Having understood Zhou Zhi’s situation, Luo Fei called Yang Su to report the situation and also informed him about the idea of bringing Zhou Zhi to the police station for questioning.
Yang Su agreed in principle, but suggested that Luo Fei should consult Zhao Donglai about taking Zhou Zhi to the police station, since Zhao Donglai is the captain of the criminal investigation team, and his consent is necessary.
Luo Fei immediately found Zhao Donglai, who trusted Luo Fei and encouraged him to investigate boldly.
At four o’clock in the afternoon, Luo Fei, Wang Lei, and Xia Zheng drove to Hengda Garden.
According to the information, Zhou Zhi lives in building 5, apartment 525, of this community.
They arrived at the door of apartment 525.
"Knock, knock, knock," Luo Fei knocked on the door, but after a while, there was no movement inside.
"Knock, knock, knock," Luo Fei knocked harder on the door again.
"Who the hell is it!" A voice, extremely irritable and impatient, came from inside the room, followed by footsteps approaching.
"Bang, what the hell are you knocking for!" Wearing shorts, bare-chested with a tiger tattoo on his chest, with long hair and a strong physique, a young man swung the door open and cursed.
Seeing his sleepy eyes, it was clear he had just been sleeping and was disturbed by Luo Fei’s knocking, making him very unhappy.
The moment Luo Fei saw the strong young man, his expression became grave; there was a thick black aura on the young man’s head, with a grim-faced humanoid figure in the center.
Based on Luo Fei’s understanding of the Eye of Sin, to form such a grim-faced humanoid figure means committing an unforgivable crime, just like Zeng Tianming.
"Watch your mouth," Xia Zheng glared at the strong young man angrily.
"What if I curse you? Damn it, believe it or not, I’ll take you down," the young man pointed at Luo Fei and his team, his arrogance provoking a desire to slap him hard.
Seeing the arrogant young man, Luo Fei’s expression changed. He directly grabbed the young man’s hand and applied pressure.
"Ah... damn it... ah ah." The young man intended to continue his threats, but as Luo Fei’s grip intensified, he couldn’t say a word.
"What did you say just now?" Luo Fei asked coldly, tightening his grip even more. Given the grim-faced figure on this guy’s head, who knows what heinous acts he’s committed. If there’s a chance to teach him a lesson, Luo Fei didn’t mind causing him some pain.
"It hurts... It hurts..." The young man was in so much pain that his face was twisted, tears welling up in his eyes.
"This is a lesson for you," Luo Fei released the strong young man’s hand when he felt it was enough.
The young man immediately cradled his hand, feeling as though it had been crushed, his anger reaching its peak. If he could, he wished to grab a knife and kill this guy in front of him, but the lesson from earlier made him hesitant to act rashly.
"Yang Cheng, why is it so noisy?" a displeased voice followed as a woman in a sleepwear came out.
She was an alluring woman with an oval face, long and shapely legs, phoenix eyes, and a silk nightdress that accentuated her figure. This woman was Zhou Zhi, whom Luo Fei and his team were looking for.
Not surprisingly, Luo Fei also saw the grim-faced humanoid figure on Zhou Zhi’s head.
Luo Fei realized this wasn’t just a simple scam, there was surely a larger case involving Zhou Zhi and the strong young man named Yang Cheng.
"Who are you?" Zhou Zhi asked curiously upon seeing Luo Fei and the others at the door.
"We’re from the criminal investigation team. We need you to cooperate with our investigation. Please come with us," Luo Fei showed his badge, expressionless.
"What’s this about? Why go to the police station?" Zhou Zhi asked, puzzled.
"You’ll find out once you get to the station," Luo Fei didn’t bother explaining.
"Come on, Ms. Zhou Zhi, please come with us," Wang Lei spoke up as well.
"I’m not going; I have to go to work later! If I go with you to the station, I won’t go to work? Who’s going to compensate me for my economic loss? Unless you explain clearly, I’m not going," Zhou Zhi retorted bluntly.
"Yeah! Do police think they can do whatever they want? I’ll sue you," the guy who had just been taught a lesson now seemed to have forgotten it, arrogantly speaking again.
Luo Fei eyes Zhou Zhi and Yang Cheng coldly, "We’re not asking for your opinion; it’s a requirement for you to cooperate, and I hope you comply. Obstructing police work is a criminal offense."
Zhou Zhi, seeing Luo Fei’s serious, impassive demeanor, softened her stance and reluctantly said, "Then let me change first, and then I’ll go with you to the station," and without waiting for a response, she turned and went back to her room.
Luo Fei felt suspicious, as neither Zhou Zhi nor the young man named Yang Cheng showed any signs of panic. This was unusual; were they just remarkably calm?
However, upon recalling Zhou Zhi’s record of being administratively detained three times and one count of extortion and fraud, she must have had numerous encounters with the police and was likely immunized to it.
After ten minutes, Zhou Zhi came out dressed casually.
"You should also come with us," Luo Fei said to the strong young man, originally intending to target only Zhou Zhi, but clearly the young man was also involved in the extortion case.
By the time they returned to the criminal investigation team, it was 5:35. Without having dinner, they went straight into interrogating Zhou Zhi and the young man.
Confident in Luo Fei’s abilities, Zhao Donglai assigned Luo Fei and Wang Lei to interrogate the young man, while Zhao Donglai and Xia Zheng were to interrogate Zhou Zhi.
In the interrogation room, the strong man Yang Cheng sat in a chair in front of Luo Fei.
"Yang Cheng, do you know why we brought you here?" Luo Fei asked casually.
"How the hell would I know!" Yang Cheng nearly cursed upon hearing Luo Fei, but recalling the previous lesson, he restrained himself.
"You don’t know? You really don’t know what wrong you’ve done?" Luo Fei asked coldly.
"What wrong did I do? If you have evidence, arrest me; if not, let me go. I know your police tactics well," Yang Cheng relaxed back into his chair.
Wang Lei then walked into the office.
"Here’s this guy’s record," Wang Lei handed Yang Cheng’s file to Luo Fei, his face stiff.
Luo Fei glanced at it, and his expression immediately turned cold.
