Global Lords: My Heroes Grow Infinitely
Chapter 344 - 250 Gengar’s Gigantification_2
CHAPTER 344: CHAPTER 250 GENGAR’S GIGANTIFICATION_2
"This seems like a haunted house. I just heard some ghostly wailing sounds. What should we do? It feels like something scary might jump out?" Rosen said nervously; he was most afraid of ghosts.
"Don’t worry because the ghostly wailing you heard was actually made by us. We wanted to scare away any possible ghosts, probably scaring off anything within a hundred-meter radius. So at least within that range, it’s quite safe," Barefoot Immortal said.
"When people die, they become ghosts, and when ghosts die, they turn into qi. While we can be sure there are no ghosts, we can’t be sure there’s not a ghost among ghosts," Meng Die said.
Upon hearing this, Rosen said, "Actually, I still can’t be sure whether you all are ghosts or humans. You could be ghosts in disguise, trying to fool me."
"Here, take it. Look closely—are we humans or ghosts?" Barefoot Immortal handed Rosen a magnifying glass and said, "This is a super magnifying glass that can see any detail."
"Super magnifying? How much magnification are we talking about?" Rosen asked.
Smoke immediately came out of Barefoot Immortal’s head as he said, "The magnification is so high I can’t describe it. Even storing it would make my head smoke, like a CPU overheating or something."
Rosen didn’t believe it, so he used the magnifying glass to zoom in on Barefoot Immortal’s pores.
As the magnifying glass zoomed in, the view revealed Barefoot Immortal’s pores, and they discovered mites within.
Soon, the perspective went through a pair of compound eyes on a mite, further magnifying, and eventually saw a universe full of stars?!
"How is this possible? I can’t believe there’s a miniature universe inside Barefoot Immortal after magnifying!" Rosen exclaimed.
Barefoot Immortal smirked and said, "What’s strange about that? Everyone has their mini-curses; by burning their micro-universe, they gain immense power."
"That’s more like a nuclear explosion," Rosen said. "Burning a micro-universe would yield very unstable and uncontrollable energy."
"That’s not the point. What matters is that you can confirm I’m a real human and not a ghost, right? Ghosts have no physical form and no micro-universes within them either."
"Yes, but I see you have a lot of mites on your feet," Rosen stated.
"Really? They might have crawled up from my feet. My hundred pairs of stinky socks; the foot grime on them is almost entirely eaten by mites, so now they’re spreading upward."
This statement made Meng Die scared, and she voluntarily distanced herself from Barefoot Immortal.
Just then, some bizarre noises startled all three of them.
"Gong gong gong, gong gong gong~"
A strange voice echoed from the dark depths ahead.
It sent shivers down their spines.
Rosen raised his eyes, shooting two beams of gold light from his eyes into the darkness, trying to see what kind of monster lurked there.
"So, Rosen, what did you see with your Eyes of Golden Flame?" Meng Die suddenly asked.
"I saw something that looked like a Gengar?" Rosen replied.
"Gengar? It seems like we’ve arrived in the mythical Pokémon world, and if I’m not mistaken, this must be the haunted house where Ghost-type Pokémon reside."
"Yes, I think so too, but it doesn’t seem dangerous here?" Rosen said.
However, Meng Die looked at the Ghost Talisman crawling on Rosen’s face and said, "You could try scaring away the Ghost-type Pokémon with your face, so we can pass through the corridor ahead."
"Let me give it a shot."
Saying that, Rosen suddenly ran forward, howling like a ghost: "Awooo!~"
Hearing Rosen’s ghostly wails, the Gengar trio, Gengar, Gengar, and Gengar, were immediately terrified.
"What’s that horrifying thing?"
The fear stemmed from the unknown, and even though the Ghost-type trio were the leaders of this haunted house, they were still afraid of ghosts, especially unfamiliar ones.
"So scary! This is a ghost we’ve never seen before, how terrifying!"
"What are we afraid of? Worst case, we fight to the death!" Gengar, the strongest and final form among the three, held a weapon made from a rolled-up newspaper, still deadly enough.
