From a Talentless nobody to An SSS Class Dragon
Chapter 18: Where to?
CHAPTER 18: WHERE TO?
I didn’t really think about it much at first... Mostly because I forgot that I looked a bit different from my usual appearance. Well, a lot different probably if I was to take the scales into consideration.
After taking a piece of the dead monster we made our way back out of the dungeon within a short period of time. Luckily we came out with the sun still shining down on us which was a good thing.
I’m not sure I know what to do about this appearance problem of mine just yet since I’ve never seen anyone look like a monster before. I’m sure a hunter would try to kill me on the spot if I walked into a city looking like this.
"I’m assuming people wouldn’t be okay seeing you like that so we need to find a way to fix the problem." Lilly speaks up with a slight smile on her face.
"I have an idea." Ghost says while grabbing some stuff out of her bag.
She pulls out some bandages and begins to wrap them around my arms, surprisingly nothing seems to burn through it.
"Is there anything else that makes me seem like a monster?" I question with a bit of concern in my voice.
"Not at the moment, everything else about you seems okay." Ghost responds while observing me.
These bandages are only a temporarily solution so I’ll have to figure out something long term. Maybe controlling this somehow could reverse it a bit so it’s not obvious to people.
Actually, should I even care about it showing or not? It might sound dumb but what if it’s something that’ll keep people the hell away from me.
Sigh. I can’t do that right now, not for awhile at least.
"Where to?" Lilly asks with curiosity in her voice.
I haven’t really thought about where to go since the dungeon was the plan originally and now I’ve kind of found something. Awakening this power was helpful but I don’t know if that’s the answer to my question about my purpose.
I shake my head and look around, taking a few glances left and right.
Another city further west could be a good place to go for the time being until I figure out the next plan. There’s very few cities within the world or at least this part of the world for sure.
I don’t want to travel around the world since there’s no purpose to that yet, I’ve got to find out what I need to do here. With this power I could do great things... Lots of great things but I don’t know how to fully utilize it at all.
There’s a lot of learning for me to accomplish first before I can start taking on more, especially with learning to control this.
"Hello? Do you have an idea of where to go or not?" Lilly asks with a bit of an annoyed tone, maybe even a bit obnoxious.
Not my favorite kind of person to deal with...
"We’ll head out west more, I believe a city is out that way. I’d prefer to avoid going back to Central Ashvalis for now." I answer while looking to the left.
Maybe someone in Elyndra might have some ideas on what could be done, this world shouldn’t have to live in such a chaotic state at all times.
But the cause of everything hasn’t been seen in a long time... That damn star thing that appeared in the sky.
Without that in sight it might be a bit more tricky to figure out how to bring the world back from this. Fighting monsters forever doesn’t feel like it has to be our fate.
"Works for me. Let’s stop wasting time here." Lilly says as she walks past me.
We all began to start walking for the city in the west, I couldn’t really recall its name since I’ve never really been there. That city was a lot more put together than Ashvalis and actually holds a lot of powerful hunters within.
At least that’s what rumors said around Ashvalis for the longest time. The city is said to be more refined with actual walls that protect those inside.
I can’t guarantee that the rumors are actually right or not until we get there but I’m curious to see this city. I’m sure a guild is there for us to check out as well, might be time to take on something.
Even if I’m learning to control this power... I need to test it more against monsters so I should at least earn something for it. We all have to eat and we’ll need a place to sleep.
I smack my head after realizing something.
"Can’t people see those horns of yours Lilly!?!?" I ask with a bit of panic in my voice.
She just turns around with a smile on her face. "Nope." A blunt answer like that and she’s back to walking.
Nothing else, I guess I’ll have to trust that no one can see them. Not that I understand how that works whatsoever.
"I’m sorry I didn’t help back there... Against that monster." Ghost says quietly to me.
I forgot all about that at first since she is capable of fighting and did have a weapon... But fear is a normal response for everyone.
"Don’t worry about it, I don’t think I would’ve had this happen otherwise." I reassure her.
Would I have been able to awaken such a power without ghost being out in a dangerous situation? I have the power in me to become an SSS ranking person in this world.
Would that have been possible though? I guess I’ll never have to worry about the answer to that since it happened.
"Thank you Rokuro." Ghost says with appreciation in her voice.
After a couple of hours we had finally reached the outskirts of the western city, the walls were definitely a lot bigger than I expected.
"Holy shit." I say while staring at the towering walls before us.
