Chapter 173: Angelic Wave vs. House of Fire
CHAPTER 173: ANGELIC WAVE VS. HOUSE OF FIRE
Elliot.
Being so resistant to fire, how would he be affected by an ability like this? For him, at that moment, it was child’s play.
At that moment, he began to see the hidden fruits of that hellish training that Miss Anna had put him through.
And they were playing an important role in his battles, not only in that dungeon where he got the basilisk but also against other players.
Elliot stepped firmly behind the Resistance Mage and drew two swords, one in each hand, crossed in front of his chest.
CLANK*
The sound of a spear and a sword colliding with both weapons echoed. Neither of them could attack the summoning or Andrew or Jenna behind him.
Even though there were two of them with Master Rank power, Elliot didn’t move an inch backward. He had completely neutralized that force.
Then, one of his swords disappeared from his hand, and he attacked the front after breaking free from the force pushing him backward. His attack grazed the entire spear and struck the spearman in the chest, pushing him backward with terrifying force.
At that moment, Elliot withdrew all his summons toward him and quickly summoned them again, but this time in a different position. Right behind the spearman and in a straight line against the archer.
Because of this, the rival tank was unable to hit its opponent. He was left out in the open in front of two monsters, Andrew and Jenna, who looked at him with a desire to tear him apart.
At the same time, the two Thoran Twins ran past on either side. They, too, had not been affected by the opponent’s fire. They were truly powerful.
Their footsteps made no sound, but their speed allowed them to cross the arena in seconds.
During that time, the Archer had fired three more arrows, one magical and two physical. This time, there was no mage to stop his attacks, so they sought their way against Elliot, one of the Thoran Twins, and the rat that appeared in front of him.
The first arrow to strike was the one that killed the rat. A single arrow was enough to send it back to Elliot.
Subsequently, the Thoran twin who was attacked had to defend himself with his sword, which was left shaking from the force of the impact.
’He’s powerful,’ he realized. Possibly the strongest of the group.
And after firing his arrows, the Archer quickly began to run across the sand, managing to gain distance, aided by a huge sword of fire created by the wizard.
Meanwhile, Elliot split the arrow in half in an intense fight with the swordsman and the spearman.
The fight was uneven, with him slightly outmatched by both of them, but his strength and vitality allowed him to keep up the battle, giving Jenna and Andrew time to finish their fight.
On the other side, his rat had been killed, and between the archer and the mage, they had also killed the orc warrior he had summoned, leaving only the tank to withstand the attacks as the Thoran Twins approached.
This had also increased his overall power, allowing him to withstand the two’s onslaught and attack them back.
Now, he was fighting without summoning because he was waiting for an opportunity.
With his face fixed on them, he suddenly saw the opportunity—a gap in the defense, and a very serious one.
"Attack!" he suddenly shouted, summoning his berserker from above. The berserker fell with his sword, striking firmly at the spearman’s shoulder, the more severely wounded of the two from the attacks he had received.
He hadn’t expected it, and the berserker had activated his class as soon as he returned. He was in a frenzy of madness, so he attacked with all his strength.
It wasn’t too powerful. It wasn’t too serious for him, but it opened his charge and defense.
And Elliot took advantage of that.
With great speed, his right hand attacked with a thrust toward the spearman’s shoulder. His blow was accurate, too powerful. The spearman ended up with his shoulder dislocated and a sword that pierced and struck his bones.
He was pushed back, but he tried to resist. He put all his strength into his feet and stuck firmly to the ground, immediately moving his spear forward, but it was too late.
Suddenly, a powerful kick struck him in the face. His body flew backward, completely dizzy, and soon hit the walls outside the combat arena.
His blood and mouth were bleeding.
Elliot didn’t have time to enjoy his small victory; he quickly brought his sword forward to defend himself from an attack by the swordsman, who had killed his berserker in seconds.
A fireball fell on his back while he was still in the air, heating and pushing him down.
Indirectly, this helped him, but he glanced sideways at the mage. How had he had time to attack him? Hadn’t the Thoran Twins managed to grab him?
As he looked... he smiled.
One of the twins smiled coldly across the battlefield and jumped on him. "Diverting your attention in a fight against us? That’s suicide!" he roared.
His sword moved immediately, cutting through the magic he was creating. It was so powerful that it managed to cut through the magic with relative ease, and then the sword struck firmly at his opponent’s hands, arms, and chest vertically.
A stream of blood emerged from that large wound, but he didn’t even have time to scream before he received the same attack, but horizontally, creating a strange cross on his body, which sent him flying dozens of meters until he hit the walls of the combat arena.
Right next to him was the archer. He launched his attack at point-blank range.
It was impossible to miss.
Or so he thought.
He forgot that he was fighting the most famous Sword Twins on the Coast.
The other twin cut the arrow in half after it was released and lunged at the archer. He received seven effective blows to the body, which knocked him down immediately.
He didn’t fly through the air; he simply fell to the ground, unconscious.
While they were doing that...
The battle on the other side of the combat had ended.
The tank and the swordsman were on top of each other, unconscious under the feet of Elliot, Jenna, and Andrew.
At that moment, the counter above them stopped.
[3 minutes 23 seconds.]
That number began to flash continuously, indicating the end of the match and declaring Angelic Wave the winner.
The fanatical Angelic Wave bettors were so excited that the arena shook with their shouts of joy and roars of jubilation.
However, one side was in deadly silence.
One side lost, the other won—nothing to say.
Although the lancer could have fought longer, he did not get up. It would have been foolish to try.
They hadn’t even made them sweat.
Three minutes!
What humiliation.
He even lowered his head so as not to see what they had just suffered and consoled himself: ’At least it wasn’t 31 seconds,’ he thought.
With victory in their hands, they once again became the team that finished their fights the fastest that day.
As they left the arena, Steward congratulated them.
"It seems I worried for nothing. You’re still as incredible as yesterday, even against a team of only Masters like them."
"But it’s still no reason to celebrate," he added. "Tomorrow we have to go to Xhortz. Or rather, in the early hours of the morning. We have our match against Personifications tomorrow. It’s the first time we’ll be playing away from home, so I think it will be difficult."
"That’s why you’re not allowed to go out today. Let’s go back, review our strategies, and then just rest. Let’s find inner peace to avoid getting nervous during combat and nothing else."
"Very well, Mr. Steward," replied Elliot, then Andrew, Jenna, and everyone else, including Chris and Rich.
They all returned to the guild headquarters and began reviewing strategies.
First, they looked at how that peculiar guild played.
As they had said before, all of its members have the ability to create a copy of themselves.
How do they manage to have all their members have the same type of magic?
It’s because Personifications doesn’t recruit players from outside. The entire guild is a large, centralized family that has inherited a type of magic from ancient times: the Personified Clone.
This type of magic is peculiar; its function is to create an identical clone with the same strength, but it does not really grant a specific fighting style.
In other words, you are not born a swordsman, mage, or anything like that. You become one.
These types of clans are the ones that tend to understand magic best, because they have dedicated their entire existence to understanding it and pursuing that path.
They are the only ones who, without being magicians, can use magic.
And it applies to everything.
They are not swordsmen, but they can use swords and fight with them. Although they will not be as powerful as a real swordsman, they will at least have two bodies to fight with.
