“The kids are sleeping in the next room; the kitchen was unbearably hot from cooking today; it’s cooler next door.”

The two sisters-in-law decided to simply lock up the house and sit next door.

The siblings sprawled across the bed, each sweating profusely from the heat.

“The weather here is stuffy and hot, unlike back home where you can find cool shade under trees and in the shadows; here, when it gets hot, there’s nowhere to hide.”

“Exactly. It feels so humid.”

“Right. If it starts raining, the clothes won’t dry, not to mention they’ll get musty.”

While chatting quietly, the two sisters-in-law fanned the children who had sweated through their sleep.

“Mommy, why do elder sister and younger sister have such big toys? Ours are so small.”
