CHAPTER 59: EARTH SHATTERING PRESSURE.

Richelle and Noxus enjoyed the examination broadcast, amidst conversations and sharing different topics.

Richelle personally had gone through a rollercoaster of emotions, to the point she was almost numb, concerning Sean and Drew, and her face wore a frown that refused to be wiped off.

Her heart had almost leapt off her chest, when she saw Sean battle a Stage-2 out-worlder for the first time, especially when he got hit.

It later shifted to pride, when he came out victorious.

She knew he was smart enough to not jump into danger he couldn’t handle, two weeks of training him, allowing her to peel and glimpse through layers of his psyche.

The person she was most worried about, was Drew. The boy moved like a beast without a sense of direction, attacking every out-worlder he met.

Like something else was controlling him. She could tell his conscious mind was dormant now, and he was operating solely based on instinct and drive.

The power level he had showcased so far, was what she’d have never expected from him, but the cost was steep.

In having his instincts which were now tainted by a beast’s, due to his genetic enhancement control him, he used his power in a way that only cared about his goal, kill any and every out-worlder.

As precise as his usage of his explosive flames were, courtesy of the bombardier beetle gene enhancement... It was only fine tuned, to dealing the most damage to the out-worlder, and not caring about himself.

His entire body was almost filled with burns, and despite her repeatedly calling the overseers to pull him out, her requests were unmet, and Drew wasn’t stopping.

When he had fought the Stage-2 out-worlder that still retained basic instincts, she had taken a more aggressive push, Noxus backing her up to pull him out.

But only one word had silenced her tirade.

Council.

It was simple, but the weight it carried, and the implications behind it, was anything but.

The development considerably ruined her mood, but nothing could have prepared her for the shock she received while watching Sean now.

For a while, Sean had stopped to rest... Or so they the onlookers had presumed, even allowing someone else race past him, after maintaining dominant position as top one, while others fought for second.

Then there was his drama with the group of four, before he eliminated them. Most had already turned their attention to more entertaining candidates, while they waited for him to get back into action.

But there were a rare few... Those who had taken interest, and were still glued to his screen, who watched him get on the move again, after eliminating the group of four.

It was as though after that, everything they knew about him was pulverized to dust. For the most part, many already believed they had an accurate value on how strong he was as a Stage-1, but the way he moved now... The speed and efficiency with which he fell out-worlders he crossed, it was like he was telling them...

"Think again".

And with eyes following his movements which seemed intentional, as for where he was heading, they didn’t know but we’re eager too... Until his movements slammed to a halt, and every one that was watching gasped.

Richelle’s pupils constricted into pinpricks!

’He can’t be...’

She didn’t bother completing the thought. She knew him like the back of her hand. Everything she knew, plus how intentional his movements were all pointed to the same answer.

He wanted to face a Stage-3 alone.

That was beyond suicidal... Stage-3s could casually wipe out a large city, up to even a state, without breaking a sweat, while he himself, would he hard pressed to do same to a reinforced building.

Using Aegis Protocol, she immediately called the academy... again.

"Miss Richelle..." The voice from the other side sounded troubled and exasperated. This was the nth time now she was calling, but they didn’t have the power to do anything.

He already knew what she wanted to ask for, but it wasn’t in his power to decide. Why was she making his life difficult for him?

"Cut the examination now!" Richelle ordered, interrupting the man mid sentence, uncaring about whatever it was he wanted to say.

The man on the other end was stunned speechless.

Of course he already knew what was going on.

Since he was an overseer... Head overseer infact... naturally, he too was watching the examination, and his attention centered around few figures, with Sean taking the lead role.

He could understand where she was coming from... Her brother was just about to do something completely stupid, but if he didn’t even have the right to pull someone out of the exam, then what right did he have shut it down.

"Miss Richelle..." The man called, his voice almost cracking.

"Connect me to them." She ordered.

Noxus on the other hand, was already making calls of his own, his face wearing a deep frown too.

The call shifted into a recorded video transmission after a few seconds. Appearing deep in her retina, an old man, with grey hair, long grey beard, and deep lnes of wrinkles and freckles on his skin.

"The examination would not be called off, and except he he uses the emergency button himself, there would be no aid to him... It doesn’t matter how talented he is..." The old man said calmly.

"Talent and potential without wisdom is useless. An average talent with great wisdom, smarts and insight, is more useful and beneficial than a supreme talent that is dumb."

"A man who doesn’t know when to take a step back, might as well be a beast."

The man went on and on, throwing in unneeded philosophy lectures, and Richelle’s expression darkened further with each sentence he made.

Noxus cursed under his breath as he detected the change, wondering just how stupid those old foggies in the council were, to trigger her.

They themselves had given her the name White Witch, why test her patience now?

The transmission abruptly cut short signalling the end of the video.

"Shit!" Noxus cursed the next second. "Richelle..."

The building they were in shattered, the debris exploding out into the distance, and alerting everyone worth their salts in Elysium... Richelle’s earth shuddering aura flaring like a beacon.
