CHAPTER 122: WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE

Today was the fourth day after the release of the album, and as predicted, it wasn’t slowing down by any means.

Dayo was about to call Valery to organize security for a show — Who Wants to Be a Millionaire — before remembering he had an assistant now.

He smiled at the thought, then called Sharon to handle it.

The show had always been one of Dayo’s small dreams, even in his past life, though he never had the chance to go. This time, he decided to do it — and, of course, he had a plan behind it. Dayo was always five steps ahead.

This version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire was slightly different — there were more interactions between the host and the contestant, unlike the one on Earth.

The drive didn’t take long. When they arrived at the venue, Dayo’s face lit up with an excited smile, surprising Sharon.

"Dayo, why are you so excited?" she asked, curious. She knew how calm and expressionless he usually was.

"Hehe, it’s just a small dream of mine to always attend this show, so yeah... I’m excited," he said, chuckling.

She looked surprised but nodded. A staff member came to usher them in, and after makeup and prep, it was time.

On the stage, the lights dimmed, the cameras panned, and the music kicked in — that iconic dramatic theme every American family recognized.

"Who Wants to Be a Millionaire!"

The crowd erupted in cheers.

The host, Orion Crestwood — tall, charming, with his usual wide grin — stepped on stage, waving to the audience.

(In the real world, the show is hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, but in this fictional world, we’ll go with Orion.)

"And tonight," Orion began, "we have someone very special joining us. You’ve seen him everywhere this week — even I can’t seem to get rid of him. His album The Other Side is breaking records across the globe, and now he’s here to test his brain instead of his voice! Please welcome Jason Dayo — a.k.a. JD!"

The crowd went wild.

Dayo walked in calmly, dressed in a simple black jacket and white shirt. He waved, smiling as the cheers grew louder. After shaking Orion’s hand, he took his seat.

Orion smirked. "I gotta say, man, this week belongs to you. Your album’s everywhere, I can’t get rid of your face on my screen — and now you’re here on my show! What’s the goal, huh? Take over the world?"

The crowd laughed.

Dayo grinned. "Hey, Orion, it’s not my fault people love this handsome face of mine, right?"

"YESSS!" the audience screamed.

"You see?" Dayo teased. "They’re not complaining — looks like it’s just you."

"Uh-huh, this is my show, boy, isn’t that right, people?" Orion said, pretending to protest.

"NOOO!" the crowd roared.

"Oh, you’re in trouble, Orion. Seems like I’ve taken over your show, huh?"

"Haha, nice try, Dayo. Let’s see if you can take control — because I’m coming for you."

"You can try," Dayo shot back, grinning.

The audience laughed hard.

Orion clapped once. "Alright, you know the rules — 15 questions, 4 lifelines, and 1 million dollars on the line. Ready?"

Dayo leaned forward slightly. "Let’s begin."

The light deemed and Orion voice came up.

"Oh really enjoy it while it last then is B your final answer?" Orion teased.

"Final answer."

"You’re correct!" Orion said. "You’ve made it to $100!"

The crowd clapped. Dayo nodded and said to Orion in a taunting but payful tone "Bring it on."

"I would see how long you have that crooked smile of yours."

This resonate with the audience they never expected dayo to be this fun but they love the playful drama.

"Now, question number two, for two hundred dollars," Orion announced dramatically.

"Which of these animals is known for its ability to change its color?"

"Hehe nice one Dayo" Orion said.

The audience cheered loudly. A few fans in the crowd shouted, "Smart and fine!" which made Dayo laugh and rub his temple shyly.

Orion smirked. "You sure you didn’t hack the questions before coming here?"

"Hey, don’t be jealous, Orion. Genius runs in the family," Dayo replied, grinning.

"Yeah, sure, the family of overachievers," Orion muttered playfully. "Alright, Mr. Genius, let’s see how long that brain of yours stays calm."

"Final answer?"

"Final."

Question 5 – $1,000 (First safe zone)

The lights dimmed slightly as the tension grew. Orion leaned forward.

"Alright, things are getting real now. One thousand dollars, and you’ll at least walk home with something if you fail after this."

He read carefully:

The crowd hummed.

Dayo tilted his head slightly, then said with calm certainty, "Albert Einstein — B — final answer."

"Correct! You’ve secured $1,000!" Orion shouted.

The audience clapped wildly, some fans standing up to cheer.

Orion leaned closer. "Oh, he’s thinking now, people. I can smell the smoke."

Laughter followed.

After a moment, Dayo looked up. "It’s 2005 — final answer."

"...You sure?"

"Positive."

The audience roared with applause.

Question 7 – $4,000

Orion’s smile turned a little more serious. "Alright, Dayo. You’ve handled the easy stuff. This one digs a bit deeper."

He read from his card slowly, enjoying the pause. "In the first Aurelian Aquatics at the Summer Concord Games, which year did swimmer Kairo Hallow win the historic gold that broke the ten-year record?"

A) 1998

B) 2004

C) 2012

D) 2016

The crowd hummed. A few people whistled — they knew this was tougher.

Dayo made a face. "Oh no. Swimming? I have to be honest... sports isn’t my strong suit."

Orion grinned. "You do have lifelines. Phone a friend, 50-50, or ask the audience."

Dayo nodded. "Phone a friend. My brother Jeffrey knows this stuff. He Swims for his school."

"Alright, place the call," Orion said, flipping his phone to the studio line.

Dayo dug his phone out, hands steady, and hit the button. The studio lights dimmed a little so the call could come through clean.

A crackly voice answered after the beep. "Yo?"

"Jeff! It’s me. I’m live on Orion’s show — need a quick lifeline. Question’s coming through."

Jeffrey laughed. "Bro, live? Okay, do this. Read it."

Orion read the question again for the line.

Silence on Jeffrey’s end for a heartbeat. Then he said, "Hmm. Kairo Hallow... I’m leaning toward 2012 — I think so."

Dayo held the phone to his ear and smiled. "You think so?"

"Yeah, I think so. Pretty sure," Jeffrey replied.

Dayo’s grin turned teasing but firm. "You better not think so, Jeff. If this one messes me up and you’re wrong — remember you’re in my house. I’ll come to your room and whack your ass myself."

There was a beat of shocked laughter from the studio and a muffled, embarrassed laugh from Jeffrey.

"Alright, alright — okay, okay," Jeffrey said. "2012. C. I’m going with C."

Dayo looked at Orion, then back at the phone. He took a breath, meeting the cameras.

"C — 2012. Final answer."

The lights held on him. The studio waited.

"And you’re...."
