"A bloodbath, that's what happened at the Two Hundred and Fifty-Fourth Session of the Imperial Senate." Thoughts of the First Imperial Counselor, Duke Tyrion of House Lannister.

-------------

Ruby Palace, Seat of the Imperial Senate.

A court-like environment could be seen decorated in red and gold. However, it was the four thrones that rose above all others that drew attention. All red as if made of blood, elegant, yet majestic to symbolize the power of Targaryen royalty.

At that moment, all fifteen hundred senators were present at this session of the imperial senate. Which was not a surprise, given that at the beginning of every year, senators gathered to demonstrate the Imperium's economic growth and to fight for power.

Among these fifteen hundred, four in particular were seated side by side. These were the senators:

Cassian Thalor, a 32-year-old young man, blond, with refined features, wearing blue tunics with star symbols. Septimius Varro, an obese, jovial man, with gold rings on all fingers and exotic perfumes. Aemilia Corvus, a 40-year-old woman, tall, with piercing eyes and black hair always tied back. Valerius Draconis, a middle-aged man, severe face, gray hair combed back.

The only thing they had in common, besides their own faction, was that they were all leaders of the resistance also known as The True Humans. The organization was about seven hundred years old, created by the ancient remnants of the Faith of the Seven.

Of course, after seven hundred years, even the most ironclad ideas were slowly corrupted by the power of time. The same happened with the True Humans, who formerly worshipped the Faith of the Seven, but slowly forgot their own traditions and faith, becoming a political organization hidden in the bowels of the Imperium of Humanity.

Cassian, Septimius, Aemilia, and Valerius had been in power for about two hundred years and were as strong as ever. They orchestrated rebellions on colonized planets and then profited from the planet's reconstruction.

By doing this over two hundred years, The True Humans became truly wealthy within the Imperium.

Of course, they were still heretics waiting for the right moment to deliver the final blow to the Imperium, rebuilding the old order. They hated the God Emperor of Humanity for being a tyrant and power-hungry.

However, at that moment, everyone was discussing the improvement of the Imperium, as they knew more than anyone that the Imperium at that moment was a huge monster capable of reducing entire civilizations, much less them, a mere terrorist organization.

So, even being influential, arrogant, and full of greed, they never did anything in the internal area of the Imperium, only in the colonies and on the edge of the Imperium, known as the Infinite Worlds of the Rim.

However, at that moment, as the four were talking in low voices with others who participated in Queen Daenerys's faction, the herald began to announce loudly.

"Queen Daenerys I Targaryen, Rider of Balerion, Mother of Time, Lady of Humanity, and Queen of the Golden Throne."

"Queen Rhaenys II Targaryen, Rider of Moonfyre, Queen of Steel, Lady of Humanity, and Queen of the Silver Throne."

"Queen Visenya II Targaryen, Rider of Syrax, Queen of Space, Lady of Humanity, and Queen of the Amethyst Throne."

All the senators were surprised to see the three queens sit on their thrones, accompanied by a group of women from the Cult of the God Emperor.

Then, hearing the herald's next words, everyone's eyes widened, and they hastily stood up.

"The God Emperor of Humanity, Rider of Caraxes, Father of All Humanity, Guardian of Knowledge, Beacon of Humanity, Lord of the Ruby Throne, Monarch of Time and Space, Slayer of Gods." A poor herald spoke a long series of titles with a fervent and fanatical expression.

A huge figure walked slowly to the Blood Throne in the Senate and sat down with a view of the entire Imperial Senate. He looked at everyone and smiled with a calm and profound gaze. He was wearing imposing black armor, a blood-red cloak draped over his shoulders. His crown, as well as the crowns of Daenerys, Rhaenys, and Visenya, shone with enormous rubies.

"My Emperor!"

"My Emperor!"

"My Emperor!"

Aenar raised his hand, and silence prevailed in the environment; no one dared to speak or even breathe slightly louder. Everyone's eyes were focused on the four main figures sitting on the four Blood Thrones. This was a very rare imperial senate session; the last time the Three Queens and the Emperor were together in a senate session was eight hundred years ago.

Which showed that this imperial senate session would be anything but simple. Everyone stood erect thinking about it. Some thought it was about the new war against the Tyranids, or a large-scale war with the Orks, others even thought humanity was starting a war against the Aeldari.

"Thank you for serving the Imperium with your minds and souls; humanity has never been stronger in its history. Everyone here is a hero and martyr of humanity, pillars that sustain this beautiful society." Aenar's voice reverberated throughout the Imperial Senate, making old or young senators show expressions of joy and pride.

How many could be praised by the God Emperor of Humanity, a true god in flesh and blood?

"First Imperial Counselor, Tyrion of House Lannister, begin the imperial senate session." Looking at Tyrion sitting in a special seat with two others beside him, Aenar said in a calm tone.

"Today, on March 4, 1461 of the Imperial Year." Tyrion stood up and spoke loudly. "The Two Hundred and Fifty-Fourth Session of the Imperial Senate begins; all doors must be closed until the session ends!"

"We shall begin." Aenar, Daenerys, Rhaenys, and Visenya spoke at the same time; the doors were closed, and the environment became particularly silent.

The Imperial Senate Session began normally, with the Senators presenting reports on the Imperium, everything about birth rates, childhood mortality, homicides, health, education, and military spending. Everything proceeded in an orderly and bureaucratic manner.

However, the more they spoke, some more experienced senators already noticed that something was wrong, especially with the Sardaukar standing like statues near the walls of the Imperial Senate.

Looking at the four figures who were like gods, these senators already knew that something was about to happen, and remembering the last time the royal family attended the imperial senate was to clean out a group of corrupt individuals, these senators looked at their companions with a watchful eye. No one would know if one of their colleagues would forge evidence or even incriminate them.

Don't think that because everything was orderly and efficient there were no factional fights; there were many. Murders were common, lies were normal, and poison was just a tool to warn competitors and enemies.

In a population of trillions of humans, fifteen hundred senators were the elite of the elite; no one was stupid. Stupid people couldn't even enter the Imperial Senate and had long been dead.

If you weren't a proper gear, they'd replace you with another; that's how the Imperium works. No one is irreplaceable; everyone could be removed from their positions and killed to serve as an example.

So these old senators were extremely cautious with everyone around, even the best friends looked at each other with suspicion.

"You didn't do anything stupid, did you?" A senator asked his friend suspiciously. The other senator rolled his eyes and replied in a sharp tone. "If I were that stupid, I would have died a hundred years ago when I ran for my seat in the imperial senate."

As the senate session drew to a close, the atmosphere grew tenser and colder; even the most foolish of senators already knew that something very serious was happening and couldn't help but shiver.

Some even knew they had accepted bribes from some spatial guilds to facilitate entry into other parts of the Imperium; these senators were terrified, as they knew they could die at any moment.

How could they remain calm in the face of death? They were practically immortal because of the Elixir of Life and were the most powerful human beings in the Imperium; no one wanted to die and lose all that tempting power.

These senators who accepted bribes simply stood up and knelt before the thrones of Aenar, Daenerys, Visenya, and Rhaenys.

Aenar looked at the dozen senators and remained indifferent. Although accepting bribes was a serious crime, it was definitely not as serious as exterminating the heretics hidden in the bowels of the Imperium. These people were just an appetizer before the main course.

All the senators present watched with shock, amusement, and sarcasm as dozens of senators knelt on the floor.
