CHAPTER 92: CHAPTER 92: AN UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER

"Wang Lian, what’s she doing here?" Chen Guan was a bit surprised, not expecting to encounter Wang Lian here again.

It wasn’t unexpected for Wang Lian to come to Pingdu Mountain Blessed Land at all; Chen Guan even knew Wang Lian was certainly looking for him.

After all, Wang Lian took the blame silently for such a huge problem, certainly holding back the urge to find him to obtain the last part of the "Afang Scripture" from him.

Unfortunately, the "Afang Scripture" doesn’t exist at all; it was a trap set by Ming Fei to make people mistakenly believe it was a Secret Technique created by the Emperor Ancestor for his first love.

The so-called "Afang Scripture" was also concocted by Ming Fei herself, part of it is her Joyful Technique and the other part references the "Emperor’s Scripture".

And the "Emperor’s Scripture" wasn’t created by the Emperor Ancestor either. It’s said that it was a Secret Technique created by a predecessor who ascended with three thousand concubines and was recompiled and modified by the Emperor Ancestor.

Therefore, the secret technique on the Seven Treasure Glaze Fruit and other parts were all haphazardly pieced together by Ming Fei to deceive people.

Of course, Wang Lian doesn’t know any of this; she thinks she has obtained four parts of the "Afang Scripture", and as long as she gets the last part from Chen Guan, she can inherit the Secret Technique created by the Emperor Ancestor.

What Chen Guan finds odd is, at this point in time, why Wang Lian is in Reincarnation City instead and isn’t going to grab the Secret Spirit Egg.

To not seize such a benefit seems rather out of character for Wang Lian.

Xiu Yingmei also saw Wang Lian, although last time she saw Wang Lian, Wang Lian was wearing a veil, now she wasn’t, but hadn’t changed clothes. After looking carefully for a moment, she recognized Wang Lian’s identity and instinctively turned her head away, not wanting Wang Lian to see her and risk being recognized.

"Do you know her?" Chen Guan quietly asked Xiu Yingmei.

"Professed remnants of the royal clan, Wang Family Head’s third daughter Wang Lian, calling herself some kind of Third Princess, must be mentally unwell." Seeing Wang Lian hadn’t noticed her, Xiu Yingmei said dismissively.

"She isn’t going to grab the Secret Spirit Egg but is sneaking around in Reincarnation City; we should go check it out?" Seeing Wang Lian sneaking into a hotel, Chen Guan said to Xiu Yingmei.

"With such a good chance, quickly transmit and leave; once Shang Qingtian reacts and blocks the Teleportation Station, it’ll be hard to leave and it’ll be like catching a turtle in a jar." Xiu Yingmei felt Chen Guan was quite loose-minded; even in such a situation, he has the thought to mind others.

"Then you, take our precious Secret Spirit Egg and transmit out; I’ll go see what Wang Lian is sneakily doing." Chen Guan felt Wang Lian was certainly up to something sinister.

Even if he transmits out now, he’ll still arrive at Reincarnation City upon transmitting next time. If Wang Lian is indeed plotting something wicked, she’ll certainly do something at the Teleportation Station so that when he enters again he’ll be caught by Wang Lian immediately or even possibly plotted against directly hence he wants to find out what Wang Lian is actually doing and whether she’s trying to set him up here.

Chen Guan felt this possibility was very high; thinking from Wang Lian’s perspective, Chen Guan would surely want to grab the Secret Spirit Egg near the Reincarnation Mountain Range, so it’s likely that Chen Guan will transmit out from Reincarnation City.

If he were Wang Lian, he’d also wait here, ready for Chen Guan to walk right into the trap.

"What? Are you interested in this mentally unwell woman?" Xiu Yingmei teased with a slightly odd tone.

"Don’t you know? We clashed with her when we were at the Fifteenth Island in July; I’m afraid she’s plotting something here to counter me." Chen Guan explained.

Xiu Yingmei thought for a moment as if recalling something, "How about I go with you to check it out; maximum twenty minutes, after twenty minutes, we must transmit out."

"Alright." Chen Guan thought twenty minutes should suffice.

The two entered the hotel, thinking about how to find Wang Lian, not knowing which room she was staying in, when their gaze swept across the lobby, noticing a small bar on the left side with a blonde singer and some people on sofas drinking which included Wang Lian.

"See that hook-nosed man? That’s Wang Ying, nicknamed Eagle King, his lightweight skill is exceptional, claimed to be first of Three Realms Light Skill, can whirl like an eagle in the air without landing; he’s seen me, better not get spotted." Xiu Yingmei turned her back towards Wang Ying and the others, whispering to Chen Guan.

"Who’s that sitting across from them? Doesn’t look to be with Wang Lian’s crew?" Chen Guan asked after glancing over there.

Xiu Yingmei hadn’t looked carefully before; taking a sneaky glance now, she showed a touch of surprise in her eyes: "That’s Shang Moqiu, younger brother of Shang Ziyi but not as famous. Heard he’s a spendthrift who indulges in alcohol and fun."

After a pause, Xiu Yingmei added, "The fact that Shang Moqiu is in contact with Wang Lian and her group, uncertain if he’s being tricked by them or is it a cooperative relationship. If it’s a partnership, then Shang Moqiu might not be as simple as the rumors suggest."

"The Shang Family in Reincarnation City is part of King of Shang’s lineage, it seems unnecessary for them to entangle with the Wang Family, right?" Chen Guan pondered.

"Not necessarily, Wang Family’s influence isn’t to be underestimated, Reincarnation City’s Shang Family is merely a branch far from King of Shang, so seeking external help for development is possible and moreover Shang Moqiu can’t represent Shang Qingtian, perhaps he wants to leverage Wang Family’s power to compete for authority with Shang Ziyi." Xiu Yingmei explained.

"What are you talking about? Splitting evenly with me? On what grounds?" Chen Guan and Xiu Yingmei suddenly heard Shang Moqiu slapping the table and shouting from the other side.

"Master Qiu, let’s discuss it civilly, the split can be negotiated." Wang Lian said with a smile.

"Nothing to negotiate, you want this place, pay the earnest money of one hundred thousand, lease it for a year, profit split three-seven, I take seven you three." Shang Moqiu interrupted her directly.

Chen Guan and Xiu Yingmei eavesdropped for a while, realizing Wang Lian and her group were trying to lease Shang Moqiu’s property, wanting only management rights and still had to share profits with Shang Moqiu.

The property was this hotel, which indeed looked quite decent; a hundred thousand rent for a year wasn’t expensive, just around the going rate.

However, giving seventy percent of profits to Shang Moqiu would likely lead to a losing business.

Originally, Chen Guan and Xiu Yingmei thought the deal wouldn’t go through since Shang Moqiu wouldn’t budge but surprisingly it did.

Shang Moqiu left joyfully, arm-around his beauty.

Chen Guan and Xiu Yingmei had already checked out and left earlier heading towards the Teleportation Station.

Chen Guan couldn’t understand what Wang Lian and her group intended by leasing such a hotel, but when they reached the Teleportation Station, he noticed something.

"Isn’t that hotel just behind the Teleportation Station?" Chen Guan observed.

They had to circle around to reach the Teleportation Station, but in a direct line, the hotel was right behind it.

Hearing this, Xiu Yingmei examined their position; her face turned a bit odd as she commented: "Are Wang Lian and her crew insane, plotting against Reincarnation City? If they dare do this, King of Shang won’t let them off."

Chen Guan kept silent in thought, uncertain if Wang Lian and her group aimed to plot against Reincarnation City or him.
