CHAPTER 193: CHAPTER 189: REPOPULATING THE MASSES

Blaze flexed his fingers. Possessing an alien body was truly a strange feeling. He closed his new eyes and began scanning the body from the inside out. Now that it was filled with undead organs and blood, everything inside the man’s body was under his control.

"Let’s see... they have three filtration organs similar to kidneys and only... one testicle? No wonder conceiving children is considered a miracle here."

The organs were all over the place, as he had already seen in the experiments before. But perhaps the strangest thing they had was their second heart.

Instead of a pair of lungs, they only had one that occupied most of their torso. The hearts in question operated from within the singular lung, which also provided a second layer of protection to the vital organs.

Their bone structure was similar to that of humans, which wasn’t all that strange considering they did similar work as humans. The only external organ that set them apart was... their tail.

The natives of Sadarla were yet to shed the tail following their evolution. Blaze had wondered what it would feel like to have a tail, and now he realized it was truly strange.

Unlike the other organs, which were under direct control of the aliens, their tails had a mind of their own and kept swaying around. Also, it was another factor that led to low reproductive rates in the Sadarlans.

The females tend to love their tails more than the males because of one reason. The tails were thicker and easier to deal with than a mate’s genitalia.

"All those alien movies were inherently wrong," Blaze sighed, shaking his head. "The aliens aren’t better than humans in these things."

Since Blaze wanted to control Sadarla before the Collective arrived there, he needed a way to solve their reproductive issues. Only if they reproduced could he rule over them for a long time.

No wonder multiple tribes died out in a few months.

It was a planet destined to die out. Perhaps that’s why Anur brought him there, as she knew the Collective wouldn’t have any interest in a dying world.

Only when Blaze populated it would the Collective realize something was strange and send observer ships to collect data there. Lost in his thoughts, Blaze scratched his wrinkly chin.

"A way to increase reproduction, but not at an unnatural pace," he mumbled. "You’ve truly left me in a weird place, Anur."

The first solution that came to his mind was genetic correction.

Now that his control extended to cells within an organism and he had better technology at his disposal, he could compare the genes of a human and change the Sadarlan genes accordingly.

But for that, he would need to enter the womb of a woman and check things out.

"Hell no, just the thought grosses me out," Blaze shook his head, keeping that plan as the last resort.

He looked at the old man’s reproductive organs.

"...there’s one other way."

Instead of changing the genes of every newborn, he could simply change the genes of a few and get them to impregnate other women.

He could have done the same to the females, but since the Sadarlans had a gestation cycle of 16-earth months, which rendered his plan too slow.

That wasn’t the problem with the males. They could impregnate someone and move on to the next.

"...why didn’t I think of it earlier?"

Blaze looked around at the countless bodies he had sacrificed, which he could have used to set his plan into motion.

Not to mention, it would take God knows how long for the females to accept such a foreign DNA. Then how many miscarriages would happen and whatnot.

Blaze had thought his conquest was progressing quite fast, but the sudden realization made all the progress nonexistent.

"Better late than never. Hm... should I also start the resurrection experiments? I have the material for it."

Sometime later...

The guards were patrolling the village in the night when they noticed something. The familiar hum of the divine chariot made them panic.

After all, whenever the chariot appeared, a sacrifice had to be sent to the temple. But it hadn’t even been a day since the last sacrifice, so why was it there?

People had already gathered at the square by the time the ship descended. The last to arrive was Su’li since he was having trouble sleeping in the absence of his maids.

Everyone bowed as the ship’s doors opened, only to stand right back up in disbelief.

"How dare you return?" Su’li roared as soon as he saw the old man walk out.

Although he was referred to as the old man, he was anything but old. His hunched stature was long gone, and so were the wrinkles all over his body. He wasn’t even bald anymore. The old man looked like he was Mishka’s older brother.

But the thing that stood out the most was his eyes. They were shining brightly as if someone had mended his broken soul, both inside and out.

Not to mention, one of God’s messengers was on his shoulders!

"Skr..." Fester screeched, asking if he should kill the shaman.

"Wh-What is the meaning of this?" Su’li stuttered as he felt a familiar presence from the old man’s body.

"You don’t recognize me?" Blaze roared.

Once again, the tribesmen fell to their knees. Even if they couldn’t recognize their god’s appearance, they remembered his voice clearly.

"I have molded this mortal’s form to my liking," Blaze continued. "From now on, I shall live among you and teach you the ways of the gods."

Blaze had expected the tribe to react weirdly, yet they seemed overjoyed by his announcement. Everyone did, except Su’li. Perhaps he felt the old man was acting.

Well, it doesn’t matter what he thinks. He’s useless to me now. Fester...

The rat didn’t even wait for Blaze to instruct it and lunged towards Su’li, using its tail to impale the alien’s throat. Just like that, the shaman they all feared died choking on his blood.

Ignoring Su’li’s gurgling sounds, Blaze turned towards the tribals with one instruction.

"Every woman willing to receive my seed can join me tonight."

The tribe went silent before breaking into a frenzy. Everyone wanted to please the god, even men.

What the hell have I done?
