CHAPTER 37: CHAPTER 37: MASTER HAWTHORNE PROTECTS HIS WIFE AGAIN

Mrs. Lynch added sarcastically from the side, "Didn’t you already get a marriage certificate with President Hawthorne? The Hawthorne Family is wealthy; you’re now a wealthy lady. How could you possibly have no money?"

Stella Fletcher couldn’t help but speak for Vivian, sneering, "So what if she’s a wealthy lady? What’s it got to do with you? You made the mistakes yourself and yet want Vivian to pay for them. Dream on!"

Vivian took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down, "I will find the best doctor to treat Dad. As for you, don’t even think about getting a single penny."

Having said that, she pulled Stella and turned to leave.

"Stop!" Little did they expect Finn Lynch to grab Vivian’s bag, trying to snatch it outright, "Vivian, you have to hand over the money today, or you’ll not be able to leave!"

"Let go!" Vivian couldn’t help but pull back her bag.

Seeing this, Stella quickly stepped forward to help, "Finn Lynch, this is robbery! Do you believe I’ll call the police to arrest you?"

"Son, why waste words with them? Vivian’s bag must have money in it; let’s grab it quickly."

As she spoke, Mrs. Lynch also stepped forward to help, and the two sides began pulling at each other.

"What are you doing?" Mr. Lynch, who was on the hospital bed, angrily fell off the bed, his face flushed, and coughed violently.

"Stop all of you!"

At this moment, Caden Hawthorne’s angry voice came through.

Caden glared fiercely, breaking in with several bodyguards, and his powerful presence immediately made everyone stop.

Finn Lynch and Mrs. Lynch looked at Caden in fear, unconsciously letting go of Vivian’s bag.

Caden walked up to Vivian in a few strides, protecting her behind him, his eyes coldly sweeping over Finn Lynch and Mrs. Lynch. "You have some nerve, daring to openly rob my wife’s bag in broad daylight!"

Finn stammered, "Ho... President Hawthorne, we had no choice. My dad is sick and needs money."

Mrs. Lynch quickly echoed, with a forced smile, "That’s right, President Hawthorne, we’re really at the end of our rope. Besides, Vivian is my daughter; isn’t this robbery then?"

Caden snorted coldly, "Being at the end of your rope is no excuse for wrongdoing. Vivian already said she would find the best doctor for her father; you’re still not satisfied."

Upon hearing this, Vivian was surprised to realize he had been there since then.

Stella angrily said, "President Hawthorne is right; they are simply greedy. Vivian has already been more than generous to them."

Then, Stella touched Vivian’s elbow excitedly, "Vivian, your husband is so handsome! Even more so in person than in photos."

Seeing Stella’s enamored expression, Vivian couldn’t help but shake her head helplessly.

"Seems like the last time’s lesson hasn’t been enough! Want to try again?" Caden glared coldly at the mother and son, a warning filling his eyes.

"Dad..." Seeing Mr. Lynch roll to the ground, Vivian quickly ran over and helped him up.

Caden gestured to the bodyguards behind him, who immediately stepped forward to help Mr. Lynch back onto the bed.

Lying in bed, Mr. Lynch looked at Vivian and Caden, his face full of shame. "Vivian, I’m sorry for causing you trouble."

Vivian’s eyes reddened as she gently held her father’s hand. "Dad, please don’t say that. Take care of your health; I’ll handle the rest."

Looking at Vivian, a wave of pity surged in Caden’s heart.

Is this how the Lynch family bullied her when he wasn’t around?

Thinking of this, Caden turned to look at Finn Lynch and Mrs. Lynch, his tone icy cold, "From now on, you are not allowed to harass Vivian and her father anymore. If I find you being excessive again, I won’t be lenient!"

He always follows through on his words; if it weren’t for them being Vivian’s family, he wouldn’t have shown any mercy.

Finn Lynch and Mrs. Lynch nodded repeatedly in fear, not daring to show a trace of defiance.

"President Hawthorne, we’re wrong."

"As for Uncle Lynch, I’ll find the best doctor for him, and I’ll cover his medical expenses. You can leave now."

After saying this, Caden pointed towards the door, signaling them to leave quickly.

Though unwilling, Finn Lynch and Mrs. Lynch didn’t dare protest, so they left dejectedly.

Watching Caden’s dominating stance protecting his wife, Stella felt full of envy. "Vivian, you’re so lucky. Look at how much President Hawthorne cares for you; what else are you worried about?"

It was precisely because Caden was so good to her that she had a burden on her heart; she always felt she owed him too much. How would she repay him in the future?

Caden arranged for the best doctors and nurses, even having bodyguards stand outside the ward, worried that the Lynch family might come to cause trouble again, disturbing Mr. Lynch’s recovery.

After ensuring Mr. Lynch received the best treatment, Vivian and her companions finally left the ward.

Coming out of the hospital, Stella sensibly said, "Vivian, I’ll head back first."

"Stella, I’m sorry for trouble you today; let me take you home!" Vivian said guiltily, feeling that Stella suffered alongside her.

"It’s okay." Stella patted her shoulder, speaking righteously, "Sisters in trouble, three knives and six holes are a must. Don’t be polite! You and President Hawthorne get along well; I’m waiting to attend your child’s full moon banquet!"

The wedding might not be possible, but attending the child’s full moon banquet was a must for her.

Stella smiled after speaking and winked at Vivian, "Next time, I want to be your child’s godmother."

"Deal." Vivian grinned and instinctively extended her hand.

Stella reached out to high-five Vivian and then turned away coolly.

Watching Stella’s departing figure, Vivian felt warmth in her heart. She knew that no matter when or where, Stella would be there for her, her solid support.

"Is she your friend?" Caden asked unconsciously when he saw Vivian continuously gazing at Stella’s departing back.

Vivian nodded and playfully teased, "She’s my best friend, named Stella Fletcher. She’s the one who called me last time. Didn’t you ask me if it was a male friend or a female friend, and now you’ve met her?"

Caden nodded slightly, his gaze softening. "I can see she cares about you. Having such a friend around makes me feel at ease."

Vivian’s mouth curled up, her eyes full of gratitude. "Yes, Stella has always treated me well. In my hardest times, she’s always stood by my side without hesitation."

Caden gently held Vivian’s hand, his tone firm. "From now on, with me here, you won’t go through those past experiences. I’ll protect you and let you..."

"Let me what?" Vivian looked at him intently, eager to know the answer.

"Let you be happy." Caden struggled to say these words.

When the words reached his mouth, he chose to rephrase, "No longer let you suffer."
