Jiang Feng asked, “What fillings should I leave?”

“Five of each.”

“Alright.”

Cui Hao turned and left first.

Only Jiang Feng and Rong Shuang remained in the shop.

Rong Shuang looked at Jiang Feng’s focused expression, her face flushing as she said, “There’s something I want to tell you.”

Outside, the light rain continued.

“Later,” Jiang Feng replied. “Buying the car took up time today. I need to hurry and finish making the buns first.”

At 4:30, customers had already started lining up outside the shop.

Rong Shuang stood up. “I’ll go pick up Youyou.”

Rong Shuang’s face turned red as she whispered, “I really like you and want to be with you.”

“So, if people think there’s something between us, it’s not a misunderstanding—it’s the truth.”

She had finally confessed!

Jiang Feng paused.

He was surprised.

He had sensed it before.

Rong Shuang did have some feelings for him.

But he hadn’t expected her to be so direct about it!

Rong Shuang rose slightly on her toes, looking into Jiang Feng’s eyes. “What do you think?”

“Can you be my boyfriend?”

Jiang Feng snapped out of his thoughts and shook his head. “No.”

The smile on Rong Shuang’s face stiffened slightly. “Why not?”

Jiang Feng sighed. “You and I aren’t a good match.”

“How so? Do you still have feelings for your ex-wife?”

“No,” Jiang Feng said. “This has nothing to do with her.”

“Then… do you like someone else?”

“No.”

Rong Shuang’s nervous heart relaxed a little.

“Then why?”

Jiang Feng explained, “There are many reasons.”

“Tell me. I’ll solve them one by one.” Rong Shuang’s face showed determination.

Jiang Feng was a little helpless. “I’ve been divorced and have a child.”

Rong Shuang stepped forward, leaning on the counter as she said seriously, “I don’t mind.”

“Youyou probably won’t mind either.”

“So you don’t have to worry. You can consider me as having no family.”

Jiang Feng looked at her and shook his head again. “My family probably wouldn’t agree either.”

“Why? What don’t they like about me? I’ll change.”

Jiang Feng thought for a moment. “My mom is very picky, and my dad has a bad temper. To put it simply, it wouldn’t go well.”

Rong Shuang suddenly grabbed Jiang Feng’s collar, pulling him closer.

Jiang Feng could see his own reflection in her amber eyes.

If she leaned forward just a little, she could kiss him.

“You’ve listed so many reasons, but you haven’t said you don’t like me.”

“You don’t hate me, do you?”

After hearing her words, Jiang Feng took half a step back and admitted honestly, “I don’t hate you.”

“But you could find someone better.”

“There is no one better.” Rong Shuang said firmly. “You’re the only one, and the best.”

Jiang Feng didn’t respond.

Rong Shuang continued, “I’ll handle your concerns for you.”

“You don’t have to do anything. Just let me treat you well, okay?”

As long as she could openly flirt with Jiang Feng and spoil him without him rejecting her, her goal for today would be achieved!

Jiang Feng sighed. “Let’s go pick up Youyou first. She’s probably waiting.”

“Okay.” Rong Shuang smiled. “When can I meet your parents? Tomorrow?”

Jiang Feng was exasperated. “Let’s just go.”

Rong Shuang stepped out of the shop, stretching as if the whole world had become brighter!

Even though her confession hadn’t succeeded, she hadn’t been driven away either!

From now on, she could openly flirt with Jiang Feng!

When she arrived at the kindergarten gate, the teachers were surprised. “Teacher Rong, what are you doing here?”

“I’m here to pick up Youyou.”

“Huh? Where’s her dad?”

“He’s busy at the shop. I’m helping out.”

The teachers exchanged glances, some with envy.

“So… are you and her dad getting closer?”

“He’s really handsome, just divorced once.”

“He’s a good guy too. Out of all the parents, he’s the most punctual when picking up his kid, and he treats his daughter well. If I weren’t married, I’d be interested too.”

“Youyou is super cute. I’d love to have her as my daughter.”

Rong Shuang chatted with them for a bit.

Soon, Youyou came downstairs.

“Teacher Rong!”

Youyou ran over, surprised. “I thought I wouldn’t see you today! Did Daddy go see you?”

Rong Shuang crouched down and smiled. “He did. Thanks for tipping me off.”

“Hehe.” Youyou giggled. “Did Daddy buy the car?”

“He did. Want to go see it?”

“Yes!”

“Let’s go.”

Rong Shuang held Youyou’s hand and handed the pickup card to Teacher Zhou.

The kindergarten had strict rules—one card per child.

Even if the person was a teacher or a familiar parent, without the card, they couldn’t take the child.

Rong Shuang was no exception.

The two went to the parking lot to check out Jiang Feng’s new car.

“Wow, it’s so cool!”

Jiang Youyou was very satisfied with the family’s new car.

“After this, should we go back to the shop? Your dad’s probably busy.”

The rain had lightened.

Rong Shuang said to Youyou, “Youyou, I have something to tell you.”

Youyou’s face fell. “Why not?! I’ll flick his forehead!”

Rong Shuang asked, “Would you dare? I can lift you up to reach him.”

Youyou instantly backed down. “Just kidding. Let’s keep this between us, Teacher Rong. Don’t tell Daddy, okay?”

Rong Shuang said, “Your dad is a very responsible person. He thinks about a lot of things.”

“He didn’t accept me yet, but he didn’t push me away either. So, I want to pursue him.”

“If we end up together, the three of us will be a family. Would you be okay with that, Youyou?”

Rong Shuang cared deeply about Youyou’s opinion.

Even though Youyou was just a child, children had their own thoughts too.

Youyou’s face was serious. “As long as you treat Daddy well and don’t act like his ex-wife did.”

“I like you, Teacher Rong. I want you to be my mom.”

To Youyou, Rong Shuang—who had been with her since she was three—felt more like a mother, someone she could rely on.

“Then it’s settled. You have to help me.”

“Okay! If you end up with Daddy, can you buy me ice cream?”

“One a week.”

“Deal!” Youyou counted on her fingers. “Daddy lets me have three a week. With yours, that’s four!”

Rong Shuang picked Youyou up, smiling. “If I become your mom, there’ll be even more perks!”

“Let’s go back to the shop!”

She was going to see her future boyfriend!
