From a Talentless nobody to An SSS Class Dragon
Chapter 142: Easy Tower Scaling(1)
CHAPTER 142: EASY TOWER SCALING(1)
It was the first time in awhile that I get the chance to prove how strong I really am. Climbing the tower will definitely show that, a lot more than anything else has recently.
So climbing the tower was the current plan until we reached the top. I wouldn’t be stopped like the last time.
Floors 1-5 were the easiest ones to deal with so far since they didn’t really have any strong enemies in them. Most of the enemies were pretty low on scale.
The floors were a bit more unique than the previous tower though, some of them actually had a bigger variety when it came to biomes.
I wish the I could’ve gained a bit more experience from the floors but it wasn’t really anything special.
[06] Snowfall.
It has been a long time since I’ve really gotten to experience snow. There hasn’t really been any snow since the start of the collapse.
I don’t really know much behind the changing of the weather but it kind of sucks. Rain still occasionally falls but that’s about it. Winter is definitely a season I miss more than the others.
Most would think it’s crazy but I don’t.
Snow is pretty, who wouldn’t like the winter season. It was one of my favorite seasons before this all happened.
Before you got stuck in the abyss? I hope you’ll be able to leave there some day, even if I won’t be able to hear you anymore.
Yes, before I got stuck in the abyss. I’ll be around for a long time so you have nothing to worry about.
There’s too much to figure out with your power, I couldn’t leave you behind.
We’ll have to figure it out. I definitely don’t want you to be stuck in the abyss forever, it wouldn’t be the best life for you. I’ll figure out everything that I can with this power so that you can live a life outside of it all.
Thank you Rokuro.
"It feels kind of weird to see snow." Velia says while kneeling down on the ground.
I watched as she ran her hand through the snow for a few moments. Akina and Ghost didn’t really seem to have much to say about the snow around us.
"I haven’t seen snow in a long time so I agree. It is kind of nice though." I reply while looking down at the ground.
We’ve only climbed 6 floors since we first entered the tower but there’s a lot more left to go. The first boss is only 4 floors away as well.
I’m not sure I know what to expect when we reach that floor since these have all been pretty easy so far. There hasn’t been any problems with the enemies on these floors yet.
Most of the monsters have seemed to be a lot weaker than the ones I’ve seen outside of the tower.
"Snow... It really is pretty." Ghost says softly.
"I forgot that winter hasn’t been around in a long time for you guys." Akina chimes in.
"Not since the collapse happened. It hasn’t been the same since then." I respond with a bit of disappointment.
I kneeled down and ran my hand through the snow as well, taking a moment to enjoy it. There probably wouldn’t be too many opportunities for me to enjoy something like this.
There’s still a lot to get done so I don’t want to wait around too much.
After a couple of minutes it was finally time to traverse the floor. Our way out shouldn’t be too hard to find here since there isn’t a whole lot to see.
It was literally just an open area with snow all around us, not that it really made a difference. A door was pretty easy to find since they stick out like a sore thumb usually.
"The door is over there." Akina points towards a door in the distance.
"We can leave this floor then." I respond while heading for the door.
I’ll definitely miss the snow here since we haven’t had any snow in a long time, but maybe one day it’ll be possible again. I also don’t know what other parts of the world hold.
I haven’t really gotten a chance to explore the other countries, Not like they’ll be too different from ours. Everyone got lumped into the same category when the world went to shit anyway.
There probably isn’t a real big difference with how things look anywhere else.
I take it that countries are a lot like continents? I’m not very familiar with how your world is set-up.
You could say it is a lot like that. I’ve considered going to the other countries to see if they handled this alright. At least that was a thought a long time ago.
I’ve come to accept that no one can be doing much better than us. Elyndra is kind of a prime example of a city that’s doing extremely well.
Caelmaris isn’t doing too bad either though.
Each of the cities seem to be doing well in their own ways, at least I’d say so.
I’m sure that they are. Ashvalis is still kind of struggling to handle certain situations but that’s about it. They have backup from Caelmaris if things get too bad anyway.
"Time for the next floor, right?" Ghost questions.
"Yes. I want to get to the top of this tower." I answer with a bit of a serious tone.
I pushed the door open, letting the bright light shine through the opening. The next floor didn’t seem to be that intense looking either but it definitely felt different.
[7] The Lone Warrior.
It didn’t seem that bad until I realized that someone was standing in the distance, a figure who seemed to be holding a sword. The field around this floor seemed to be comprised of flowers and some beautiful cherry blossom trees.
Definitely a nicer floor than I expected but the person ahead might be an enemy we have to deal with.
"What should we do about the guy with the sword?" Akina asks with a bit of caution in her voice.
"Probably best to find out if he’s peaceful or not." I answer while staring at the man in the distance.
I don’t want to kill someone who could be innocent so I’ll play this a bit more cautious than usual. We’ll see what his intentions are for the time being.
Maybe it’ll be possible to go to the next floor without killing anyone this time around. That would be a nice change of pace for once.
So we made our way towards the man in the distance, he didn’t seem to be hostile by the way he stood. As we got closer I could see that his sword was actually a nice katana.
He seemed to have a bit of a samurai look to him with the type of armor he was wearing but I couldn’t understand how people ended up here.
"Are you going to fight?" I ask with a serious tone.
He looked towards me slightly, just enough to see how close I was. I can tell that he’s also playing it cautiously.
"You don’t seem to be a monster so I don’t think a fight will be necessary. I won’t stop you unless you want a fight." He answers with a calm tone.
"We won’t have to worry about you attacking us from behind?" I question with a cautious tone.
"No, that would be dishonorable." He answers without hesitation.
"Thank you for letting us pass without an issue then." I say with a genuine tone.
We made our way past him since we had no reason to fight against him, not right now at least. I’ve come to be on guard when it comes to people in the tower.
I still don’t know if Akina will randomly turn on us at some point in time, she’s here out of pure curiosity at the moment.
But it didn’t take long for us to reach the next door... This time the door was all black with some red engravings all over the door. A bunch of different symbols and writing covered it.
Nothing that I could understand but it definitely could be a pretty bad message for all I know.
"The next floor will probably be a fight." Akina says while gripping her pistol.
"How do you know?" I ask curiously.
"Everything on the door is warning about the danger on the next floor. We’ll be facing some sort of demon. There’s no indication how strong it is or what kind of demon." Akina answers with a bit of irritation in her voice.
Something about this is bothering her? I didn’t really expect a fight to be something bothersome but maybe it has to do with the demon.
That’s one very similar fight though. Velia and I fought against a demon before a boss, I think.
It’s been quite awhile since that fight happened so I’m not entirely sure that it was before or if it was the boss itself.
[8] The Guard.
