CHAPTER 42: VIOLENT REACTION

The building was made of silver, polished metal, and reflective glass, under the light morning sun, it looked especially beautiful.

This time, Drew couldn’t even speak. The opulence left him completely speechless. This was by far the best piece of art and architecture he had ever seen.

Sean on the other hand, just watched with quiet admiration, as he alighted the vehicle.

’To think something like this is even possible.’ he thought, the magnificent structure reflecting in his black eyes that was marked by a ring of ruby.

’Power huh?’

"Common, let’s go in." Richelle beckoned, as she turned towards the building.

Leaving the hover car under the care of the Chauffeur, they made their way into the building.

The moment the opaque glass doors slid open, all three of them felt their senses get assaulted.

From the chatter, to the blend of different food aroma to the sight of men and women, elegantly dressed and with prim cutlery techniques, yet chattering about as they ate.

Amongst the discordant aromas, Sean perceived something that made the ring of ruby iris in his eyes, pulse and shine brightly, while his mouth began to water.

’They serve blood too.’ he thought as he took a step inside.

The next second, his pupils constricted into pinpricks, and every hair on his body stood on end. His eyes turned ruby completely, and cold sweat trickled down his back.

His body trembled against his will for reasons he didn’t know, reacting beastially as though he was before his very own predator.

"Sean?"

Sean growled, baring his canines in warning, alarm bells constantly going off in his mind.

A soothing aura covered him the next instant, clearing the fog away from his mind. And he relaxed slightly... Only slightly, as his eyes continually jumped from one face to another, trying to pinpoint the source of danger.

The whole restaurant had gone silent from the small commotion.

The new comers had suddenly blocked the door, and now one of the children amongst them was now radiating bloodlust?

"Sean!" Richelle called with a frown, and he slowly tore his eyes away from the customers.

"Miss Richelle," a young man approached cautiously, the shake in his voice, selling out just how much he didn’t want to be in this situation.

"Pleasure to have you here Miss. Would you like a VIP room?" He asked, his eyes darting between her face and Sean’s, that had turned expressionless.

Richelle looked away from Sean, and understanding the intent behind his question, especially with the looks they were getting...

"Sure," she replied.

"Thank you," the young man bowed slightly, feeling relieved. If she had said no, then he wouldn’t know what to do. Thankfully, she was cooperative. For someone like her, one word was all it would take to have him killed.

"Please, come with me." He said then ushered to Drew and Sean... Sean most especially. "Gentlemen..."

They walked quietly to an elevator, Drew feeling like he was walking inside a den of wolves.

The young man felt suffocated under the stare of so many rich people, that if not for Richelle’s presence, he probably would have already dropped to the ground and wet his pants.

The elevator opened to let them in, and they headed for a different floor.

The moment they were gone, life returned back to the silent open floor, with the main topic now hovering around Richelle and the boys.

"So that is the legendary white witch..." A young man chuckled lightly from his table, holding a glass of red liquid from which he sipped elegantly from.

A young woman seated on the same table raised a brow. "Why are you talking like this is the first time you’ve seen her?" The lady asked.

"Well, she looks more beautiful today, than I’ve ever seen her before. Might as well document it." The young man smirked, sipping slowly from his glass.

The young lady scrunched her face in disgust, looking at him with eyes of disdain.

"What’s with the look?" The young man laughed with a shrug.

"I hope you can still stay this bold before Lord Noxus. He might even reward you for complimenting his wife." The girl replied, her lips curling slightly at the end.

The young man’s smile immediately froze. Although her words sounded simple, it was like she had just asked him to go and submit his neck to be chopped.

"You sick bitch!" He cursed, and she giggled in response.

The young man snorted.

"I really don’t know what Lord Noxus see’s in her. She is a weak woman... A human woman too." He shook his head as he turned his gaze towards the elevator, from which the Richelle and the boys had gone.

"She’s not a vampire, she’s not a mana enhanced human, she’s not a genetic enhanced human, and she’s not even a mech pilot.

"If it is about beauty, well I can’t deny that she is one of the most beautiful women I have seen, but we don’t have a lack of beautiful women in Elysium...

At least someone who can bear a child with his level of talent." He concluded, turning his eyes back to their table.

"True," the young girl nodded.

"Even their sexual passion can’t be compared to ours, not to talk of a weak human woman. He even refused to take another." She said with a click of her tongue.

Her eyes then shifted to the table beside theirs, where a lone young man with black hair, and an ordinary pale face, sat with his head lowered, his fork dancing over the food on his plate.

"Hey Victor," she called. "Why are you oddly silent."

His young man however did not respond, and she frowned. The young man sitting opposite her, raising a brow too.

"Victor?" He called, but he still didn’t receive a response.

"Heyy! To Earth!" He leaned outwards, pushing the lost young man slightly.

Victor snapped his head up towards them and the young man flinched.

"What is wrong with you?" The man asked, noticing his pupils that were shining red as blood.

Victor blinked twice, then shook his head, shaking his shoulder lightly to shrug off the off the young man’s hand.

"It’s nothing," he said, returning back to his meal without a change in expression.

Inwardly though, his mind was in turmoil as Sean’s image kept popping up in his head. A face he had only seen for the second time, yet was enough to completely shake his cultivated, and disciplined mind.

’How did he survive?’ he asked himself for the nth time.
