Chapter 125: Training resistance... is hard
CHAPTER 125: TRAINING RESISTANCE... IS HARD
His body writhing on the ground and his screams of pain were not enough to stop Anna, who widened herself over him as if she had some kind of hatred for him.
She first made him suffer with whips that tore his skin terribly, using a terrifying outside that could break his bones.
Later, she used wood to beat him with countless blows throughout the night, putting him through terrifying torture that made him tremble.
But naturally, his stats also increased because of it.
At dawn, she finally stopped completely and put away the things she was torturing him with, and stood beside him.
"Get dressed nicely. Your training will begin. Don’t complain so much, the first four days are hardly known as Opening Days. They are the easiest."
Elliot felt his body tremble. ’Opening Days?" he thought. Even his mind trembled with fear at the thought of what would come in the next moment...
Could he stand it?
-
After traveling to an area near the city where a rushing river flowed into the sea, Elliot was taken under the waterfall to endure the water falling down this rushing river.
He was to endure a long time under the water, as the water pounded his back and tried to push him down.
He thought this would be much easier.
He did not know how wrong he was.
The amount of liters of water per second that fell on him was terrible, to the point that, even though his resistance was high, he fell several times and had to return to his position, until he got a correct spot and resisted as long as he could.
But it was painful.
It was feeling like torture, second by second, of a lot of liters of water falling on top of you. Plus, the thunderous sound felt like the world was falling over him.
A more frightening thing was that incredibly heavy fish would occasionally fall on top of him. They knocked him down the first few times, but he began to resist.
During that time, he had to keep his head pointed diagonally to the ground most of the time, as he could only take so much of that watery force on his head.
So, the day passed...
A whole day resisting it had burned his skin terribly, but at least the pain of the first night had passed.
The second day, he was returned to the City, to one of the guild gyms. There, he had to train in an inhumane routine given by Anna.
Still, it was very simple for him.
So he was once again taken to the waterfall. This time with an additional danger: occasionally, Anna was going to hit him. She would not tell him when, for the idea was that he would maintain that power of stability throughout.
That day... again it was a different kind of torture, but somehow it seemed to be getting stronger, as it wasn’t as painful as that night.
But there, he realized why training resistance was so terrifying.
Even though that was his second-highest stat, he felt that every passing minute was torture.
It was slowly destroying his body, but his body was also recovering, very slowly.
-
Soon, the 4 Opening Days passed.
Anna took him to one of the city’s dungeons belonging to the Guild.
"The final three days will be painful." She said suddenly, as if the first few days hadn’t been.
That’s why Elliot rolled his eyes at her.
However, that thing she said could mean something scarier than his mind could think.
She soon revealed the tests for the next few days.
"Now will come the Trials of Fire, Wind, and Water. They will be three different dungeons. The Fire Golem Dungeon, where we are. Then the Dungeon of the Lord of the Wind (Hawks) and the Dungeon of the Horrid Siren."
"For now, focus on the Fire Golems one. You only have to do one thing: kill them all. But, with two limitation." Anna pulled out a strange item and put it on.
Immediately, Elliot felt his strength remarkably restrained, which caused a strange weakness in his body.
"What is it?" he asked.
"It is to seal your strength. You will only be able to use 25 strength points during this competition. You will not be able to use weapons; you will only fight with your hands and feet. Go, I wish you luck." After that, she pushed him into the portal.
Elliot soon found himself on the other side of a hot portal, where the heat of the fire hit him as soon as he entered, with his strength sealed and having to kill some strange, rather large beasts, which seemed to have been made of some extremely hard ore or just strengthened concrete.
Fire was coming off them, and as they walked, strange bursts of fire were coming out two meters away.
The magic they were employing was nothing serious on its own, but more than 20 of them were in the first group, making it very powerful.
Also, the outline of the dungeon...
’Is this inside a volcano?’ He thought as he felt his skin being slowly burned.
It was a dangerous dungeon.
He pulled a few bandages from his inventory and strapped them on his hands, then looked ahead, where incredibly heavy golems were heading his way.
"I know this will be difficult, but I have no choice."
And when he has no choice, he can only follow what he must.
If there is no plan, then he will be the plan.
Though his strength was limited, he leapt toward where the first golem was coming from.
His fist drove firmly into the chest of a golem over 2 meters and 50 centimeters and pushed it back, creating a strange opening in its chest.
But as he did so, he felt the heat transmitted from his fist to his entire body.
’They’re really hot.’ He looked down at his hand.
Smoke was coming out of it.
’Over 200 degrees... maybe over 500.’ The pain he received as soon as he touched it was terrifying; he felt it even in his blood and bones.
Because of that, he had been careless, which earned him a blow from two golems. The impact sent him flying and slamming into one of the nearby walls.
It wasn’t painful on impact, but...
As he touched these walls with his back, he immediately wanted to scream, as he felt as if his back was on fire.
He jumped as soon as he could to escape the walls, and when he looked back, part of his sturdy shirt was torn, strangely burned.
His back was completely red, as if he had been cooked instantly.
’...Now I understand why she said this would be very difficult.’ He looked all around and considered it something of the highest danger.
The golems didn’t hit hard; he almost didn’t feel the power of the blow. The problem was that it burned.
Every rose or every touch between them burned as if he were touching a furnace heated to a thousand degrees.
Despite the pain, he took a deep breath, resisted it, and looked straight ahead again.
Then his body shot out against the golems in front of him. The force of his blow was not as powerful as it should be, but he was hitting the right place at the right time.
As a result, the golems were quickly repelled, although some of them managed to hit him, which transmitted much more heat than usual.
Still, he mentally strengthened himself and began to hit one of them. They had no fixed core; if you smashed their head or chest, they would stop working.
Therefore, his blows were focused on that area, and soon, one of them was smashed on the ground.
He immediately jumped towards another one and continued with the same process, but his bandages were not enough to dull all the damage he was taking. To say that these golems were hot was an understatement.
After killing five of them, he groaned.
"Shit. Being made of the same material as the walls, they can contain heat ridiculously well. Although what little fire magic they employ is useless against me, how hot they are is the problem."
Naturally, this heat was coming from the dungeon’s core. It was a volcano-like dungeon, and possibly, its core was a terrifying place of lava.
He grabbed other bandages and put them on over the ones he already had to reinforce them, but even putting them on, they damaged his hands.
’They’re completely burned and I’m barely 5...’
What he didn’t know was that this was just one small sample of what this dungeon had to offer.
He took the opportunity to put bandages all over his body and then put on a change of clothes upstairs. By this time, the golems were attacking him again, and he was back into a terrible battle of heat and burning pain.
He had never experienced a battle like this, but his mind did not waver despite the pain he felt.
A good while later, he finished with the first batch of golems.
He took a few potions and then went back inside.
