"Although the feeling of envy was bad, it was what drove most people to reach new heights. Without envy, there was no ambition to become a better version of oneself." Thoughts of Aenar I Targaryen, the God-Emperor of Mankind.

---------

Planetos, Mother Planet of Humanity.

Aenar, who had just returned, saw his daughter and Leda waiting for him patiently. Both women had different heights but were equally loyal to the extreme. Even among fanatics, Leda and Naerys were a rare example.

Stroking Naerys's hair, Aenar looked at Leda with an apology. "I was delayed by a small insect."

He had spent five years tracking the Hive Mind before finally finding it and making the insect planet actually start moving towards the Eye of Terror. The conspiracy was clear, but the enemy still agreed to go to the enemy's battlefield.

"Imperial Father seems happy," Naerys said with an adorable smile, feeling the huge hand on her head. She liked her father's touch; it was something her brothers and sisters would never have because they rarely saw their father, and even if they had the chance, they would refuse for being too old for it.

"That's correct, my lovely daughter," Aenar replied with a smile. Of course, he was happy; he had managed to make the Tyranids meet the forces of Chaos in the Eye of Terror, and both races would be battling for a long time. How could he not be happy to gain such a good and free helper?

"Naerys, ask Alysanne to meet me in my office," Aenar said. He walked to the core of the imperial palace, leaving Naerys behind while Leda loyally followed the Emperor.

Naerys bowed to her father and turned around, heading towards the Princess Regent's personal office.

-

As Aenar was relaxing after five years of searching for the Hive Mind, he heard the door open and an extremely tall young woman wearing tight white pants and a red military suit entered the office.

Eating a grape, Aenar asked in a calm tone, "Is our Death Star being built on schedule?"

The Death Star was naturally a project he had personally designed; it was the pinnacle of human technology. A mechanical planet capable of destroying entire planets simultaneously. The core that powered the Death Star was naturally the infinite energy source of the universe.

The Warp.

With Uru, there was no way for space to be distorted to the point that demons could enter the material world, so the risk of creating a demonic invasion almost ceased to exist. Naturally, Aenar used the infinite energy of the Warp to power the greatest war machine of the Imperium of Man.

"Father, do you know how many imperial credits have been used on this damned Death Star?" Alysanne couldn't help but complain loudly. She only found out about the Death Star's existence when it was already fifty percent complete, and just fifty percent was already a completely astronomical number; even a ducal house wouldn't have that much money if they pawned all the planets in their fief.

"I don't know, I don't care about money," Aenar said in a lazy tone. He never cared about money; he was a true spendthrift, although the money he spent was never directed at himself, only for the Imperium and nothing more.

Alysanne rolled her eyes and didn't answer. She sat next to her father and spoke in a tired tone. "According to the Biomechanics' estimates, the Death Star will be finished in fifteen years."

"Well, that's not long. I'll finally have my Death Star. When it's ready, I want to see the expressions on those two arrogant Orks' faces when they see my Death Star," Aenar muttered with a bright look. He had long wanted to smash the arrogant faces of Gork and Mork.

As they say, men like to bet to see who is bigger, and Aenar was proud to say he had the biggest!

Seeing her father laughing strangely, Alysanne was speechless. To all of humanity, Aenar was the supreme, sacred, and inviolable being, but to her and the entire House Targaryen, he was the most human husband and father possible.

"How were the backs on Talasa and Isstvan V?" Alysanne asked in a seemingly casual tone, her eyes staring at Aenar with a calm look.

Aenar raised an eyebrow and replied lazily. "Aegon has some talent. The stabilizing liquid he created is quite interesting, although the chimeras he created are weak and without consciousness, like animals. Whoever gave him the inheritance for blood magic, which Aegon received, didn't want him to get out of control and gave him some fragmented inheritance."

Alysanne's face turned cold hearing her father's words. She clenched her fists, not because of Aenar, but because of Aegon. Even a fool could see that there was something wrong with his blood magic inheritance, but Aegon didn't care and continued to experiment even knowing something was wrong.

"He knows something is wrong, but he doesn't care. As long as he creates his traitor legions, he might even sell his own soul," Aenar said in a still lazy tone; he knew his son very well.

"Is being the heir so important? You are immortal, father. I will never stop being the heir to the throne for my entire life," Alysanne asked in a tired and helpless tone. Even after a thousand years, she still couldn't believe that Aegon would actually rebel for a mere title of heir.

"It's in his male nature and ambition to aim for the throne." Unlike Alysanne, Aenar knew human nature better than anyone. There was no reason for greed other than envy; when they saw another person's better life, they felt envy and wanted to have the same.

But that wasn't a bad thing; if you envy the things your neighbor possesses, you will strive to get the same things. So, it can be said that envy has driven many people in life to become what they are today.

"Can you say with one hundred percent certainty that none of my sons and daughters never aim for the throne? If a soldier doesn't aim to be a general, he is not a soldier. The same can be said of a prince. If a prince doesn't aim for the throne, he is not a prince," Aenar commented with a smile.

Alysanne was speechless but did not refute her father. She estimated that even Naerys had dreamed of being Empress. It was impossible to say that none of the princes and princesses did not aim for the throne. If they had the chance, they would be the same as Aegon; Aegon himself was just the most ambitious and was ready to sacrifice everything for it.

Stroking her forehead, Alysanne let out a long, tired sigh. "Sometimes I wonder if this would happen if we were sheep breeders like our ancestors," she said with a calm look on her face.

"The Valyrians before the dragons were the most sought-after slaves in the world because of their supernatural beauty. Without power, you would be a slave, just like most Valyrians of that time," Aenar said in an equally calm tone. The enslaved became those who enslaved others.

The dream of the victims was to become the oppressor; this was an eternal truth in the human race. Nepotism was only bad when you didn't participate in it.

Alysanne nodded her head; she also knew that if they were sheep breeders, they would be victims of other people. In the end, only power was the true dialogue in the world or even in the universe.

"I'm glad you understand that. We will always be the oppressors, never again the victims," Aenar said in a calm, even cold tone. Faced with the safety of his own family, he could enslave all the races in the universe without a second thought. Because he knew better than anyone that if the other races were in the place of the human race, they would do the same thing or even worse.

At least the races enslaved by the human race had a certain dignity in preserving their culture, language, and religion. Other races did not have such benevolence, as they stripped the race of everything, even their racial identity.

Naerys returned at that moment, bringing a tray containing wine and snacks to eat. "Imperial Father, Imperial Sister, I brought food." The sweet sound of Naerys's voice had a touch of kindness, making Aenar and Alysanne smile.

"Thank you, little sister," Alysanne said, eating a snack and pouring a glass of wine for herself. The same could be said of Aenar, who ate with a satisfied expression.

"I have to go. I've been away from your mothers for five years; they will probably devour me in bed." Finishing his food, Aenar stood up and said with an amused tone, making Alysanne show an expression of disgust.

"Don't talk about sleeping with my mother," Alysanne said with a tone full of repulsion. Just imagining the scene made her stomach turn. Since she was born with Visenya's memories, she had seen things that no son or daughter should ever see in their life.

Aenar just shrugged and left the office accompanied by Leda and Naerys. As for Naerys herself, she was already used to such things and indifferent to the intimacy between her father and her three mothers.

I'm definitely not against it.
