Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes
Chapter 172: Lucian Knows-1
CHAPTER 172: CHAPTER 172: LUCIAN KNOWS-1
Lucian’s eyes narrowed for a flicker of a moment before he showed a gentle smile. "Awake?"
"Hm? Yes. I..." Lana began; however, she paused mid-sentence, staring at the pitch-black sky adorned with glittering stars through the open balcony door.
"It’s night already?"
Disbelief was evident in her voice while Lucian sighed like an old man tired from his child’s constant mischief.
"Yes. You had been unconscious for two days straight now."
Lucian’s words made Lana close her eyes in dismay.
These days, whenever she closes her eyes... she always skips a day like it was some breakfast. At the thought of breakfast, Lana’s stomach growled, and she licked her lips.
"What has been made for dinner?"
Lucian’s eyes twinkled with mirth, and he motioned the maid with his.
The next second, the mouthwatering fragrance of the food wafted in the air, making Lana gulp.
"Here. I have the kitchen prepare rice porridge, dumpling soup, stir-fried pork, and your favorite lemon-flavored soda."
Lucian’s words made Lana’s eyes brighten up, and she quickly sat up.
Only then did Lana realize that she finally could move freely. A glint flashed in her eyes, and she turned to look at Mr. Crow... only to discover that he wasn’t present in the room at all.
"Eh? Where is Mr. Crow?" Lana’s question was posed to Lucian.
Her first guess was... Lucian might have secretly kicked out Mr. Crow when she wasn’t looking.
Lucian was always like that. In her past life, he hardly let anyone near her. At first, she had mistaken it as the sign that he liked her.
But later on, she understood that Lucian preferred to make sure that all the people who came in contact were hygienic.
Hence, even when he had taken Mr. Crow away from her, she didn’t think it was odd.
Now she heavily suspected that Lucian had secretly smuggled Mr. Crow to some cleaning facilities.
"I don’t know." Lucian’s sincere words made Lana freeze, and a subtle possibility appeared in her mind.
’Maybe that crow already knew that I would make him wear a bikini! Sigh! I would deal with him later!’
The maid stepped forward to set the food tray on the side table, and the aroma of warm broth and tender pork filled the room further.
Lana’s gaze followed the rising steam, but after a moment, she forced her eyes away, not toward the food... but toward Lucian.
"Did you have dinner?"
"No." Lucian shook his head while the maids standing behind him couldn’t help but look at Lucian with pity in their eyes.
Especially Lucy; she wanted to tell Lana about how, when Lucian discovered that she was in an unconscious state, she refused to drink even a sip of water.
"Then... shall we have it together?" Lana proposed carefully, to which Lucian gave a faint nod.
The next second, the maids moved quickly and served Lucian a portion.
Later, some more dishes were brought in, such as roasted chicken glazed with honey, a bowl of fragrant mushroom stew, finely sliced pickled vegetables, and a plate of golden spring rolls so crisp that the sound alone could tempt a starving soul back to life.
Warm light from the chandelier reflected off the dishes, making them look almost unreal, like a feast painted into existence.
Lana blinked at the sudden abundance, her lips twitching. "Are we feeding an army?"
Lucian, who had just settled into the chair beside her bed, responded with a calm expression that didn’t match the tiny spark of smugness hiding in his eyes.
"I told them to bring anything light, anything healthy, and anything you usually eat when you’re upset."
Lana stared at him. "But I’m not upset."
Lucian raised a brow gently.
"You woke up and immediately threatened the air with a question about Mr. Crow. You’re upset."
"...That’s not the same thing," Lana muttered under her breath, though even she wasn’t convinced by her own argument.
The maids tried to hide their smiles, but Lucy’s shoulders trembled quietly.
After the breakfast was over, Lana thought about her professor and pressed her hand on her head, "Sh*t, I forgot to ask for leave from Axel."
Without the leave application, credits will be deducted. Thinking about her negative credits, Lana almost wanted to cry.
"I had applied for leave on your behalf." Lucian’s gentle voice soothed Lana’s heart, and she almost wanted to throw herself at him.
See! This was her white moonlight! He takes care of everything for her!
Lana suddenly remembered the water spirit, and her eyes brightened. Since her rebirth, she hadn’t seen Lucian summoning the water spirit.
In her past life, she had befriended all of the spirits Lucian owned.
Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Plant, Light, and Darkness.
There was also a Metal spirit, but due to Lucian’s death, Lana wasn’t able to know them.
Even though Lucian refused to let her make contact with them because they get attached to her very easily, and he only wants his future wife to be close with them, Lana loved them.
Because of their relationship as superior and subordinate, Lucian was strictly able to implement laws for her.
But in this life...
"Where is the water spirit?" Lana asked with an innocent face, making Lucian fall silent.
"It’s... sleeping." His response was measured as if he were uninterested in the topic.
But to Lana, it doesn’t matter. In this life, they were on an equal footing, and she had a suspicion that her identity as a mystic cultivator had drastically uplifted her status in the relationship; hence, she could make demands, and Lucian won’t have any choice but to fulfill them!
Call her a villain, but she can never let go of a chance to exploit and have closer ties with Lucian!
"I want to see it." Lana blinked; her beautiful blue eyes stared into Lucian’s.
Just for a flicker of a moment... Lucian seemed to see the similarity in Lana and the silver cat.
Even Lana didn’t know that... because of her bear outfit, her silver hairs were peeking from the side, while her blue eyes resembled her cat form’s eyes.
