CHAPTER 163: A DATE (2)

As they left, Sir Ruined and Ruin stared at them, but did not act.

"He’s strong." Sir Ruined said suddenly, as he saw them disappear.

"Stronger than me?" Ruin asked, causing Sir Ruined to look at him.

"Not that you’re very strong, so it’s hard to answer that question without taking offense." He replied with a sarcastic tone.

Ruin shrugged his shoulders. "Then I’ll change the question, can he beat you?"

The corner of Sir Ruined’s lips twitched.

"Do you think anyone can beat me, Ruin? He is strong. Physically, perhaps he is on your level. But his skill is summoning. It’s no good against me."

Ruin looked at him and shrugged. "Tsk. Relying too much on your ability is what makes you unworthy to say who is stronger between me and him."

He knew Sir Ruin was telling some truth, though.

"Still, it’s stronger than we had been told." He spoke.

Sir Ruined nodded; he was in complete agreement with that.

"Besides, he’s a bit different in how he fights."

"I noticed that too." Ruin frowned. "I even think he could beat you."

Sir Ruin shrugged. "Well, if he beat me, there’s still Dark Mantle around to fix the broken dishes. In the end, we just have to kill him, and the partner they gave me has a screw loose. Sigh." Sir Ruined complained, making Ruin angry.

"You bastard, you think I can’t beat you right here!? Fuck Dark Mantle, that bastard Elliot I’ll kill him myself!" He roared.

"Hahaha. If you lose your temper that easily, even if you can beat him, you won’t. Didn’t you see him? He can control himself even when his two direct rivals to win the title provoke him. Tsk, I’m afraid he’ll beat you because you’ll act on impulse."

"Shut up, you bastard." Ruin turned around, sulking, and looked at the bastards who were following him. "What about you guys, I’m going to beat you if you don’t move fast!"

The three who seemed more invisible than the wind suddenly flinched and quickly started walking again, moving their legs swiftly.

Behind was Ruin, angrily, while Sir Ruined was the last to start moving.

’He saw our suits earlier and mentioned something about us. Could it be that he recognizes who we are?’ He frowned.

That would be problematic...

’We can’t let him run away just because he knows of our presence here.’ He thought.

’Looks like I was supposed to report this to the leaders.’

--

After leaving there, Elliot took Jenna to the outskirts of the city, specifically to a mountain near the city, where they had already prepared some things for her, such as tables, a place to barbecue, and other things to cook.

"And this?" Jenna asked, surprised at the arrival.

"I’m going to cook for you." He said suddenly.

"Really?" She turned to look at him. "Meat, like the time we were in the Forest?" She quickly asked, remembering their time together in that place.

It was the second or third night they were staying in that place, and he made a rather peculiar meal, but it turned out delicious.

Although in the middle of the meal they were interrupted by a beast attack, she was still able to enjoy a few bites before all was lost.

If she could now taste something so delicious again, she would undoubtedly love it.

He smiled at her.

"Of course. But it will be more delicious today. Just wait and see."

Elliot pulled out several knives and a rather large piece of red meat. On the table, he began to make small cuts that went all the way through the meat. After doing that procedure on the whole piece of meat, he began to season it.

In the thin cuts, he added some special types of seasonings that disintegrated with heat, others with water, and finally, he cooked all that part with thread.

He did that on both sides of the meat. Afterwards, he covered it with aluminum foil and left it on the table for some time to pass and the seasoning to take on its flavor.

He moved quickly and pulled out some more stuff to make a salad and sautéed rice with classic dressings. He also made some classic sauces and then fired up the classic rotisserie.

He wasn’t going to make any other kind of meat than what he had already prepared, so he immediately pulled the meat out, removed the threads that were cooking it, and began to roast it over the spit.

Off to the side, Jenna watched him intently with a smile.

"I never thought my boyfriend would be a great cook." She said suddenly, staring at him.

She had wanted to help him; she could cook and did it very well, too, but seeing him so focused on his world made her want to keep watching him.

He was too charming.

He smiled.

"I liked watching my mom cook when I was little, and then I had to learn how to do it the hard way."

"No alternative?"

"Yes. Right now, I consider it a good hobby, so it’s okay, right? I can relax by cooking new things."

"Hehe, I guess so." She leaned back a little on the table to look at him. "I can relax watching you make things, too. You’re so lovely."

He turned to look at her and moved a little closer to her to give her a kiss, of which she wanted more, but he did not indulge her.

"Be patient. It will be ready soon." As he said this, the smell of the condiments began to spread as one.

That filled the mountain with an exquisite aroma.

The smell made their mouths water and made Jenna’s stomach growl with interest.

She hadn’t eaten in a good while, and they had moved around a lot while at the amusement park, so now she was hungry.

"Hahaha, I’ll hurry things up." Elliot said as he listened to her belly and focused on cooking.

She waited patiently for him.

Some untold time later, Elliot finally removed the meat from the rotisserie and placed it in a rather large wooden container. Although the piece of meat was huge, the container was even bigger. It looked like a large table, so it fit without any problems.

He served the salad, sautéed rice with dressings, and grabbed the classic sauces he had prepared.

They both then sat down in a spot he had already set up, outdoors, on the ground as if they were camping.

"I don’t know the name of the dish, but my mom used to make it a lot. Try it." He grabbed a piece of meat and shoved it into Jenna’s mouth.

She couldn’t hold back and took a quick bite, craving that taste once again.

The meat had just the right touch, and that flavor she remembered suddenly overcame itself. An even more delicious piece of meat that retained the essence of what she had tasted that time went down her throat.

The softness as she bit into it and how it went down seemed to relax her, even though it was a little warm. The taste was so delicious that she wanted to take one more bite.

And she didn’t hold back.

They both soon began to eat quickly—the meat alone, with the sauces, and also with the salad. At one point, they left the sauces aside because they felt they dulled the flavor of the meat a bit, and started to enjoy the meat and the salad with the rice.

Everything was perfect, with just the right touches.

A good while later, they both finished eating and smiled broadly. Especially Jenna.

"That was really good." She spoke. "You’re a great cook, Elliot." She praised him.

"Hahaha, just things I’ve learned along the way." He replied and looked at her. "Were you satisfied?"

"Yes, yes." She nodded quickly. "I’d like to eat that meat every day. It’s amazing!"

"Well, every chance I get, I’ll make you more than." He smiled at her and stroked her hair.

They relaxed together and looked up at the sky after chatting and joking about a few things.

Elliot’s mind was filled with thoughts about what happened a while ago with that pair of strangers.

’That Ruin guy isn’t that powerful, but he should be over 70 stat points in strength. But that other guy...’ He remembered Sir Ruined, the one who got in the way to stop them.

’He’s dangerous. He must have some kind of very potent and unique power.’ He thought.

When it hit him at that moment, his energy became chaotic. Although his strength overcame his opponent’s defenses, indicating that he was not too strong in his Resistance stat, it still affected him.

He didn’t fully understand the sensation, as he hadn’t felt it before.

But it was dangerous.

’Looks like I’ll have to be careful.’ He sighed and decided to stop thinking about it. That night, he enjoyed the scenery with Jenna, and then they drove back to town in the early morning.
