry! You’re such a jinx!"
Helen Warren rushed over, pointed at Corinne Kensington’s nose and cursed loudly,
"How did I give birth to such an incompetent thing as you, look at how those people online are scolding you? Shameless mistress! Seductress!"
She stomped her foot in exasperation, "I told you long ago, you must hold onto President Fordham! Absolutely hold onto him! Now look, trying to steal a chicken only to end up losing the rice!"
"Shut up!" Corinne Kensington screamed in collapse, covering her ears with her hands.
"Shut up? If it weren’t for your incompetence, unable to hold onto a man’s heart, would you be bullied by Stella Grant like this?"
"That little bitch, completely disregarding the gratitude of those years of upbringing, went all out, one day, I’ll definitely deal with her properly!"
Helen Warren’s voice grew harsher, "You must pull yourself together now! Go find President Fordham! Beg him, cling to him! No matter what, you must make him help you, otherwise your career is totally ruined!"
In the midst of the commotion, the mansion’s front door was violently pushed open.
Mr. Kensington walked in with a livid face, exuding a terrifying anger.
He saw the disarray of the living room and his daughter curled up on the sofa, and his anger surged to the top of his head.
"Bang!"
A loud slap landed hard across Corinne Kensington’s face.
Corinne Kensington was struck, her head turning sideways, blood immediately seeped out from the corner of her mouth, her face burning with pain.
She covered her face, looking at her father in disbelief.
"Dad..."
"You still have the nerve to call me Dad!" Mr. Kensington trembled with rage, pointing at her nose and scolding.
"It’s all because of you, you malignant pest! Shameless creature!"
The briefcase in his hand was smashed to the ground, documents scattered everywhere.
"Just now, all the business partners called to terminate contracts! Terminate contracts! Do you know what this means?"
"The company’s funding chain is about to break! In less than half a month, the company will face bankruptcy! Bankruptcy!"
Brendan Kensington’s eyes were bloodshot, like an enraged lion.
"You’ve chased Aiden Fordham for so many years, and what for? Ending up with the reputation of a mistress! Now having implicated the entire family!"
"You still have the nerve to cry here? What good is crying! Useless!"
Her father’s curses, her mother’s reproach, Aiden Fordham’s absence, the scorn of netizens...
One by one, like countless knives, strung Corinne Kensington up.
Her eyes were burning with insane hatred.
She glared fiercely at her father, then scanned over her mother.
She suddenly turned and stumbled upstairs, her back filled with madness and resentment.
Stella Grant, since you want to drive me to death.
Then... we’ll perish together!
...
Hospital
Around six o’clock in the evening, Stella Grant finally opened her eyes.
The white ceiling made her realize she was in a hospital, her heart tightened as Aiden Fordham’s face flashed in her mind, she quickly sat up, looking around.
Vivi Sterling pushed the door open and came in, a complex expression on her face.
"You finally woke up, how long has it been, and you’re back in the hospital again!"
Vivi Sterling’s voice was gentle as she reached out to help her sit up.
"Why am I here?"
Stella Grant’s voice trembled a bit, feeling rather weak.
She clearly remembered that at noon, Aiden Fordham came to see her, and they had an argument.
"You don’t remember yourself? If you had been brought in any later, you would have been completely burnt!"
Vivi Sterling exaggeratedly remarked.
Keegan Lindsey knocked on the door and entered, his eyes lit up as soon as he saw the awakened Stella Grant.
"Madam, you finally woke up, you really scared... the boss."
Scared Aiden Fordham?
Keegan caught a hint of doubt in her suspicious gaze.
"Madam, you had a high fever at noon, it soared to 41.2 degrees! The boss personally brought you to the hospital, he rushed into the hospital screaming for help, trembling all over!"
"You don’t know, he held onto you the entire time, still guarding against the media and paparazzi, hard preventing anyone from taking your photo."
"Tsk tsk tsk, the boss, he’s really MAN this time."
Keegan blurted out in a torrent.
"While you were receiving IV fluids, he stood there motionless, his eyes red."
He pointed to the corner of the room then cupped his mouth, lowering his voice, "I guess, he cried!"
"I’ve followed the boss for so long, I’ve never seen him so tense, losing control."
Vivi Sterling and Stella Grant exchanged glances.
They felt like they’d heard a cold joke!
"Keegan, you don’t go into showbiz is truly a great loss."
What an actor!
Vivi Sterling glared at him, a proper sycophant.
"Madam, you must be hungry, I’ll go get you some food."
Keegan rubbed his head, chuckled, and backed out.
As soon as he stepped outside, he quickly called Aiden Fordham, "President Fordham, madam has woken up, but her eyes look red, I reckon... she wants to see you!"
"I’ll come over immediately!"
Keegan clenched his fist, making a YES gesture.
This house, without him, would surely fall apart!
