Chapter 37: Master of Archery
CHAPTER 37: CHAPTER 37: MASTER OF ARCHERY
Su Changxing looked at the items at the top of the inventory at first glance, they were skills and weapons.
[Master of Archery Skill (Precious), 90% off, 700 Points]
[Shadow Compound Bow (Extremely Rare), 80% off, 800 Points]
······
"So skills and weapons are still bundled when they appear."
Su Changxing was a bit surprised and then dissatisfied, "Too bad it’s not a gun, though having a compatible skill is still pretty good."
If the shop only gave him a bow, that thing wouldn’t be of much use to him. The usage threshold for a bow is higher compared to a gun.
He clicked on the descriptions of the two items.
[Master of Archery Skill: Gain master-level proficiency in archery and a certain proficiency in all basic ranged weapons. You are proficient in various basic ranged weapons, and your archery has reached an unparalleled level, hitting a target perfectly from a hundred steps away is no longer a challenge.]
[Shadow Compound Bow: A common bow from the Rune Technology world, but not ordinary for you. The arrows shot from it are almost silent, and when combined with the Shadow Arrow can achieve true silence, like a ghost.]
The Rune Technology world?
"So is this a magic product or a technological product?"
Su Changxing stared blankly at the product description, feeling that the discount shop was getting more and more outrageous, with items similar to those in the Otherworld.
Then he noticed that a new slot appeared in the shop, the ammo slot.
[Regular Arrows (Quantity 200), 50% off, 1 Point]
[Shadow Arrows (Extremely Rare, Quantity 20), 80% off, 10 Points]
Click on the item description.
[Shadow Arrow: An arrow that disappears after being shot.]
Disappears? What does this mean?
Doesn’t matter, just try it out to find out. With 3719 points now, Su Changxing can easily afford these discounted items.
Redeem the Master of Archery skill.
A bright white book appeared in Su Changxing’s hand, with the words Master of Archery written on the cover.
"Uh, feels terribly rustic."
Su Changxing muttered, flipping open the book as a burst of white light surged into him, the exact same feeling as redeeming the Climbing Skill in the Mysterious Shop.
A massive amount of knowledge appeared in his mind: archery, crossbows, firearms, even RPG techniques. Subtle changes occurred in his muscles and nerves, and he gained an extremely profound understanding of shooting and archery, as if he had been immersed in it for ten or twenty years.
Then he spent another 800 points to redeem the Shadow Bow, and with a flash of white light, a silvery gray compound bow appeared on the floor.
As a Master of Archery, Su Changxing immediately noticed the excellent craftsmanship of this bow, though structurally it didn’t differ much from a typical compound bow—except for the slightly noticeable black lines on the surface.
Grabbing the Shadow Bow immediately gave Su Changxing a special feeling. Looking at a zombie on the street outside, he was certain he could headshot it with one arrow.
With a flash of white light, a regular arrow appeared in Su Changxing’s hand.
Draw, aim, fire, the three actions completed in an instant.
"Whoosh~"
Accompanied by a faint whoosh of wind, an arrow pierced through the zombie’s head, and seconds later, the zombie swayed and fell, collapsing to the ground. The surrounding zombies had no reaction.
"The sound is indeed very faint, barely audible. What principle is at work here?"
Su Changxing pondered while looking at the weapon in his hand; this sound was much softer than that of a regular arrow, making it nearly impossible for enemies to locate the archer based on sound alone.
"Let’s try the Shadow Arrow."
A completely black arrow appeared in Su Changxing’s hand.
Mount the arrow, draw, aim, fire,
As soon as the Shadow Arrow was shot, it vanished. Moments later, a zombie on the street exploded with a splash of blood, an arrow embedded in its head.
"Indeed, it truly is like a ghost, achieving silence and stealth."
Su Changxing was very satisfied with the Shadow Arrow’s effect, beyond expectation, it was a perfect weapon for stealth, an ultimate tool for covert operations.
[Total Points: 2208]
Su Changxing’s gaze slid down the item list. This time the item refresh still included food, and there was an additional tool among the weapons.
Food
[Self-Heating Rice (Quantity 10), 60% off, 20 Points
1L Bottled Water (Quantity 10), 50% off, 1 Point]
[Self-Heating Rice: Add water for self-heating, includes some side dishes.]
"This thing······ is a bit excessive, isn’t it?"
Su Changxing mused, while others were still starving or eating expired food, he was already enjoying self-heating rice.
Although it was a bit excessive, he decisively redeemed a box of self-heating rice, added water, and set it aside, as the aroma wafted out.
Weapons
[Steel Saber (Quantity 5), 50% off, 30 Points
Longsword (Quantity 5), 50% off, 30 Points]
The weapons still included the Steel Saber, but the steel rods were gone, replaced by Longswords, priced the same as the Steel Sabers.
Tools
[Signal Stick (Quantity 5), 50% off, 30 Points]
[Signal Stick: Can be used for illumination or to attract a large number of zombies, advised not to use at night.]
Su Changxing looked at the picture of the Signal Stick on his phone, and dozens of its uses besides illumination immediately popped into his head.
"Since the discount shop will continually refresh food items, there really isn’t a need to hold onto too much food on me."
Su Changxing sorted through his food supply. He now had five bottles of 550ml water, five bottles of 1L water, eight boxes of compressed biscuits, five cans, three loaves of bread, four bags of biscuits, three bags of instant noodles, a bag of jerky, and a scavenged bottle of water.
He then posted a new message.
Lucky Child: Found new supplies again.

Half a loaf of bread, four pieces, 250 Points
Biscuits (expired), four bags, 80 Points

·······
"Where did he get so much food? He’s probably raided at least five Mysterious Shops." a young man in a short shirt said with a curl of his lips, commenting, "Looks like a lone wolf, otherwise he wouldn’t sell food."
A middle-aged man wearing sunglasses said decisively, "He could very well be a High-level Superpower User, possibly an Element or even of the Spiritual System. I think his melee abilities are weak."
"Sigh, how can you tell?" The young man seemed puzzled, glancing at his phone again.
The middle-aged man leaned against the railing, looking at the groups of zombies below, and said, "I bought his knife; the knife can speak."
The young man thought for a moment and said, "Can you tell who he is? It should be a very famous expert."
The middle-aged man shook his head and said, "Not necessarily, some Superpower Users are naturally powerful. It’s possible he awakened only after the Doomsday Game started."
"So should we take all these items?" The young man asked, operating his phone, his eyes flashing with a blue light.
The middle-aged man affirmed, "Yes, food is the most important resource, and Points come by killing zombies."
