Game of the World Tree
Chapter 635
CHAPTER 635
【 QUICK! HURRY UP AND HUG THAT THIGH! 】
—
The moment Yeye’s message appeared in the chat group, all the veteran players in the party responded excitedly, especially the Druid and Mage, leaving Yeye and Nana utterly confused.
“Who exactly is she? Do you seniors know her?”
Nana typed curiously into the chat group.
“Of course we do! She’s one of the most low-profile big shots in the game. From what I’ve heard, she’s a close friend of Moe Moe’s Guildmaster, Little Salty Cat. What’s more, Miss Féng is ranked fifth on the overall leaderboard. She’s the strongest Druid in ElvKing!”
The Druid replied in haste.
At the same time, the Mage added, “No, you can’t really judge her true strength just by looking at her leaderboard ranking. Miss Féng usually plays solo and rarely takes part in any events like large-scale raids, so her placement doesn’t include team battle points.”
“But if you exclude those points and rank everyone based on their pure solo combat performance alone, I’m sure her ranking would definitely be higher! At the very least, even Little Salty Cat, who’s fully decked out in six divine artifacts, has never once beaten Miss Féng in a duel! And most of the top-ranked mage players—directly or indirectly—have all received guidance from her!”
“If you don’t believe me, open the leaderboard and check the fifth name yourself!”
This mysterious senior is that strong?
Yeye and Nana exchanged wide-eyed glances, eyeing the calm and elegant woman standing across from them.
Without hesitation, the two opened up their system menu and checked the Combat Power Leaderboard.
And sure enough, sitting there at fifth place was the name “Féng.”
Driven by curiosity, they clicked on Miss Féng’s username on the leaderboard, which redirected them to her personal game profile page.
What greeted them was her avatar, which showed the system’s default icon, and a dropdown menu revealing her character model and equipment that perfectly matched the elegant woman they had just met.
However what’s odd was that not a single post or personal update could be found on Miss Féng’s profile page at all, which was an extreme rarity for someone as high-ranking as her.
From all the gaming videos Yeye had seen, nearly every high-ranking player showcased their achievements on their profile like a social feed. These big shots usually filled their pages with personal updates and highlights of their leaderboard placements.
Yet unlike the other top-ranking players, her profile contained absolutely nothing at all.
In a sense, the fact that even he, an avid diehard fan of Elven Kingdom, had never heard of this top-five player, the number one Druid in the game, spoke volumes about just how low-key and mysterious Miss Féng truly was.
Even so, despite not posting at all, Miss Féng’s profile still had over 30,000 likes and comments, though that number was modest compared to other, more famous ElvKing players.
For instance, Little Salty Cat and Li Mu, who were arguably two of the most popular players on the server, each boasted over 300,000 likes and comments per post.
Even “Boxlunch” and “JasmineUndertheMoon,” who similarly also rarely post anything on their profiles, still had around 100,000 interactions.
Among all the top ten ElvKing players, Miss Féng easily had the fewest likes and comments on her profile.
Yet, as the two scrolled down to the comment section of her page, their expressions grew complicated.
The comments there were truly intriguing. Most read along the lines of:
“Who is this?”
“The Number One Druid forever!”
“Absolute all-rounder!”
“Please notice me, Senior!”
“No one’s more mysterious than this player!”
“Thank you for your guidance, oh great one!”
However, among the comments, a few had even more likes than the original owner of the page, and the usernames behind them made Yeye’s jaw tighten.
Li Mu, Little Salty Cat, HootyBird, Demacia, Meng Zhihan, Dōngdōng…
The usernames that left these comments were top players, some of whom were the highest-ranked in the game!
And their messages shared one clear theme:
They all praised Miss Féng’s skill and expressed their gratitude for her insights on advanced skills—particularly among high-ranking mage players.
Anyone even slightly aware of the influence these usernames carried within Elven Kingdom would instantly recognize what this meant.
Yeye’s eyes widened, and he unconsciously swallowed hard.
He knew the person who had saved them was a big shot—but he never expected Miss Féng to be this BIG!
She didn’t even show her username.
How could anyone be so low key?
“So, Senior Wind, what should we do now?”
Yeye typed into the group chat.
“Should we head back or wait for you guys here?”
“Wait? Hurry up and cling to that thigh!”
“Grab that thigh!”
“Coconut, don’t let go of Miss Féng’s thigh!”
“Don’t let go of that thigh!”
The veteran players all typed almost at once.
C-cling to Miss Féng’s thigh?
How were they even supposed to do that?
She had already warned them of danger and told them to leave.
Wouldn’t trying to cozy up now be far too abrupt—and frankly, rude?
Yeye froze, unsure how to respond.
