CHAPTER 745: SYSTEM CREDITS

"Time to convert some high-rank loot into System Credits." Shane muttered as he took out the Conversion Device II from his inventory...

Just like what the description said, it was indeed a handheld scanner... Compared to the previous Conversion Device he had used almost a year ago, this scanner seemed to feel more comfortable in his hands.

’Well... Let’s start with Zombie Cores and Item Upgrade Crystals...’ Shane muttered as he decided to take them out from his inventory.

[ The points have been successfully credited to your account. ]

Shane then thought for a moment as he looked at his pile of Item Upgrade Crystals. After some consideration, he decided to put them back in his inventory...

’They’re too valuable...’ Shane thought to himself... Instead of that, he took out one of his unused Silver Daggers and scanned with the device.

Ding!

[ Conversion Complete. ]

[ Your Master-Grade Silver Dagger has been valued at 320 Points. ]

[ The points have been successfully credited to your account. ]

"About 300 points for a Master Grade item..." Shane gently nodded as he had already forgotten how the system had valued his items before.

He tried once again to ensure that he got a good reference.

Ding!

[ Your Rare-Grade Silver Dagger has been valued at 180 Points. ]

[ The points have been successfully credited to your account. ]

"So this is how it works... Alright..."

With this comparison, he already had a general idea and he knew that he’d be able to earn a lot more points if he actually used his Item Upgrade Crystals instead of converting them directly.

Still, he wasn’t done assessing the number of points he could get based on the quality of the items.

Soon, he took out one of his fist-sized High Purity Mana Stones. He had plenty of these, and they were all high-quality ones.

If he gets a thousand for each of them or maybe even just 500 Points, he would be guaranteed a top spot for the most wealth a Survivor had.

Shane hold his breath as he started to scan the Mana Stone.

’I hope it can be recognized.’ Shane prayed since this item wasn’t from this world to begin with.

Thankfully, his worry was for naught

"What?!" Shane was shocked as soon as he saw just how much he had obtained from a single stone! After all, he had thousands of them when he collected them in the Mana Lake within the Fairy Realm.

In the meantime, as Shane was already trying to test the amount of points he could get from his items, the Survivors who were lucky enough to get invited were already celebrating.

After all, only the top 10,000 Survivors were invited to this Auction Event!

Because of that, those who were accepted just couldn’t help but celebrate. This was especially true for those who hadn’t been chosen before.

Indeed, the bustling market was livelier than ever, and not just because of the items being sold out...

Those lucky enough to be chosen couldn’t contain their excitement.

Klara, Layla, and Laura were among the Survivors enjoying a well-earned break from hunting outside the Shelter had just gotten the confirmation of their participation.

As a matter of fact, the three of them had just left a small food stall, carrying skewers of grilled meat, when they got the message.

"This is awesome... I still can’t believe we’re actually included..." Klara said with a smile. She had Rare-Grade Elemental Manipulator Talent, and even with that, she didn’t get a chance to attend the previous Regional Auction.

She clutched her newly purchased item pouch tightly, as she had upgraded this to Legendary after several tries.

She was now considering whether to convert it to points or System Credits or maybe not.

"I thought I’d barely make it. Honestly, I was preparing myself for disappointment." She muttered.

Layla, the one with Master-Grade Telekinesis, grinned confidently as she bent her skewer with a casual wave of her hand.

"I knew I’d get in. I’ve been grinding nonstop the past few weeks. Still... I’m glad I can attend with the two of you." Layla muttered as she recalled how the previous Auction went.

Laura, on the other hand, looked like she was still in shock. "I really didn’t think I had a high enough level..." she muttered.

Her Uncommon-Grade Telepathy wasn’t exactly a flashy or powerful talent, especially compared to Layla’s.

"I mean, I could only see up to the top 500 on the leaderboard. The rest are hidden. I thought... I was just average."

Klara gave her a gentle nudge. "You’ve always been smarter than you gave yourself credit for. You might not have the strongest power, but your support during raids always makes a difference. Your level might be below ours, but you’re still up there... You’re probably in the Top 2,000 Survivors or something."

"And you leveled up fast, especially during that last expedition." Layla added. "I’m proud of you."

Laura chuckled softly. "Well, I guess it’s finally paying off..."

Around them, other Survivors were also talking excitedly. Some were practically shouting with joy, others making plans for what they might have to convert into points. One group even broke into a dance right in front of a potion vendor.

Even Jillian, the famous bard known throughout multiple Shelters for her voice and morale-boosting skills, was seen walking near the market square with a stunned look on her face.

"I made it?" she muttered aloud. "I didn’t even... I’m not even a fighter..."

Her way of leveling up was similar to production classes, where she gets experience with every work she does with her Talent.

"You sang for the entire frontlines during the Fourth Zombie Wave..." someone reminded her with a smile. "You deserve it."

Not far from there, Lysandra, one of Shane’s closest friends and known for her Quick Learner talent, leaned against a weapon rack as she started flipping through a storage list.

She didn’t look particularly shocked, she’d expected to be chosen as soon as she saw the Global Auction Event after all...

Instead, she had a different concern. She didn’t want to just attend the event. She wanted to participate in the Auction and perhaps find an item that would be suited for her.

’Should I sell my Random Skill Scrolls to Shane?’ Lysandra considered for a moment.

With her Quick Learner Talent, she could easily learn Skills as long as she had enough time to analyze them.

She was only keeping her Skill Scroll in case she needed something from Shane or other Survivors, and she would use it for a trade.

"...I need to find more gear and items to convert." she mumbled. "I don’t want to go into the auction without enough points."

She also had several Item Upgrade Crystals, Zombie Lord Set, Silver Daggers, Talismans, Tokens, Gold Coins, and other stuff.

He was hoping that he’d get about 10 to 20,000 points at the very least.

After all, with 10,000 Participants, the competition would be fierce for sure.

Then, as she was considering what to do, a soft ding from the system occurred, notifying him that there was a Clan Message.

With this alert, it must’ve come from the Vice Clan Leader Raze or perhaps the Clan Leader himself, Shane.

[ Shane: Attention, all Survivors chosen to attend the Global Auction... ]

[ Shane: As a show of appreciation and to help everyone participate meaningfully, five Mana Stones will be provided to each qualified Survivor. Use the Conversion Device to convert them into System Credits. Make sure you’re ready before the event starts. That is all. ]

As soon as they read this, they immediately felt excited. After all, they knew that the Mana Stones contained so much energy or power within!

It must’ve a lot of points!

Then, Shane repeated a message, and this time, it was sent across the Shelter’s loudspeakers.

For a moment, there was silence as they absorbed the news.

Then—

"YESSS!"

Cheers erupted across the Shelter.

Some jumped in place, others hugged their friends.

Shouts of "We’re going shopping!" and "Let’s goooo!" echoed all over the market.

"Hahaha! Thank you, Lord Shane!"

Klara, Layla, and Laura exchanged high fives as they knew that they’d surely get enough points with Shane’s assistance.

They all couldn’t help but feel excited about this news.

"This is gonna be fun," Layla grinned.

"Let’s make the most of it," Klara said with a nod.

Laura simply smiled as she recalled the handsome face of their Clan Leader...

Well, everyone was grateful to him, and many of them couldn’t help but look at the nearest Monument or even a Painting depicting Shane’s figure.

"Should we start working?" Layla asked.

She already had a few things in mind that she wanted to convert.

This includes the Starry Night Knives, High-Grade Spirit Stones, Rare to Epic Grade Weapons, and even some Zombie Parts that had no purpose for her.

With all those things, she hoped that her participation in the Auction would be pleasant.
