Chapter 930: Chapter 930: The Great Free-for-All and Joining In
Originally, Fang Jie didn’t want to get involved in such a large-scale event, as he preferred not to draw too much attention to himself. However, thinking it over, it seemed there might be some benefits to it.
With so many gods gathered together, it either meant something big had happened, or there was a large-scale action underway.
Moreover, there was a significant undead presence, indicating that the situation wasn’t very dangerous for him. At the very least, there were many gods in the same camp who could be relied upon.
If things really went south, amidst such chaos, he could find an opportunity to escape.
Although newly formed, the Void Barrier wasn’t very versatile, it wasn’t entirely useless either.
And with such large-scale operations, who knew what opportunities could arise? Thinking of this, Fang Jie decided to follow the trail in search of answers. After navigating past a large asteroid belt, he saw the scene ahead.
Though still far away, the area was wide open with nowhere to hide.
As soon as Fang Jie emerged, others noticed him too. But at that moment, no one was in the mood to care about it.
Fang Jie was also shocked by the scene before him; what was this? It was an all-out chaotic battle. On the surface, four factions were fighting, but in reality, it wasn’t just four, it was a complete mess.
On one side was the Evil God Alliance, and on the other, a group of God Monsters, which still seemed somewhat normal.
However, the relationships between the Evil Gods were quite strained. While fighting others, they were also battling fiercely among themselves, leading to chaotic attacks from some who acted purely on instinct.
The God Monsters were slightly better, at least not attacking each other while other targets were present.
However, the God Monsters regarded all beings possessing divine power as enemies, making everyone from other camps their adversaries. These God Monsters were busy provoking foes everywhere.
There were two other factions as well, forming two huge alliances.
One side had the Life Camp alliance, consisting of the Human Faction, Beastman Camp, Elf Camp, and some unidentifiable camps, but undoubtedly all of these were normal beings.
On the other side were some evil beings, notably the Undead Camp, the largest group of all.
Given that where there are living beings, there are undead.
Additionally, there were demons and elements; it’s unclear why elements were so rejected. Among them were special types like Fallen Elves and some Fallen Humans and Beastmen.
This side was even more like a mixed bag.
Especially the demons, many of whom followed the path of Evil Gods, making them the faction with the most Evil Gods. Thus, their relations with the Evil God Camp were quite good.
But even that was merely a superficial understanding, as the Evil Gods themselves would fight one another.
These demons were simply stirring trouble, sometimes attacking enemies, sometimes attacking allies, blatantly so. Some demons wouldn’t even spare their own kind.
Other beings acted similarly, with fights breaking out over the slightest provocation, reminiscent of the chaos on the Evil God side.
Beings in the opposing faction were somewhat more normal, at least not openly fighting.
However, they weren’t very harmonious either, as there were many personal grudges among them. So, they started acting secretly, using various means to create trouble for one another.
If they could truly unite, they could be the strongest here.
Due to the distractions of infighting, no one dared to go all out; most were holding back their strength to avoid being outplayed and to retain strength for counteraction.
Then there were the giant dragons, remarkably present in all four factions.
There were normal dragons, evil dragons, and dragons turned into Evil Gods or born as bizarre God Monsters. In short, this species was pervasive and fought fiercely among themselves.
So, what Fang Jie saw now was this grand chaotic battlefield.
It was hard to discern who was allied with whom, everything was a complete mess.
But before Fang Jie could clarify the relationships, he was already under attack.
Only then did Fang Jie realize that he wasn’t the only one here; many others, all gods, would surely notice him. There was no way to hide.
And that was not all; gods were constantly entering the fray from the outside.
“Is time running out? It feels like a climactic battle is coming.”
Fang Jie didn’t understand how this situation formed, whether it was guided by the All Heavens Hunting Ground, or they created it themselves, or if he inadvertently led it, no one explained it to him.
When he arrived, he knew that he could only leave when the number of Evil Gods and God Monsters was sufficiently reduced.
Judging by the situation, it seemed the goal could be reached shortly.
“Forget it, I’ll join in. If I miss this chance, it might be the end of the activity.” Fang Jie muttered to himself and then looked at the entity attacking him; it was an undead.
Once his reaction was noticed, the zombie-like entity even smiled at him.
“What’s there to smile about?” Fang Jie was infuriated. This guy was from the same camp as him, but the recent attack was clearly aimed at his life.
The attack wasn’t lethal; its direction was deliberately pushing him toward the opposing camp.
The backstabbing method was skillful, but upon seeing Fang Jie unharmed, before he could retaliate, the guy ran off. So fast that Fang Jie found he couldn’t catch the entity.
Weren’t zombies supposed to be slow? How was this one so fast?
Fang Jie discovered another shortcoming of his, which was lacking speed-enhancing divine arts.
These arts were typically for melee-type gods, and he felt they had little significance for him. But after this, Fang Jie realized they had pragmatic uses.
He wasn’t like anyone else; he had the White Lotus Book to quickly construct various skills.
Without divine arts impediments, what reason was there to abandon them? It didn’t take long for Fang Jie to find the attacker had disappeared, as the chaotic battlefield offered no place to look.
Fang Jie could only enter the Undead Camp, joining the massive brawl.
Yet where he entered, he faced people from opposing camps first and foremost.