But from the corner of his eye, he noticed Nana beside him, her eyes shining with excitement and her small hands trembling with anticipation. She clearly wanted to get closer to the mysterious, elegant, and powerful big shot.
It was obvious: Nana had already become Miss Féng’s fan.
Yeye: “…”
At that moment, FacetheWind offered an explanation:
“Go for it! Although Miss Féng is known for being a soloist, she’s also quite popular for being kind and generous. I heard she enjoys guiding new players, has a sharp eye for potential, and can often tell at a glance which path is best for your growth!”
“Don’t worry about her warning—it’s fine. Just act brave, say you’re not afraid to die and only want to learn from her. Be eager, stay helpful, and maybe—just maybe, if you’re lucky enough—she’ll give you some pointers or share a few loots during your exploration!”
“And stick close to her! We’re heading there right now! If you can convince Miss Féng to join our party, that’d be even better!”
Yeye: “…”
So that last part was the real goal, wasn’t it, Senior?
It definitely was!
You’re the ones who want to fawn over her, not us!
Yeye complained inwardly—but even so, the older man’s explanation stirred something within him.
Clearly, Miss Féng was indeed a generous player.
That much was obvious from the highly detailed map she had casually given them. It was comprehensive, precise, and far beyond what any ordinary player would share with a bunch of newbies.
Yeye was convinced that the map he now held was probably even better than what Senior Wind and the others had given them earlier.
Moreover, she had taken the initiative to rescue two complete newcomers like them without asking for anything in return.
At that thought, Yeye felt he finally understood why someone like her would choose to conceal her username.
With a presence like hers, if she weren’t discreet, she would likely attract a crowd of “little tails” wherever she went.
His gaze shifted from their party’s chat group as he prepared to signal Nana so the two of them could follow their party leader’s advice and “cling to Miss Féng’s thigh.”
But when he turned toward where his childhood friend had been standing, he realized she was already gone.
Startled, Yeye glanced around again, only to find that Miss Féng had also disappeared.
Where had they gone?
He cast about blankly until his eyes landed on the passage leading deeper into the Titan Mausoleum, and there he finally saw a familiar figure.
Miss Féng was walking slowly and gracefully, as if she were simply taking a stroll, heading farther into the mausoleum’s depths.
Trailing behind her was a small “tail.”
It was Nana.
The girl was speaking with animated curiosity, her expression so bright that it was as though an actual tail were wagging behind her.
Yeye: “…”
Good grief, Miss Zhao, you ran off ahead again!
Weren’t they supposed to be “each other’s little apples”?
His lips twitched. Grabbing the waterskins and flasks that the veterans in their party had dropped, he slung them over his shoulder and hurried after the two.
As he ran, Yeye shouted,
“Senior Féng! Nana! Wait for me!”
༺⟐༻
Miss Féng wasn’t moving quickly, so Yeye soon caught up with them.
Panting, he finally reached the pair—at which point Féng stopped walking and turned to face them.
“You two aren’t going back?”
She sighed softly.
The two newcomers instinctively exchanged glances. Their hearts raced, but just as Senior Wind had coached them, they spoke in unison:
“Yes, Senior Féng! We don’t want to go back!”
“W-We… we’re not afraid of dying! W-We just want to broaden our horizons!”
“Pfft…”
At their words, Féng who’s usually so composed, let out a gentle laugh.
After a pause, she said with a hint of amusement, “And who was it just now whose legs turned to jelly at the sight of a monster?”
“Uh…”
Nana flushed in embarrassment.
Yeye fared slightly better, but his cheeks reddened as well.
It was true, anyway—they had both indeed been frightened.
Well, who could blame them?
Elven Kingdom was just so realistic.
At first, entering the game had simply felt novel, but when faced with a grotesque creature like the Worm King, fear had inevitably crept up on them on its own.
It was like stepping straight out of a horror movie. Watching such films could be scary, but experiencing it in the game firsthand was far more intense.
Of course, the fear was accompanied by a rush of excitement, a strange mix of nervousness and thrill that made the experience unforgettable.
“A-Ahem… Miss Féng, we’re curious about the Titan Mausoleum and want to learn from you! I promise we won’t hold you back. If anything dangerous happens, you don’t have to worry about us—we’re just here to experience it!”
“And if you need anything, we can even scout ahead for you! Isn’t the Titan Ruins supposed to be full of traps? The two of us can help check for them!”
Yeye spoke while glancing at the chat group.
After finishing, he hesitated, then looked at her carefully and asked, “Um… if you don’t mind, c-could you join our party?”
He couldn’t help but blush as he said it.
But his teammates had been urging him, especially their party leader, who had been spamming the chat nonstop.
