CHAPTER 194: CHAPTER 190: THE HERETIC GOD

Months passed.

Yet, in terms of results, years must have passed.

What started as a little fun experiment bore results beyond Blaze’s calculations. The gestation cycle of 16 earth months had been reduced to seven.

How did that happen? Blaze had no idea.

Perhaps because he used his own DNA instead of replicating it, the results wildly varied in reality. To avoid inbreeding later, he intentionally didn’t impregnate every woman.

Only a fifth of the total women received his ’child’, which wasn’t much different from the Blightspore on Earth. Something he adequately named Necroseed.

After all, he used the necroseed to spread the virus on Earth. It was only right to continue its legacy, even though it was a glorified version of artificial insemination.

Why, you thought he’d do it the old way?

Where was the fun in that?

The only reason he took hold of a mortal form was to successfully produce his ’seeds’. Besides, using the old, hands-on approach was too wasteful, even if he did have infinite stamina.

Instead, the women he ’slept’ with were taken to his hut through which he possessed them, then later carried them to the ship and artificially impregnated them.

But the mission wasn’t a resounding success. There were a lot of miscarriages. Roughly, only half of the children survived, but those who did had strange... abilities.

While they were categorized as undead, they were in fact alive, inside out. Some of them could control elements. Some had heightened senses, and some even had prominent physical features.

But all of them had one thing in common.

Blind loyalty... to the undead.

It was like he had created his own line of Spartans.

The tribesmen called them the children of God, but for Blaze, they were his successful test-tube babies. Now he had two tasks left. First, to raise his ’children’ and second, to create more children.

Thankfully, he had no shortage of people to use as incubators.

But that wasn’t the issue at hand.

Who would have thought pretending to be a god could lead to such a mess?

Were there religious fanatics on Earth? Yes.

It was the same in Sadarla, only much worse.

The gist was that every tribe on the planet had its own morals and gods it served. Naturally, when there are varied beliefs, disagreements will happen. Sadly, these tribes only knew one way to sort out disagreements.

Complete annihilation.

Unless one tribe submitted to the other and accepted its belief, the war would keep waging on. Blaze was made aware of it early on after going through the memories of those he consumed.

That’s why to legitimize his standing as a god, he eradicated other tribes while taking in all of their knowledge and beliefs. He thought that would be enough, but that wasn’t the case.

Doing so only got attention from stronger tribes. No, I should call it a kingdom.

The strongest religion on Sadarla, the religion of three celestial bodies, and the inherent enemies of the God of Decay, was sending its armies to confront Blaze’s new tribe of believers.

Usually, Blaze would rejoice for getting fresh food to feed on, but that was the last thing on his mind. Why? Because he didn’t want to stand out.

He could have easily ruled the world if he had wanted, yet he remained lowkey to avoid unnecessary attention from the Collective. Anur had mentioned it in her note.

While fighting among tribes was common, it was uncommon for the underdog to win. Not to mention, the Solia Kingdom hadn’t lost a battle once.

Compared to Solia, Blaze’s tribe hadn’t won a single direct confrontation with others. The only reason for their peaceful life was because their God eliminated all hindrances.

If any righteous observer noticed the Solia lost against a small tribe, the collective’s ships would be hovering over the planet before the year ended. If that happened, Blaze wouldn’t have any place to run.

After all, the ship was a mess, and leaving the planet in soul form was out of the question because it was too fucking slow. Wandering the endless space would make him insane.

"But illnesses... they can break out anywhere, right?"

The earliest biological warfare on Earth was recorded in the Middle Ages. It was a simple method of tossing disease-ridden corpses into water streams to contaminate everything around.

As for a proper disease breakout, it happened during the Pontiac War in North America, where blankets and handkerchiefs contaminated with smallpox were given to the natives as ’gifts’, which later caused an outbreak.

Blaze was thinking along the same lines. As long as the cause was natural, the Collective shouldn’t care about a fallen kingdom. Not only using such a method would save him from the Collective, but it would also solidify the faith of Sadarlans in him.

It was a win-win situation.

Most importantly, he had a disease carrier with him.

"Fester, would you mind doing a little something for me?"

"Skree!"

At the same time, far away in the north of the continent, there was a city, perhaps the greatest on the planet. The dense roads and bustling markets were known to trade goods from all around the continent.

It was Solarius, the Solia kingdom’s capital city. Also known as the city of a thousand temples.

Unlike most tribes of Sadarla, Solia believed in the existence of multiple gods and welcomed others to share their way of life with them.

But they draw the line on inviting or praising heretic gods. Such as the god of plague, the god of decay, or the god of drought. The gods who didn’t help the Solia were all referred to as heretic gods.

Right now, the leaders of the priests of all the temples had convened together to discuss one issue.

The sudden appearance of the God of Decay.

"The prophecy is... speaks the truth. The day of heretics is upon us! We must erase anyone who dares to worship such false gods!"

Everyone nodded along. While the temples had grudges against one another, they were all united when it came to punishing the heretics. Especially because it was in line with the prophecy.

The prophecy of their beloved planet’s destruction.
