CHAPTER 134: AUNT OLIVE

Immediately, Larry let out a frightened shout.

“Dad, I was the one who asked Mom to call you. Don’t hit her!”

Hearing that Cole had hit Olive, Rainy was shocked. Without thinking twice, she pushed the door open and rushed into the hospital room.

“Sis! Are you okay?”

Olive stood beside Larry, covering her face while too scared to speak. Hearing Rainy’s voice, her face turned even more terrible.

“It’s none of your business!”

Cole turned around at the sound of Rainy’s voice and glared at her.

“Who are you?”

Rainy’s eyebrows furrowed as she met his gaze.

“I am her sister. What gives you the right to hit her?”

He looked at her before he looked at Olive, raising his hand to strike her face even harder.

Rainy saw this and quickly rushed forward to block his hand, forcefully pushing it aside.

Fortunately, she had some practice with Cecilia overseas for a while and had some strength. Otherwise, this slap would have landed on her face.

Cole’s slap missed, so he erupted with anger.

“You shameless woman! You know how to find backup now, huh?!”

“Didn’t you say your whole family was dead? Where did this sister come from?”

“You’re just a habitual liar, trying to trick me into thinking Larry was sick so I’d come see you. You’re hopeless!”

On the other hand, Larry was crying uncontrollably in bed and hurried to explain for his mother.

“Dad, I really fainted. Please don’t blame Mom...”

Olive nodded, saying, “Larry accidentally hit his head at kindergarten and passed out. I rushed over here...”

However, Cole didn’t care about her explanation at all. He just wanted to vent the frustration from his work failures.

He yelled at her angrily, “How could you take care of a child like this? You’re useless! Do you know how much money I’ve lost by coming here today?”

“If you can’t take good care of Larry, plenty of other people can!”

Olive knew he was threatening her. What he said wasn’t wrong; she wasn’t his only mistress, and each one of them was waiting to replace her. Larry was his only son, so he was a prize they were all competing for.

She quickly wiped her tears, holding Larry protectively as she said, “You are right. It’s my fault. I won’t let it happen again.”

Then, she turned to her son. She forced a smile and instructed, “Son, quickly say goodbye to your dad.”

Larry was trembling as he said goodbye to his father. On the other hand, Cole only snorted.

“Make sure you catch up on any classes you missed today. If you can’t get into the elite class next semester, you will be in big trouble!”

Hearing the words “elite class,” Larry couldn’t help but shrink into his mother’s arms.

Rainy couldn’t stand it anymore. Her sister had been raised so delicately; how could she endure this humiliation?

Moreover, staying with a man like this would only bring endless torment in the future.

She said to Cole, “Having a habit of hitting people and threatening them, you don’t even qualify to be called a man!”

Cole looked at the slim but beautiful woman in front of him with disdain.

“And who are you to interfere with me?”

As he said that, he sized her up.

“Your figure seems better than your sister’s, and your face is prettier. Since you’re family anyway, why not...”

“You can follow me and take care of Larry for her. If you do well, I’ll marry you eventually. How about that?”

Rainy was so furious upon hearing this that her eyes turned red.

This man didn’t even consider her or Olive as human beings—he only saw them as mere objects he could freely use and discard!

Olive was also enraged by his words. She had complied with everything he asked, yet he had the audacity to humiliate her in front of Larry and Rainy. She couldn’t bear this treatment anymore.

She stood up and met his arrogant eyes.

“Get out of here!”

Cole was surprised by her sudden retaliation. He gritted his teeth as he pinched her chin tightly, saying, “You dare to order me?

“In case you didn’t know, you could never have everything you have now without me. I was the one who made you!”

Olive’s chin hurt so much that her tears were spilling out. Despite that, she stubbornly replied, “I don’t need your lies. Just let me take Larry away, and I promise never to appear in front of you again.”

He glared at her menacingly, his face terrifying.

“Impossible, Larry is my son—even if you die, I won’t let you take him!”

Rainy was heartbroken and tried to push Cole’s hand away, but he clung on like a madman. Just as she was anxiously trying to resolve the situation, a childish voice suddenly echoed in the room.

"Let Aunt Olive go now!"