At his words, Féng turned slightly to glance at him. Her eyes were calm yet seemed to hold a penetrating depth. In that instant, Yeye felt as though she could see straight through him.
“Your teammates put you up to this, didn’t they?” Féng asked with a light laugh.
“U-Uh…”
Yeye felt even more awkward.
Crud.
He had… been seen through.
Then, summoning every ounce of courage he had, he met her gaze head-on. “But we… we really do want to learn. And we want to become players as strong as you!”
When Féng met Yeye’s eyes, bright with anticipation, admiration, and determination, her own flickered with a hint of surprise.
She held his stare for several seconds. Then, just before the young man was about to avert his eyes, Féng gave a slight nod.
“Very well. You two may follow me.”
“Great!”
Yeye let out a cheer of pure delight.
Beside him, Nana gave him an enthusiastic thumbs-up.
“However…”
Just as the two newbies were bursting with excitement, Féng spoke again.
“I won’t be joining your party, nor will I deliberately wait for or protect you. Since you’ve chosen to come along, whatever happens to you two will be your own responsibility.”
Both newcomers froze for a moment, then quickly nodded in unison.
“Understood! Got it!”
After a brief pause, Yeye hesitated before asking, “Um… Miss Féng, would you like us to scout ahead?”
Féng glanced at him again and shook her head.
“No, it’s fine. You’re too weak.”
Yeye froze. That stung more than he expected.
“Besides,” Féng continued evenly, “The traps here can’t harm me.”
Her tone was calm and matter-of-fact, as though she were speaking of something completely trivial.
Yet as Yeye recalled how Senior Wind had described the mausoleum’s traps with such dread and caution, he realized at once that the traps were far from harmless. It was simply that Miss Féng was too powerful to be affected by them.
A true master.
Both novices reached the same conclusion simultaneously, their admiration for her strength growing with each passing second.
༺⟐༻
Having earned the right to accompany her, the two newcomers followed behind Féng, thoroughly satisfied.
They soon noticed that, although the older woman had said she wouldn’t slow down or protect them, she still maintained a pace that allowed them to keep up with ease.
Not only that, but as they progressed through the exploration, Miss Féng would also occasionally remind them to watch their footing for hidden traps, an indirect form of protection that did not go unnoticed by the two.
As such, their admiration for her soared even higher.
The two had played many online games before, but never had they met a high-level veteran player who was so approachable and considerate toward beginners.
Still, it was odd that they hadn’t encountered a single monster despite venturing deeper and deeper into the mausoleum.
“It’s a unique ability of an Archdruid! She must have repelled all nearby creatures,” FacetheWind explained through the chat group after Yeye voiced his confusion.
So Miss Féng repelled them?
The two novices blinked in surprise.
Then they remembered the buff she had cast on them earlier.
“What a convenient skill… this must be a godsend for exploring uncharted maps,” Yeye couldn’t help but remark.
And so, the two “tails” trailed behind the “big thigh,” as the three ventured deeper into the Titan Mausoleum.
As they walked leisurely, both observed their surroundings with growing curiosity, mapping the terrain as their other veteran teammates had requested.
The Titan Mausoleum was vast and intricate, like a labyrinth.
The dark yellow walls, weathered by ages of silence, bore an ancient, desolate aura. Illuminated faintly by the glow of embedded lumistones, the place seemed both mysterious and sacred.
Their footsteps echoed softly through the halls.
Yeye thought that if it were only him and Nana in this situation, they would probably have been terrified to death already by now.
But now, walking behind Miss Féng, they felt oddly at ease, almost smugly confident, like foxes strutting under a tiger’s shadow.
Even Senior Wind, upon hearing their shared updates in the chat group, couldn’t resist commenting:
“Damn, the rest of us are here creeping through these ruins scared half to death, praying we don’t die the next second and you two are out there on a sightseeing trip.”
“Ahh dammit, I’m so jealous! You actually latched onto Miss Féng’s thigh!”
The entire chat was filled with the sour scent of envy.
However, their brief moment of leisure didn’t last long.
After walking a bit farther, Féng suddenly stopped.
Looking ahead, the two realized they had arrived at a grand hall.
Yeye returned his gaze and noticed Miss Féng surveying the room. He followed her gaze, which was resting on several massive, weathered statues of Titans.
Then, a faint smile curved her lips.
“Tell me,” she said, turning to the two novices,
“Would you two like to test your skills?”
TL/N: Been binge reading the novel ‘Gospel of Blood‘, that’s why my uploads pretty inconsistent these past weeks. Thankfully, I’ve finished it now, yay. For those who’s looking for a novel similar to GOTWT (Transmigration/Female Lead/No Romance/Force Building/God Ascension) I highly recommend it. (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و
