CHAPTER 28: CHAPTER 28: VARIABLES

Lana was troubled; her whiskers dropped, and she sighed like an old man.

Under the dim light of the bedroom, her pristine silver glistened, while her sapphire blue eyes looked like magical orbs. Mesmerizing and beautiful.

Due to her facial expression, she looked as if someone had given her a 2,400-year-old unsolvable math problem.

Lucian tried his best to hold back his laughter and asked in a neutral tone, "Why are you frowning?"

Lana’s paws touched the cold button in rapid succession, and a statement appeared on the screen. "My teleportation is random."

"Oh? Then it’s even simpler. I will wait for you with the cash every day. And when you teleport again, just take the bag with you." Lucian’s suggestion was a good one; however, Lana didn’t agree.

There were too many variables. When will she be teleported to Lucian’s side the next time? Can she teleport the cash with her or not? And the most important one... what if the next time she teleports to Lucian’s side, and he is somewhere outside?

Considering all the variables, Lana suddenly had an idea. She furiously typed on the laptop, and the next second, a statement appeared on the screen.

"Just hand it to Monk Anaro of the public temple named Blessed by Nytheris and say it’s a donation."

Lucian was puzzled. Why a monk? Was she related to the temple? Or was she... ugh... he is a Monk Anaro?

The mere thought was enough to send chills down Lucian’s spine.

’I am overthinking. If this kitten were Monk Anaro... why would he lick my pecs? From her words... she seems to be female. But Monk Anaro doesn’t have any daughter or wife.’

Lana, seeing Lucian’s confusion, smirked and typed, "I want to do a charitable deed."

Charitable deed? Doesn’t seem like it. Lucian thought in his heart.

However, before Lucian could speak those words, a white light enveloped Lana, and the next second, she vanished from her spot.

Lucian stared at the empty spot before chuckling, "What a strange, smart cat..."

She knew that tracing cash would be difficult, and if the money was donated in a temple and she stole it... or had some relationship with Monk Anaro and took it away, then the chances of Lucian knowing her real identity would be close to zero.

"Let’s see how smart you are then."

......................

Lana returned to the room in the temple. As the biting ache from her butt spread to her spine, a groan escaped her mouth.

"Ouch! Fuck! That hurts!"

"You have returned? Where were you? Are you alright? What had happened?" Mr. Crow’s concerned voice echoed in Lana’s ears, making her temporarily forget her pain.

"Yes. I had teleported to a safe location. I am alright." Lana answered as many questions as she could and slowly lay on the floor.

Mr. Crow flapped his wings and slowly descended upon Lana’s stomach.

"You look drained... why don’t you sleep?" He muttered under his breath. Though cultivation can help Lana feel less sleepy and her body condition will not deteriorate, Lana can’t completely substitute her sleep with cultivation.

"Hm? Sleep? I don’t feel sleepy." Lana replied in an absent-minded tone; her mind was flooded with memories of Lucian’s chest, and slowly her cheeks turned red.

A beautiful young woman lying on the floor with her wavy silver hair spread across the almost black lunacite stone, her cheeks flushed, her ivory skin glistening under the moonlight, while the sapphire eyes shining...it was a mesmerizing scene.

’Did she become beautiful after a breakthrough?’ Mr. Crow wondered in his heart.

He had to admit that, though Lana lacked brains, her beauty was unrivaled. Almost like a goddess...

’Thank god she is not a player; otherwise, even the Almond family will feel trouble fending off themselves against their enemy.’

Lana’s long eyelashes fluttered, her eyelids were becoming heavy, and slowly her resistance started to corrode.

’No... don’t sleep.’ She commanded herself, yet the fatigue and heaviness in her eyes were something she couldn’t fight anymore.

’She is asleep? Ah! What a careless girl...’ Mr. Crow sighed, and the next second, his eyes flashed with a pink glow as he slowly lifted Lana from the ground and placed her on the bed using his psychic power.

The familiar sense of helplessness didn’t wash over him again.

’Her cultivation has risen, and since I am in an equal contract with her, I benefited indirectly too.’ Mr. Crow thought in his heart.

For the next two hours, he cultivated.

His deep cultivation state was broken at 1 pm.

"No... No... Don’t do it! Don’t!" Lana’s voice, filled with panic and fear, sounded in Mr. Crow’s ears.
