"What opportunity? The organization probably doesn't even know we're in trouble! Who could possibly create an opportunity for us here?"

Little Qi couldn't imagine anyone who would help them in this situation.

"The enemy will create the opportunity for us!"

Lin Ye swung his fishing rod to sweep away a shadowy figure approaching them.

Boom!

A violent explosion suddenly erupted from below the unfinished building, and the entire structure began to collapse and tilt.

Void Entities still had to follow certain physical laws, so when the floor collapsed, the surrounding shadowy figures scattered along with the debris, becoming separated and disorganized.

Lin Ye scooped up Little Qi with one arm and sprinted upward, stepping on broken concrete chunks. The rubble and dust raining down on him were deflected in all directions by his raincoat, while the shadowy figures charging toward them were forcibly pushed away by Little Qi.

The building that had stood unfinished for over a decade collapsed in mere seconds. Lin Ye's personal best for the hundred-meter dash was 14.74 seconds, and he was now sprinting upward at that same explosive pace—though fortunately, he didn't need to cover a full hundred meters.

After landing steadily on a broken slab, Lin Ye continued charging forward through the dust-filled ruins. He had to reach the sports car before the snipers above regained their visual clarity—that was their only chance to break through the encirclement.

The smoke and debris didn't slow Lin Ye's search for the sports car. Even before the building collapsed, he had already planned his next moves and could have found the car's location with his eyes closed.

From the bomb's explosion to Lin Ye opening the car door and tossing Little Qi into the passenger seat, the entire process took less than ten seconds—the straight-line distance wasn't even a hundred meters.

Fortunately, the sports car hadn't been damaged by falling rubble. Lin Ye slid into the driver's seat, slammed the door shut, took the keys Little Qi threw to him, started the engine, and immediately floored the accelerator.

The sports car screamed with a sharp roar, leaving scattered gunfire behind. Several camouflage-clad figures rushed toward the car with their weapons. Lin Ye rolled down the window and flicked his fishing hook toward one of them, but just before the hook found its target, a shadowy figure suddenly appeared beside the soldier.

The fishhook cleanly sliced through the camouflage-clad figure's neck, sending blood spraying forward like a fountain. But that wasn't the main concern—the real problem was the growing number of shadowy figures surrounding them.

The camouflage-clad figures began dying in large numbers due to various accidents. Shrouded in the shadow of fear and death, they could only watch helplessly as the sports car sped away into the distance.

Little Qi pulled out her phone to contact organization members, but as soon as she turned it on, she received a flood of delayed messages.

"...Those people attacked the asylum. Many organization members have been captured by them."

Little Qi clenched her phone, biting her lip until it bled.

"Doesn't the organization have any powerful members? How could a bunch of ordinary people breach the organization's base so quickly?"

Lin Ye found it hard to believe. These people couldn't even capture the two of them, yet they managed to overrun the organization's headquarters in such a short time—it didn't make sense.

"The attackers included Void Breakers too. They used Void Entities to assault the asylum, along with those armed camouflage-clad figures. Most of our organization's Void Breakers aren't skilled at fighting humans, which is why the base fell so quickly."

Little Qi sighed. She herself wasn't good at dealing with humans either—without Lin Ye's help, she would have been captured by those people too.

Ding-ding-ding-ding-ding...

Little Qi's phone suddenly rang.

"Hello, Sister Qi? Are you okay?"

Little Qi said excitedly.

"Little Qi! Yellow Hair and the others helped me escape by car! Yellow Hair is badly injured! Where are you now? Can you come meet up with us?"

Doctor Qi's agitated voice came through the phone, though her surroundings sounded remarkably quiet.

Just as Little Qi was about to speak, Lin Ye suddenly grabbed her wrist firmly.

Little Qi looked at Lin Ye, who simply shook his head slightly.

"Hello? Little Qi? Why aren't you saying anything?"

Doctor Qi asked loudly.

"Doctor Qi, where are you? Why does it sound so quiet around you?"

Lin Ye held Little Qi's wrist, moving the phone to his own ear as he asked quietly.

"It's Little Lin. I'm at the organization's safe house. You should come join us as soon as possible."

Doctor Qi's voice suddenly became much calmer.

"What about Yellow Hair? Put him on the phone."

Although Lin Ye had already guessed the purpose of this call, he still wanted to confirm his suspicions.

"He lost too much blood and passed out."

Doctor Qi said casually.

"What a coincidence. Could you tell us who you people really are? At least let us die with understanding."

Lin Ye responded just as casually.

"Of course not. You're nothing special, but Little Qi is different—she's the most promising Void Breaker in the organization. I need to capture her to feel at ease."

Doctor Qi said with a laugh.

"Why did you betray the organization?"

Little Qi, who had been listening all along, finally understood what had happened. The organization's base wouldn't have fallen so easily unless there was a traitor working from within.

"To become a Void Breaker, of course. I'm tired of playing house with you children. I want to see Void Entities with my own eyes, to slaughter them with my own hands. Your organization can't accomplish that. Void Breakers need a more efficient organization."

"In this new organization, the strong will receive support from ordinary people. As for the weak... they can serve as research material for our Void Breaker studies. It won't be long before we discover how to become Void Breakers. Not just that—we'll research every type of Void Entity until we completely control humanity's fate!"

Doctor Qi's cold voice contained a rage that wanted to destroy everything. Since that incident, this magma-like fury had been accumulating in her heart with nowhere to vent.

Because she couldn't even see the enemy.

She was grateful to the organization, but she had to betray it—because only this way could she take the first step toward her revenge.

"Tell me where you've taken the captured organization members, and I'll give you a chance to capture me."

Right now, Little Qi only wanted to rescue the captured organization members as quickly as possible.

"Rejected. I watched you grow up. Even if I don't tell you their location, you won't run away—you'll bravely search for them instead. But I suggest you hurry, otherwise you might not find your comrades intact. Those people will start by studying their brains first."

Doctor Qi said with a laugh.

"I know who you people are. This city only has one organization that could deploy so many armed personnel. As for where you are... outside the city, right?"

Lin Ye probably shouldn't have said these words aloud, but he disliked hearing someone like Doctor Qi speaking so triumphantly in his ear.

"Wait for us in your base. I guarantee you won't accomplish anything—you'll only watch yourself die at the hands of Void Entities, just like all the others killed by them."

"...Arrogant! You simply don't—"

Lin Ye took the phone from Little Qi's hand and casually tossed it out the window.

Just as Lin Ye prepared to throw away his own phone as well, his phone began to ring.
