CHAPTER 61: CHAPTER 61: I WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU

He looked at the vibrant vegetable garden, at the backs of the elderly couple supporting each other as they walked towards the house.

"They prefer the pastoral life, not the taste of hospitals."

"So I gave them this place."

"Everything here was built up by them, bit by bit, with their own hands."

An air of heaviness permeated the atmosphere.

Stella Grant paused momentarily in her actions, then continued to pick up another carrot.

The rabbits, oblivious, continued to fight over the food in her hands.

The fragility and resilience of life formed a strange contrast at this moment.

"Do you want to save him?" Stella asked, still not looking at Aiden Fordham.

Aiden Fordham remained silent for a few seconds.

"Yes."

A single word, simple and direct.

"But, I’m not God."

He added a sentence, carrying a nearly cold sense of reality.

"Medicine has its boundaries."

Stella looked down at the rabbits. "Indeed, boundaries..."

She recalled many moments, many instances of helplessness.

"There’s only one God N in this world." Aiden Fordham’s voice was flat, as if he were stating a fact. "Even if God N were here, what good would it do?"

"There’s only one God N, two hands, how many people can he save?"

There was no worship in his words, only a rational analysis, perhaps even a sense of challenge.

Stella Grant lifted her head, for the first time seriously looking at Aiden Fordham.

In the night, his features were distinct, his gaze deep.

"If you were God N, what would you do?" she asked, the question abrupt yet logical.

Aiden Fordham met her gaze without a hint of hesitation.

"I’d make the formula public."

His response was firm and decisive.

"I’d select qualified pharmaceutical companies and authorize production."

"Let all eligible hospitals participate in clinical trials."

"Save as many as we can."

There was no thought of greed, no consideration for the fame and profit that monopolization would bring.

Only the simplest, most direct, and most widespread public welfare.

Stella Grant’s heart stirred slightly.

This man seemed so different from what she imagined.

What she thought of Aiden Fordham was that he stood at the pinnacle of capitalism, a cold, profit-seeking businessman.

Yet at this moment, the words he spoke carried a warmth that transcended personal interest, a kind of... love she had never felt from him.

Perhaps this was his true self?

Or maybe, this was just his idealized state?

"Aiden Fordham, remember everything you said today, you will accomplish it!"

It sounded like her encouragement to him, more like some sort of... commitment.

She looked at him with a smile, her eyes glistening with tears.

She was so pure and beautiful, like the wind, like clouds, like the moonlight before the bed!

Damn it! He actually had a desire to hold her and kiss her to death... fiercely...

She just looked at him, her gaze calm yet carrying a certain penetrating quality, lightly asking.

"Aiden Fordham, what was your initial motive for studying medicine?"

He thought she didn’t understand him; it turned out she knew everything.

He was silent for a few seconds, his Adam’s apple moving.

Actually, it was to save the suffering people of the world, to save one family after another shattered by the disease.

His father’s childhood dream was to study medicine, only to be forced to give it up to take on the family business.

But his thin lips opened, speaking disingenuously, "Just to save one person!"

"And you, what was your initial motivation for studying medicine?" he countered.

He knew now, she was the junior apprentice sister.

As for whether she was God N, he was still searching... searching for answers!

She seemed to pause, her eyelashes lightly trembling.

Then, she met his gaze, clear and unrestrained. In fact, her reason for studying medicine was just to save one person!

But she spoke disingenuously, "Of course, it is to save all the sick and suffering of the world!"

She said it lightly, but the purity in her eyes was unmistakable!

With all the people of the world, she walked alongside him!

He stared at her, his gaze heated, mixed with an indiscernible tenderness.

Rare beauty again interrupted by a phone call.

After answering the call, Aiden Fordham helped her into the car, saying he had to go out for a while.

Back at the main house, Stella Grant went to the study where the doctor cleaned and dressed her wound.

She picked up a pen and wrote something in her notebook.

At night, she received an email from Vivi Sterling.

The email contained a photo of Corinne Kensington sitting on Aiden Fordham’s lap, the two drinking together.

Looking romantic yet melodramatic!

She casually replied: Don’t send me these anymore, my trash bin is full.

The other side replied with a sentence, "Hee hee, I think anger is a force that rises upward!"

Stella Grant didn’t respond.

Andy Lockwood also sent her an email with a picture of the starry night, a crescent moon in the photo.

Only one sentence, "Take care of yourself, wait for me to pick you up!"

For some reason, reading this sentence made her heart ache.

But she didn’t reply, directly shut down the computer.

At eleven at night, she was asleep and suddenly felt a strange sensation.

It seemed like a puppy was licking her face and ears. She opened her eyes to see Aiden Fordham’s handsome face and was startled.

Stella Grant’s heart was in her throat, instinctively wanting to push him away.

The air was filled with the smell of alcohol; he seemed to have drunk too much.

Yet his large hand reached out first and clasped her nape, the force irresistible.

His deep eyes locked onto her, filled with complex emotions, possession, struggle, and a burning passion she couldn’t understand.

Then he lowered his head and kissed her hard.

Not a gentle touch, but a punishing plunder.

His lips and tongue domineered her mouth open, conquering, giving her no chance to breathe.

The intense male scent instantly engulfed her.

Stella Grant’s mind went blank, leaving only the pain and numbness from her lips.

He kissed her deeply and forcefully, as if he wanted to crush her and swallow her whole.

This was just like a familiar signal from the past... a signal of intimacy with him, long-lost yet familiar!

His kissing skills were great; Stella Grant almost forgot to resist, being led along as he deepened the kiss and reached to unbutton his own shirt, one button, two buttons...

Stella Grant’s mind suddenly cleared and she shouted at him, "Aiden Fordham, what are you doing? I’m... I want to sleep!"

He lowered his head, his warm magnetic voice landing in her ear, "I’ll sleep with you!"

Stella Grant’s pupils constricted, chastising, "Who wants to sleep with you, get out!"

At this point, Aiden Fordham had finished unbuttoning, revealing his strong chest and six-pack abs, truly tempting.

"Aiden Fordham, get out." Stella Grant forcefully pushed him away, turning her head.

He reached out, holding her head in place, making her face him.

"Stella Grant, I want you... give me!"

He stared at her, his finger brushing her bruised lips, eyes full of desire.
