“I’m afraid if I say it, you can’t do it!” Lonnard pursed his lips. “How about thinking it over again?”
Delh shook her head. “I cannot do that. I will write this preface myself.”
Lonnard just felt inexplicably bummed out.
He snorted softly and said, ‘Listen carefully. You know Xandrov has a younger sister, don’t you?
“That girl studied cytology and was your mother’s student back then.
“Unfortunately, after the Reedshaw family encountered difficulties, your mother changed her ce of employment and stopped epting students.
“This became a source of regret for that girl. For so many years, she has always wished to learn from your mother again.”
Josie felt a sudden jolt in her heart.
In her previous life, she seemed to have heard of an incident where the youngest daughter of a renowned medical family remained unmarried her entire life.
Her greatest wish was to once again be a student of her mentor.
Josie thought, ‘Could the widely publicized incident in the media back then have been about Miss Longley?‘
Delh said with some hesitation, “This matter concerns my esteemed mother, so I must seek her opinion first.
“As long as she agrees, Miss Longley may visit the Reedshaw family at any time.”
Lonnard nodded, “Make a backup of Josie’s thesis materials and leave a copy for me.
“Regardless of whether your mother agrees, as long as you are willing to ask her, I will write the preface!”
“Thank you very much, Mr. Longley!” Delh said, pulling Josie along to express their gratitude.
After they got out of the Longley family, Josie still did not understand Lonnard’s intentions.
After getting into the car, she said, “Professor, it does not matter if Professor Longley does not

“I am merely an intern, and my thesis is not worthy of having a preface written by such a distinguished authority in medicine.”
“If I say you are qualified, then you are!” Delh waved her hand, signaling her not to overthink.
She continued, “This is the first research paper on traditional medicine that you have written as my student.
“I was so low–profile during the first half of my life that I was not well–known in the industry.
“To achieve global recognition for our research, in addition to ensuring the rigor and authenticity of the paper’s content, it is essential to have the leadership and endorsement of an authoritative figure in the field.
“Professor Longley is the perfect one.”
Delh patted Josie’s hand.
She added, “I do not favor hype and dislike the media. However, your remarksst timepelled me to acknowledge one point.
“If we wish to expand the influence of traditional medicine in the minds of people worldwide, we must still rely on the celebrity effect.”
“I understand!” Josie nodded earnestly. “I will write this paper diligently, ensuring that I do not bring embarrassment to you. I will also strive to be worthy of the preface written by Mr. Lonnard.”
Delh smiled and said, “Don’t worry about what Mr. Longley said. It’s not that he’s unwilling to write this preface for you.
“He is merely using this matter to provide both the Reedshaw and Longley families with a face–saving way out.”
Josie did not understand this remark.
She thought, ‘Could it be that there has once been conflict, estrangement, or perhaps something else between the two families?‘
Josie also did not dare to ask any further questions.
After they had left, Xandrov looked at Lonnard in confusion.
He asked, “Dad, why put yourself through this again? My sister has probably long forgotten

what happened back then.”
Lonnard snorted coldly.

He said, “If she had truly forgotten, would she have stayed away from our country for so many years?
“Not returning is one thing, but she also didn’t marry. Do you call this forgetting? Clearly, she still has that young man on her mind.
“I’m almost at the end of my life. If I don’t find a solution soon, how can I keep her in the country?”
“But as for the Reedshaw family…,” Xandrov felt an indescribable worry.
Lonnard waved his hand and said, “My daughter wants to be Mrs. Reedshaw’s student. You know how much she liked her back then.
“If she had truly been unwilling, Delh would have refused outright.
“As long as this hasn’t been rejected, there’s still hope. Besides, if that young man had really fallen for someone else, it would be impossible for him not to have married after all these

“He must have a reason he can’t talk about!
“I suspect that this unspoken secret is something even their family is unaware of. What do you think it could be?”
