From Ignored to Adored: The Heiress Melts the Self-Restrained Boss
Chapter 60: If You Want to Look, Just Look Boldly
CHAPTER 60: CHAPTER 60: IF YOU WANT TO LOOK, JUST LOOK BOLDLY
William Warren was somewhat surprised and quickly waved his hand, saying, "President Hawthorne, that’s not necessary. I can’t let my personal matters delay work."
Caden Hawthorne gave a light smile, stood up, patted William Warren’s shoulder, and said, "Work is important, but family is equally important. Consider this my wedding gift to you; go home and spend time with your wife."
William Warren was deeply moved, almost to the point of tears. Indeed, since President Hawthorne got married, he’s become more humane.
"President Hawthorne, you’re really wonderful. I’ll definitely work hard and live up to your expectations."
The former President Hawthorne was decisive and swift, instilling fear in everyone at the company. Whenever he got angry, no one dared to make a sound.
Now, President Hawthorne is radiant, as if he has transformed into someone else. He’s no longer so cold and ruthless but has gained a touch of warmth.
It seems that Mrs. Hawthorne must be an outstanding supportive wife.
Caden Hawthorne smiled, "Go, and enjoy these two days."
At this moment, Caden Hawthorne was more determined to spend more time with Vivian.
He did not want to neglect her because of work, especially as she is now pregnant, sensitive and prone to tears. He wanted to ensure she always felt his concern for her.
Hartswell Manor.
When Caden Hawthorne returned home, Mrs. Hawthorne and Riley Hawthorne were already asleep, so he went directly to Vivian Lynch’s room.
He quietly opened the door and found the light was still on in the room. Vivian Lynch was not in bed but had fallen asleep slumped over the desk.
Caden Hawthorne walked over, noted her hand still holding a pen, and the floor littered with discarded drafts, indicating how hard she had been working for the jewelry design contest.
Caden squatted down, picked up the drafts from the floor, and started looking through them one by one.
Clearly, her drawings were good, but in Vivian’s mind, they might not have reached her expectations.
Seeing Vivian’s exhausted appearance, Caden felt a pang of heartache.
He stood up, gently removed the pen from Vivian’s hand, then carefully carried her to the bed.
In her sleep, Vivian seemed to sense something and moved slightly. Caden tucked her in and sat quietly by the bed, watching her.
Half asleep, Vivian slightly opened her eyes and saw Caden sitting by the bed, looking at her tenderly.
Vivian quickly sat up, rubbed her eyes, and murmured, "Caden, you’re back?"
"Didn’t I tell you not to overwork yourself? How did you fall asleep at the desk?" Caden’s voice carried concern for her, mixed with rebuke.
Vivian lowered her head modestly, somewhat embarrassed, and said, "I thought I’d draw a little longer, but I didn’t realize I’d fall asleep."
Caden gently held her hand, his eyes full of heartache. "You mustn’t do this again; your health is important. You’re pregnant and can’t be too tired."
Vivian nodded and obediently said, "I know, I won’t do it again."
Caden reached out and stroked her hair, speaking softly, "Get some good rest. Don’t rush the competition stuff. Actually, even if you don’t participate or work, I can take care of you."
As Aethelgard Circle’s heir worth billions, was he afraid he couldn’t support a little wife?
Vivian was momentarily stunned, then smiled and said, "I know you can support me, but I still want to do what I love and not completely depend on you."
Caden looked at her understandingly, "I understand your thoughts, but take care of your body and don’t exhaust yourself. Otherwise, I’ll be heartbroken."
With those words, Caden brought Vivian’s hand to his lips, giving it a gentle kiss.
Vivian blushed and leaned unconsciously into Caden’s embrace, feeling his warmth and care.
"Caden, it’s so good to have you by my side. Rest assured! I’ll take good care of myself."
Holding her, Caden suddenly spoke softly, "There’s a charity banquet tomorrow night. Come with me!"
Vivian was a bit surprised, "A charity banquet? Can I? I’m pregnant right now; won’t it be inconvenient?"
Caden gently caressed her hair, "It’s okay, I’m with you. Besides, this charity banquet is very meaningful. I can also use this opportunity to publicly announce our relationship."
Vivian hesitated, "Won’t that be too grand?"
Announcing their relationship in front of the Aethelgard business moguls—it sounded too grand to Vivian even to think about it.
"No, you are rightfully Mrs. Hawthorne. Who would dare to say otherwise?"
Upon hearing this, Vivian reluctantly nodded, "Alright, then I’ll go prepare."
Caden chuckled, pinching her cheek, "No need to prepare too much, just be yourself."
Vivian immediately responded, "That won’t do, it’s the first time you’re taking me to such an important event. I must prepare well so I don’t embarrass you."
Saying this, Vivian intended to get up and prepare, but Caden gently pressed her back onto the bed, "No rush, we’ll worry about it tomorrow. Sleep is more important now."
With that, Caden lay down beside Vivian.
Vivian was somewhat shy due to Caden’s actions, gently pushing him, "What are you doing?"
Caden held her close, whispering softly in her ear, "I’m tired, let’s sleep."
Vivian, with a flushed face, stopped talking, but her heart was filled with sweetness.
In the tranquility of the night, they embraced and slept, feeling each other’s warmth and love.
The next day, sunlight peeked through the curtain gaps, bathing the room in a soft glow. Vivian woke up slowly, seeing Caden still asleep beside her, his face appearing exceptionally handsome in the morning light.
Vivian quietly watched Caden, her heart filled with happiness.
She gently extended her hand, tracing Caden’s features as if touching a precious artwork.
Caden seemed to sense Vivian’s movements and slightly opened his eyes.
Seeing Vivian watching him, he immediately grabbed her restless hand, the corners of his mouth lifting. "Vivian, were you just stealthily touching me while looking at me like that?"
Vivian blushed and immediately pulled her hand back, saying, "I wasn’t."
"Yes, you were, I saw it just now."
Saying this, Caden looked at her with interest, "If you want to look, just look openly. If you want to touch, just touch."
I have to say, Caden was really handsome, the contour so sharply defined like a model.
"Who wants to touch you? So shameless..."
Before she knew it, Caden suddenly pounced on Vivian, pinning her under him.
Vivian froze, and Caden grabbed her fair hand, guiding it slowly to his solid chest.
"W-what are you doing?" Vivian blushed instantly.
