CHAPTER 75: CHAPTER 75: YOU’RE PREGNANT, YOU CAN’T DRINK

York Family Villa.

"It’s infuriating, we were so close to succeeding." Yara plopped down on the sofa, face full of anger, "That Vivian Lynch, who knows what kind of trick she’s pulled on Caden, that he’s so protective of her."

Yvonne, hearing her sister’s complaint, didn’t look much better. She sat on the sofa, tightly clutching her hands, saying nothing.

Just then, Mr. and Mrs. York returned home.

"Who upset my precious daughters?" Mr. York saw both of them with gloomy faces and approached them in confusion.

Mrs. York couldn’t help but ask, "Didn’t you two go to the jewelry competition? How was it? Who won first place?"

Yara puffed up angrily, "Who else could it be? That bitch Vivian! Our plan was nearly successful, but it was ruined by some judge named Silas Everett who appeared out of nowhere."

Mr. York frowned, "Yara, watch your language."

Yara pouted defiantly, "It’s true though. What’s so good about that Vivian? Why is everyone protecting her? Caden is, and so is that Silas Everett."

Yvonne then spoke up, "Dad, Mom, there was an issue at the jewelry competition today. Sinclair Group plagiarized Vivian’s design, and Jessica Hart also bribed one of the appraisal staff. Later, Vivian’s design won first place, and our York design only made it into the top ten. Also, my sister’s bracelet broke, almost causing Vivian to fall, but Caden caught her in time, and they both fell together. Fortunately, the baby in Vivian’s belly is fine."

Mr. and Mrs. York exchanged glances, a look of surprise on their faces.

Mrs. York asked, "Yara, what happened? Why did you do such a thing?"

Yara didn’t expect Yvonne to tell on her in front of their parents. She pouted, looking dissatisfied, "Mom, I did it for my sister. She clearly likes Caden, but that Vivian snatched him away. I just wanted to embarrass her, so Caden would see her true colors. Who knew it would turn out like this?"

Mr. York’s face darkened, "You girls are so confused. Who is Caden Hawthorne? Doing this will only anger him and bring trouble to our family."

Yvonne lowered her head and said, "Dad, we know we were wrong. But what should we do now? Caden has already warned us. Will he hold a grudge against our family because of this?"

Seeing Yvonne’s worried face, Yara said indifferently, "Sis, what are you afraid of? Although our family isn’t as wealthy and powerful as the Hawthorne Family, we’re still famous merchants in Aethelgard. Caden wouldn’t make a big deal out of such a small thing, would he?"

Mr. York pondered for a while and said, "Let’s put an end to this matter. You girls should stop provoking Caden Hawthorne in the future; you know what kind of temperament he has."

At this point, Mr. York paused and then looked at Yvonne angrily, "Also, Caden Hawthorne is already married. You need to give up on him! Don’t go looking for him again."

Upon hearing this, Yvonne lowered her eyes, her eyes gradually reddening, "Dad, I understand."

Seeing her sister so wronged, Yara couldn’t bear it and quickly said, "Dad, why are you so harsh? Sis didn’t do anything wrong. What’s wrong with liking someone?"

Mr. York glared at Yara, "You still have the nerve to talk! If it weren’t for your reckless actions, would we be in this mess? Both of you need to behave yourselves from now on."

Seeing this, Mrs. York quickly tried to mediate, "Alright, alright, stop arguing. What’s done is done, and talking about it now won’t help. Yvonne, Yara, listen to your father and don’t provoke Caden Hawthorne and Vivian Lynch any further. Our family can’t withstand such turmoil."

Although Yvonne and Yara were unwilling, they dared not talk back.

They silently nodded, indicating they understood.

As night fell and the lights illuminated the manor.

At the brightly lit dining room in Hartswell Manor, the family gathered to celebrate Vivian Lynch winning first place in the jewelry competition.

Riley Hawthorne had invited Zachary Sutton to visit the house, and Grandpa Hawthorne had also returned from his countryside villa to celebrate when he heard of Vivian’s victory.

The atmosphere in the dining room was warm and lively. Grandpa Hawthorne smiled broadly, nodding in praise of Vivian, "Vivian, you truly bring honor to the Hawthorne Family. This championship is well-deserved!"

Vivian smiled a bit shyly, "Grandpa, it’s all thanks to everyone’s effort. Without Caden and everyone’s support, I couldn’t have achieved such a good result."

Caden looked at Vivian tenderly, his eyes full of love, "Vivian, you’re too modest. Everyone sees your talent and hard work."

Riley excitedly added, "Sister-in-law, you’re amazing! You’ll be my idol from now on."

Zachary Sutton smiled watching the family, genuinely happy for Vivian, "Sister-in-law, congratulations. Your work is outstanding. I believe your future will be even brighter."

As Zachary also addressed her as ’sister-in-law,’ Vivian glanced at him and Riley sitting together, finding them well-matched.

It almost gave her the illusion that they were a couple.

"Thank you, President Sutton," Vivian said gratefully with a smile.

"Don’t call me President Sutton, sister-in-law. Just call me Zachary," Zachary said with a smile.

Hearing this, Vivian instinctively looked at Caden.

Caden nodded at her, indicating she could call him that.

Vivian then smiled shyly, "Alright, Zachary."

At this moment, Mrs. Hawthorne presented a gift to Vivian.

"Vivian, this is a gift from mom to celebrate your championship win in the jewelry competition today."

Vivian was pleasantly surprised to receive the gift, her eyes filled with emotion, "Thank you, mom. You’re too kind."

Mrs. Hawthorne gave her a gentle smile, "You deserve this. Everyone sees your hard work and talent, and I’m proud of you."

Caden watched the warm interaction between Vivian and his mother, a slight smile on his lips.

In this moment, he understood what happiness truly meant: being with the woman he loves and his family together forever.

"Come, come, let’s toast to today’s champion, my sister-in-law, for winning first place,"

At this point, Riley raised her glass, stood up, and couldn’t help but cheer.

Everyone responded, raising their glasses in unison, "To our champion."

Grandpa Hawthorne beamed, "Vivian, keep up the good work; Grandpa is proud of you."

Vivian, filled with emotion, her eyes shimmering with tears, said, "Thank you, everyone. I’ll continue to work hard."

Under the lights, the family’s smiles were especially warm.

Just as Vivian raised her glass to drink from it, Caden, sitting beside her, couldn’t help but take her glass, softly saying, "You’re pregnant now; you can’t drink."