As Rosen got closer, Gengar hit Rosen on the head with a hammer.
Clang.
The Ghost Talisman effect on Rosen’s face fell off immediately.
Seeing the Ghost Talisman effect crawling on the ground, the Gengar trio finally realized this was a human wearing a ghost mask to scare them.
"A mere human, daring to masquerade as a ghost to scare us—who gave you the courage? Liang Jingru?"
Gengar, the leader among them, was instantly enraged, and the rolled-up newspaper in hand kept hitting Rosen’s head.
Clang, clang, clang.
"Eighty!"
"Eighty!"
"Eighty!"
Each hit was a critical strike.
Before long, Rosen was jolted awake.
But upon waking up, Rosen lost his fear of ghosts, and suddenly a piece of yellow paper appeared in his hand.
Yellow paper is known to be a favorite of ghosts, their common currency.
But if you draw a Ghost Talisman on it, it becomes something ghosts fear most.
Rosen immediately smacked the crawling Ghost Talisman onto the yellow paper, turning it into a Talisman.
Then, Rosen slapped the Talisman onto Gengar’s forehead.
Smack.
Gengar was actually slapped to death!
It actually died!
Looking at the black liquid remaining on the ground, Rosen’s expression changed unpredictably as fear rose within his heart.
"Oh no, oh no, when a ghost dies, it becomes qi. Now that the ghost is dead, it can’t be restrained by the Talisman."
Thinking of this, Rosen hurriedly bit his own middle finger, using his blood to smear the Talisman: "Looks like I’ll have to try strengthening its power, hoping it will have some effect."
Just then, a gigantic Gengar with wings appeared, hovering over the haunted house.
This was Gengar’s new form after evolution.
If Rosen hadn’t killed it, it wouldn’t have undergone a phoenix-like rebirth; rising from the dead, it was reborn as a powerful Pokémon.
And it was even rarer than a winged Pikachu.
This was the result of using gigantic evolution.
Rosen hadn’t expected that he would directly cause Gengar’s mutation, feeling a hint of fear, since he hadn’t seen the gigantic Gengar yet, only sensing a chill in the air.
When Rosen looked out the window of the haunted house, he was instantly terrified.
Unexpectedly, a huge red eye appeared on the window, staring right at him.
"What a big moon, it’s actually blood-red."
Rosen hadn’t yet realized it was Gengar’s eye, suspecting that the sky had turned blood-red.
This sort of situation usually pointed to dense acid rain, with sulfur compounds exceeding limits, giving a yellow-brown hue, and combined with dim lighting, it seemed red. Along with the dense rain and the refraction of light, the sky appeared blood-red.
But strangely enough, he hadn’t heard the sound of rain.
"Oh, I see, this is soundproof glass!" Rosen suddenly placed his hands on his hips, laughing out loud, realizing he had scared himself.
However, just then, a voice penetrated through the window, proving the glass wasn’t soundproof and quite porous to noise.
"Gengar, Gengar..."
The voice sounded like some encoded message Rosen couldn’t understand, but Barefoot Immortal appeared at that moment, looking terrified and said, "Bad news, Rosen. You somehow helped Gengar achieve its gigantic evolution just now!"
"Gigantic evolution?"
"Yes, and I think it not only evolved but entered a winged form. Right now, this Gengar is even rarer than a winged Pikachu, potentially becoming a first-level protected creature. You won’t be able to deal with it!"
Upon hearing Barefoot Immortal’s words, Rosen’s expression changed, not realizing Gengar had evolved into a first-level protected waste?
"Then what should we do? If Gengar decides to kill us now, and we’re unable to retaliate without risking the law, wouldn’t that be ridiculous?"
After Rosen spoke, Barefoot Immortal said, "It looks like Meng Die will have to handle this. Meng Die is actually a special butterfly species from the Amazon Forest, also a first-level protected creature. If she steps in, she might be able to defeat the gigantic Gengar."
"Looks like this is up to me." Meng Die emerged just then, transparent wings appearing on her back. "When it comes to flying, I’ve never lost."
In the next moment, Meng Die took to the skies with Gengar, starting a flight competition.
