CHAPTER 119: CLUE FOR DAUGHTER

Emma shouted loudly, afraid Steven wouldn’t hear her.

Unfortunately, Steven had left for work at the company early in the morning. No matter how loud she shouted, he couldn’t hear her now.

"Dad went to the company. He might not be back until the afternoon."

Hearing Alex say this, she looked visibly disappointed.

"Okay then, let’s go play with Brother~"

On the other hand, Cecilia was quite delighted. With the old-fashioned man not at home, she could take Alex out to play with no worries.

"Alex, do you want to go out with Mom and your sister?"

Alex nodded happily. "Yes!"

Thus, he placed the watch Emma had bought for Steven in the living room before happily going out with Cecilia.

The three played wildly all day. By the time they had to reluctantly part, it was already late in the day.

After dropping Alex off at the Lawrence family’s door, Alex’s hands were filled with bags. He jumped out of the car to say goodbye to Cecilia and Emma with a smile.

"Goodbye, Mom and Sister~"

Cecilia waved at him with a smile, and Emma sweetly said, "Goodbye, Brother~ Remember to miss me~"

After they had left, Alex happily walked into the living room, only to see Steven sitting seriously on the sofa.

"Why did you go out with strangers?"

It had been a long time since Steven had spoken to him so sternly. After all, he was still just a kid; he still felt a bit scared and unjustly blamed.

"It wasn’t a stranger, it was Mom."

Seeing his son’s aggrieved look, Steven realized he had been too harsh. He was just worried that Alex might have been taken away by someone with bad intentions.

But hearing that he had gone out with Cecilia, he felt relieved.

"You bought so many things?"

Alex immediately brightened up and proudly introduced them to Steven, "These are some clothes, a necklace, some Lego, and this is the latest digital..."

As he spoke, he glanced over and saw Steven’s puzzled look. He pouted and said, "Forget it, these are things for young people. You wouldn’t understand even if I explained. I’m going to bed."

Every time he excitedly talked to Steven about programming or Lego, Dad always didn’t seem to understand. He didn’t even know his own son was already a computer genius.

With that, he quickly ran upstairs. He wanted to explore the things Cecilia had bought for him thoroughly!

Back in his room, he became engrossed in the little gadgets and completely forgot about the watch Emma had left in the living room.

On the other hand, Steven was exasperated, but he had to admit his son was right.

In business, he had always been victorious, but those things Alex had mentioned were stuff he genuinely hadn’t looked into. However, if Alex wanted to learn them, he could also master them for him!

He couldn’t stand being outdone by Cecilia!

She didn’t even send him a birthday greeting, yet she bought so many things for Alex.

If she liked him, didn’t she understand that directly giving him a gift would be more effective?

Could it be that she was playing a game of push and pull?

As he pondered this, a call came from Zane.

Steven answered, "Is there news about my daughter?"

Zane’s voice couldn’t hide his excitement. "Yes, I’ve finally found a clue. The young lady is currently in Ethan’s hotel!"

Steven abruptly stood up.

Considering she was streaming online, he had thought his daughter could’ve been anywhere in the world. However, he hadn’t expected her to be so close by.

"Drive over and pick me up, we’re going there now!"

He couldn’t wait to reunite with his daughter!

Zane’s car arrived quickly. The two got in and headed straight for the hotel!

What was supposed to be a half-hour drive took them only fifteen minutes. According to the real-time location on Zane’s phone, Steven set his eyes on the 29th floor.

He was about to enter the elevator when he sensed something was off.

The 29th floor was where Cecilia and Emma were staying.

‘It should just be a coincidence, right?’

Without much time to ponder it further, he stepped into the elevator heading to the 29th floor.

The elevator soon arrived. As the doors opened, he came face-to-face with Cecilia and Emma, who were just returning to their room.

Just then, Zane’s phone location kept flashing, emitting a rapid beeping sound.

"It’s you?!"
