CHAPTER 132: CH 132: ENJOY THE VACATION? - PART 4

Kana’s head throbbed faintly as a wave of dizziness washed over her, but she clenched her jaw and shook it off with force.

Her vision wavered for a moment before the familiar blue glow flickered at the corner of her sight.

[Due to your passive skill [Max Recovery] and innate skill [Resistance], the effects of the sleeping incense have been nullified.]

Kana exhaled slowly, steadying her breathing.

’Sleeping incense... so that’s what this is...’

The faint, sweet scent lingering in the air made sense now. If not for her resistance, she’d already be unconscious.

That realization made her grip tighten as she glanced toward the fallen "massager," the woman sprawled on the floor, still breathing but unmoving.

Kana crouched low, her muscles tense, when the soft creak of the door reached her ears. Her senses sharpened immediately.

Several shadows slipped into the room with casual laughter, their voices hushed but brimming with confidence.

"Man, I told you this would be easy. The moment she goes under, we grab her and get out. Owner’s gonna pay through the nose for her safe return."

One whispered, tossing his gloves onto the bed as if he owned the place.

"Split five ways, we’re set for life. Didn’t expect the girl to take down our inside contact, though. That’s gonna be a pain."

Another chuckled, nudging the limp woman on the ground with his foot.

Kana stayed completely still in the shadowed corner of the room, her sharp gaze fixed on them.

Their plan became clearer with every passing second. These weren’t just random criminals — they were resort employees using their access to carry out a kidnapping.

They thought she’d be unconscious. They thought she’d be helpless.

They were wrong.

While they whispered about their grand payout, Kana had already triggered the silent alarm through the small control panel near the bed.

The security alert was sent directly to Emma’s authority line, bypassing anyone else who might interfere.

When the last of the intruders stepped inside and closed the door behind them, Kana finally stood, her figure emerging from the shadows.

"Welcome."

She said softly, her voice calm but cutting through the silence like a blade.

The three intruders froze instantly.

"W-What the hell—?! You— you were supposed to be out cold!"

The man in front stuttered, eyes widening when he saw her awake and standing.

Kana tilted her head slightly, her expression unreadable.

"I’m afraid your little plan won’t be working tonight."

They exchanged panicked glances, and one of them growled.

"Tch. Doesn’t matter if you’re awake. There’s three of us and one of you."

Kana’s gaze remained steady, almost cold.

"You really think numbers will save you?"

The lead man sneered, trying to regain his confidence.

"Don’t bluff. Once security gets here, you’ll regret this. They’re with us. No one’s going to save you."

Kana’s lips curved into the faintest smile.

"Is that so?"

Before they could react, the sound of rapid footsteps echoed down the corridor. Heavy boots against polished floors — multiple people approaching quickly.

The kidnappers straightened, smugness returning to their faces.

"That’s them. Game over for her."

One whispered with relief.

The door burst open a moment later, and four uniformed resort security members stepped in. For the briefest moment, the intruders relaxed. But then, their smirks faltered.

The guards moved past them.

In a fluid motion, they turned on the kidnappers, forcing them against the wall and pinning their arms behind their backs with practiced efficiency.

The intruders cried out in shock.

"W-What the hell are you doing?!" one shouted, thrashing violently.

"We’re on your side! We had a deal!"

"You had-!"

A cold voice cut through the chaos, silencing the room.

Emma stepped in, her heels clicking softly against the marble floor. Her usually warm demeanor was gone, replaced with a sharp, icy presence that filled the entire space.

Her expression was calm, but her eyes burned with barely restrained fury.

She crossed her arms and leveled a glare at the restrained kidnappers.

"You thought you could use my resort to pull this off?"

The men stiffened, their arrogance dissolving into panic as reality sank in.

Emma’s gaze shifted briefly to Kana, softening for just a heartbeat, making sure she was unharmed. Seeing Kana standing tall, calm and steady, seemed to put her at ease.

She turned back to the criminals, her voice as sharp as glass.

"You’ve disgraced my resort. And you thought I wouldn’t notice? That I wouldn’t act?"

She said quietly, her tone carrying more weight than a scream ever could.

The leader of the group swallowed hard, sweat rolling down his forehead.

"L-Look, we—we were just trying to—"

"Save it. You’ll explain yourselves to the authorities."

Emma interrupted coldly, her sharp glare freezing him in place.

Kana stood silently, watching the entire exchange unfold. Relief seeped into her chest, but beneath it, unease lingered.

These weren’t just desperate criminals — they were staff members trusted to ensure the safety of the guests.

And worse... if they were this bold, then someone higher up had given them confidence to act.

Kana lowered her gaze slightly, her fists curling at her sides. She knew this wasn’t over.

But for now... she was safe.

Emma turned back toward Kana, her expression softening again.

"I’ll have guards stationed outside your door for the rest of the night. This won’t happen again."

She said gently, her tone warmer now.

Kana nodded quietly.

"Thank you, Emma."

As the restrained intruders were dragged out one by one, their muttered protests fading into the distance, Kana stood by the doorway, her thoughts tangled.

She’d avoided danger tonight. But the unease in her chest refused to leave.

Emma placed a reassuring hand on Kana’s shoulder, her expression soft but firm.

"If anything else happens, no matter how small, report directly to me. Understood?"

Kana nodded, her voice steady despite the lingering tension.

"I promise, I will."

Emma gave her one last searching look before turning and leaving the room with the guards.

The moment the door clicked shut, Kana’s legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the bed. She buried her face into the sheets, releasing a deep, shaky sigh.

"Another danger... avoided."

She whispered to herself, exhaustion finally crashing over her.
